History
A computer network is defined as a digital communication system that provides many nodes to transfer data or information from one person to another. In computer networking, computing systems and devices exchange information or data with other peripheral devices by using data links. These data links may be wired or wireless such as optical cables, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. In this modern technology, there are many computer networks systems developed such as SDN, cloud computing, Zigbee, LTE, and IoT through which people can transfer data or information without using any data link wires or cables. The main purpose of this report is to evaluate history, present, and future of the computer network system. This report is explaining various computer networks, Chronological development and advanced computer networks system [1].
Computer network system is very oldest technology to share data or information using data link process and wired technology is one of the oldest computer network system through which people can transfer data from one device to another [2].

The human-centric system is defined as a process through which a person can understand the role of computer networks in the field of information technology. It is the latest technology in which computing resources and devices are provided to human and they can access this technology from any location to transfer data or information from one device to another peripheral device. This technology changed the way of communication through which a person can communicate with computer systems [3].
OSI is defined as a network protocol which can provide a link between computer networks and users. Through this model, the user can share their files by using the data link process. TCP/IP is a type of computer network which uses internet service to transfer human data and information’s and this protocol allows connection between two computer devices and systems. OSI model uses a vertical approach while the TCP/IP network system uses a horizontal approach. OSI has a separate session and presentation layer but in TCP/IP, both layers are in the same section [4].

Computer networks use many network accessories such as keyboard mouse and CPU in which keyboard and mouse both are common components of computer devices. Wired keyboard is one of the oldest network accessories which is used to provide commands to computer systems and it was developed in the year 1875. The mouse is also an important part of any computer system in which there are three buttons are used such as left, right and scroll down or up. People use both these comments to give commands and in computer networks to transfer data or files from one peripheral device to another [5].
Chronological development
The graphical user interface is a type of computer network that provides a platform to communicate with computer devices and systems by using graphical icons. In the year 1973 first GUI was developed by Xerox PARC which is called as Alto. Through this technology, people can communicate with many computer devices and systems [5].

at this time there are many computer networks are using for communication purpose such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, Zigbee, Z-wave all these are wireless networks protocols. There are many people which are using internet services through which they communicate with other person and wireless computer networks are one of the best systems through which persons can send and receive data from long distances [6].
There are various types of internet protocols in which two most common types of internet protocols which are following
- Dynamic routing
- Static routing
Static routing is the very simple process of manually entering routes into a system with the help of configuration data files. These types of routers can enter in human-computer systems by using network administrators. The manually operated router cannot be changed after configuration, therefore, they are called as static routers. The main advantage of this router is that it is a more efficient router rather than other [7].
Pros |
Cons |
Minimal memory overhead |
A manual process which takes more time |
No bandwidth overhead |
More costly |
Granular control on traffic |
Impractical on large computer systems and networks |
These types of routers are supported by many software applications and the dynamic router is not a manual process. Through this type of router, the user can connect a number of peripheral devices and people can connect two routers at a time with the help of dynamic router systems. There are many examples of this router such as RIP, EIGRP, and OSPF [7].
Pros |
Cons |
Very simple process |
· Required more efforts |
More efficient |
Less secure rather than a static router |
Ability to produce a balance between many links |
|
Updates are transferred between various routers |

In this advanced technology, there are many technologies developed through which people can transfer data from one location to another. The mobile phone is one of the modern technologies which is increasing rapidly and users are using smartphones for communication purpose and in last few years much mobile organization developed touchscreen mobile phone through which they can increase efficiency and productivity [8].
Computer networking is growing rapidly and there are many organizations which are using various computers networking system by which they can communicate with peripheral devices. There are many future computer networks through which people can transfer data from one device to another such as software defined networks, cloud computing, intelligent networking and IoT [9].
Software-defined technology is a type of network system which provides network facilities to users and improves the overall performance of networks systems. SDN provide centralize network system through which people can interact with computer devices [9].

Cloud computing is one of the latest technologies which is used to store and share personal data files. This technology can be used as a backup purpose and many organizations are using this process to reduce security risks and cyber-attacks [9].
Intelligent networking can be used for communication purpose in which two or more computer devices are connected with each other by using electric cables or wires. This is one of the best technology which reduced many security risks and many artificial intelligent are using this process to communicate with electronic systems and devices [10].
IoT is a very important technology for communication and in which two or more devices communicate with the help of wireless technology and internet connection. This technology changed the future of computer networks systems because it increased the overall performance of devices and systems [10].
Conclusion
Computer networks are the very important system because it provides a platform to transfer data or information from one device to another. This report explained the past, present, and future of computer networks and various internet protocols. People should use these technologies for communication purpose and IoT is the future of computer network because it reduced many security risks and threats.
