Gun Control in America
Question: In other countries, gun control laws are very strict and gun violence is very low, should the United States consider what works for other countries?
Thesis: This idea shows that the United States has a problem with following the examples of other countries. They are not showing any type of leadership, allowing U.S citizens to suffer the consequences for not enforcing laws against gun violence.
Tobacco Industry targeting Minors
Question: E-cigarettes are popular among teens and are now the most commonly used form of tobacco among youth in the United States.
Their easy availability, alluring advertisements, various e-liquid flavors, and the belief that they’re safer than cigarettes have helped make them appealing to this age group, but are they really?
Thesis: This idea shows that this is now a problem because kids can get addicted easily. Tobacco or vaping products are targeted to adults who have smoked cigarettes and are trying to get off them.
But teens or even kids are getting their hands on these products and are hurting their body at such an early stage.
Making Marijuana legal will decrease the amount of crime happening around the United States.
Question: Legalization would reduce the risks, the prices, and, therefore, the crimes. In addition, crimes related to drug disputes would also be reduced once Marijuana becomes a legal drug. But many who are against legal marijuana claim that it could lead to an increase in violent crime, but does it really?
Thesis: this idea shows that crime has increased in many of the cities where recreational marijuana is legal.
Homicides in all major cities with legal marijuana have increased over the past few years. But homicides have also increased in cities without recreational marijuana.
