Corporate Level is the Most Influencing Body
Figure 1: Hierarchy Levels of Strategy for Asdith Health Services
(Source: Created by Author)
There is a severe problem in the organization regarding the understanding of the central ‘power’ in the organization (Wu, Straub & Liang, 2015). This confusion lies in the industry because there has been absence of individuals or groups of people in the organization who are dedicated in making feasible and effective decision for implementing changes in the organization.
- If proper feedback is taken from the employees in the organization about the concept of authority, it could be analyzed at what position the employees are in accepting an authority. This can be further strategized to implement a governing body for the employees of the organization.
- The issue can be solved if the entire institution votes for a single person who will be able to make certain decisions for situations when the company is in a need for making changes in the business process (Wager, Lee & Glaser, 2017). This person has to belong from the corporate level since it is always feasible that the final decision is made from the highest level of management in the organization for the sole benefit of the company.
- The organization can train the employees to make them report to the chosen authority to ensure that even after choosing the authorized body, the employees are abiding by the process of reporting to them. This will ensure proper progression of the organizational structure.
- The decision making authority should be made to transfer the knowledge of his system of monitoring the entire employee department to ensure the proper propagation of the organizational structure. This would enable a systematic approach towards the organizational structure and the unruly system in the organization could thus be tamed.
Figure 2: Organizational Pyramid with Levels of Strategy
(Source: Created by Author)
Taking reference from the organizational pyramid as created above, it can be said that the hierarchy level that is the most influencing body in the company is the Corporate Level(Rittinghouse&Ransome, 2016). This is because, the final decision making is done from this level only. Thus, any decision the Corporate Level makes, the entire organization has to follow suit.
For Strategic Implementation Systems, however; the Business Level can be held accountable since the managing of a project is handled by this level of organizational pyramid(Pearlson, Saunders &Galletta, 2016).
The SWOT analysis technique for Asdith Health Services would be as follows:
Strengths: There are various strengths in the Asdith Health Services organization and these can be listed as below:
- The Asdith health services are a Pioneer when it comes to health care services that operate in San Francisco(Lee, Bagheri& Kao, 2015).
- The Health Organization has become one of the most prominent brand names as providing services being a Healthcare provider.
- There has been tremendous reviews from the customers mostly delivering positive comments towards the service provided by the organization(Laurini, 2014).
- There is a huge range of health services that the organization offers to its clients.
Weaknesses: The weaknesses for the Asdith Health Services Organization can be listed as below:
- There is a problem in the organization for the do not have a helpline information system that is effective and reliable.
- The organization lacks in staff satisfaction and often the feedback of the employees are negative.
- There is an absence of a decision making body in the corporate level and there is no information system support for the internal business process in the organization. The company lacks in fortifying a fruitful strategic plan for the long term(Macinko& Harris, 2015).
Opportunities: The opportunities of the organization can be listed as below:
- The organization could have a centralized Healthcare information system and also the additional Health Services that is most likely to be offered besides the existing services that are already offered to the clients.
- Another health institution is being opened in two different other parts of the United States.
- Another opportunity that the organization has is the monitoring and reporting of the health services that are offered to the clients. This ensures that the services are controlled and synchronized, with least chances of having an haphazard approach.
Threats: The impending threats in the organization also exist and these can be found out with the following points as below:
- There is confusion in the operational level in the organization about the new system that is going to be implemented as a part of the business process(Whittington, 2014). There is confusion of using the new system since the employees have been habituated with using the traditional system.
- There is a possibility that competitors are already present in the area that Asdith is trying to dwell into with the establishment of another branch.
- The competitors are offering better services domestic is and this can be an impending threat (Shariatzadeh, Mandal & Srivastava, 2015).
The PESTEL analysis would focus on the Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal implications for Asdith Health Services in the United States and this would be analyzed as below:
Political: The Political Analysis for the organization can be listed in details as below:
- The cost escalation problem would create an impact on the organization as government policy would affect the health services cost that the organization is most likely to imply (Qrunfleh & Tarafdar, 2014).
- Change in the health insurance strategies are most likely to affect the organization as well as the taxation decisions taken by the government.
- The lack of organizational structure can cause a problem as in this way legal implications of a business system gets violated.
Economic: The affect that Economics has on the organization would be listed as below:
- Employee staffing can be a problem that affects the organization since employee eligibility is restricted with the drop coverage of employers.
- Another effect that is dominant from the economic perspective to the organization is the retirement plans and the revision of careers by the Healthcare professionals (Peltier, 2016).
- The rapid change in the business scenario is a problem because implementing newer technology in the business process would require additional input of monetary investments in the business.
Social: The social implication that affects the organization can be listed as below:
- That is a social effect of insurance plants that affect the organization as well (Stark, 2015). It is often seen that there are very rare number of patients that want medical operation without an insurance since Healthcare system has become very expensive in the contemporary times.
- The services that the organization provides should have a widespread approach, which is otherwise not followed usually. This restricts the organization in providing services to all the levels of people in the society and not just the cream of it.
- The uniform service providing system should possess an approach that is not an obligation to all the levels of the society.
Technological: The technological implications that have their effect in the organization can be listed as follows:
- One of the major implications that Technology creates in the organization is the availability of Information and big data. Due to the use of internet, and search features, information sharing has been very rapid and has listen exponentially between the Healthcare professionals (Nguyen, Bellucci& Nguyen, 2014).
- That has been a smoother communication facilitated in the Healthcare industry with the use of media like a real-time meetings and video conferences which has become smoother with every day (Laudon & Laudon, 2016). Does it can be said that communication has improved much due to the technological implications.
- Nowadays, mobile applications have become easily available which enables the applications to provide services on the go for the patients as well as the medical practitioners.
Environmental: The environmental implications that have their effect in the organization can be listed as follows:
- The implications of environment that affects the organization are the clinical waste disposals and the exposure of these organizations to the environmental agents (Morden, 2016).
- The organization does not have a proper system that enables dumping of the business waste in an organized way.
- The employees do not have a proper knowledge of handling the clinical waste, which is hazardous since it claims the hygiene of the clients.
Legal: The legal implications that have their effect in the organization can be listed as follows:
- HIPAA and data breaches. Law with reference to patients and hospital records can never be disclosed at any cost.
- Law concerning anti-discrimination should be implemented when it comes to age and disability of the employees (Soomro, Shah & Ahmed, 2016).
- Acquisition of another institution to reduce competition and contribution to higher prices are applied in the strategic implementation.
The two Strategic Implementations solutions that can be listed from the list of challenges that AHS has been facing can be described in details as below:
- Hiring and training of internal system: If an organization spent more in the information technology systems that fails to meet the organizations requirements is not a solution but a rather hindrance. Therefore it is not enough that Asdith health services invests on information technology systems that fails to meet the need of the organization (Abdelhak, Grostick&Hanken, 2014). It should invest more time on the specific systems that the organization actually needs. Asdith should form a centralized system which is able to connect all the departments of the health providers and all the transactions so that the information that is accessible can be provided accurately.
- Assigning a Project Manager: Asdith health services have been regularly missing the timelines of the project and the budgeting that they had prepared as a financial reporting (Galliers & Leidner, 2014). Therefore has a solution they should a sign a project manager who would be able to have a proper monitoring on the Institutions projects as well as would post the entire team to finish the projects on time. It is also required that the company works mode on the creation of an automatic generation of financial reports that would be able to reduce effort and time for the employees in the organization
Figure 3: Porter’s Five Forces Framework Model
(Source: Created by Author)
SWOT Analysis for Asdith Health Services
Porter’s Competitive forces: The porter’s competitive forces or porter’s five forces model Framework is an application or a tool that analyses the external competitions and the internal competitions of a business organization. From the industrial organization economics it can be derived what are the five forces are which determines the competitive Industry that any organization has or lacks does proving the terms of the organization’s profitability in the industry (Hill, Jones & Schilling, 2014). In this case the porter’s competitive forces of the porter’s five forces model can be described with all the approaches of the five forces model as below:
Competitive Rivalry:This force focuses on the number and the strength of the organizations competitors. This clearly States the numbers and the quality of products the competitors offers in comparison with the base organization. In this case where the company’s profit had been doubled because of the economic recession and the consumers had to look for an alternative the business had a major overhaul (Coronel & Morris, 2016). It is not intended by the organization that the competitors process be imitated but they wanted to introduce a much more aggressive production differentiation strategy that would mitigate all the inefficiencies that have been in the past with the organization.
Supplier Power:This means the power of the supplier for the organization in increasing the prices and exactly how many potential suppliers can be organization get and the uniqueness of their products in comparison of the other suppliers (Ginter, Duncan & Swayne, 2018). The case study has failed to mention any supplier of Julia juice but they have mentioned a supplier that would help them to introduce the product in a new trend. This help Julia uses consumers to feel at ease while they were purchasing them using the new system of ordering over Smartphone. Does it can be said that social media sites have been also part of the consumer group that help Julia juice get rewards from the clients.
Power of the buyers:It has been seen that Julian juice and its competitors have started switching their products for the consumers. However Julia juice mostly focused on the ease of buying for their competitors sharing less focus on the product itself. This has been because there has been a new introduction of digital approach in the buying of the products with the use of Smartphone (Kaiser, El Arbi&Ahlemann, 2015). For this the company has also given out free Wi-Fi services in their respective stores for the consumers to buy the products easily.
PESTEL Analysis of Asdith Health Services in the United States
Threat of new entry:This portion of the porter’s five rules states that if Julia juices quality of product does not improve it will soon be replaced by the competitors that have a chance of offering a new line of service to the customers with not only ease of buying but also an improved product in comparison with Julia juice (Dwivedi et al., 2015).
- Lowering cost:Technological advancement helps companies’ productivity increase while reducing labor time and cost (Bryson, 2018). There is high possibility of automobiles being created accurately and on quality standards under software’s operation rather manually assembled and controlled by a human hand.
- Enhancing differentiation:Information system does help companies develop a strategic way on how their business will be different with other competitors. It means that one business can offer new kind of product or service aside from what is existing (Aarons et al., 2014). Instead of physically assessing the infra by a person that takes weeks to finish, the software will make its assessment quickly.
- Implementing new technology:The innovation of implementing the latest technology to aid the customers in buying the products can serve as one of the most important strategies in the business process.
- Enabling online buy:It has been noticed that customers are becoming more internet biased, and thus the buying process can be implemented to be provided online so that the ease of buy can attract more potential customers besides the old ones.
- Making the authority connect via online services:The organization should make the authority connect with each other through online services, which would enable much more organized time management in the organization.
- Competitive advantage:A competitive advantage can be defined by a feature that helps a business in doing better than their competitors.
- Sustainable Competitive Advantage:This is a feature that can be defined as a particular field of approach that an organization is using since a long time that does much better than all the competitors in the long run.
In this case study only the competitive advantage had been considered as digital trend implementation has been in hype since the organization has introduced in its business process (Avgerou& Walsham, 2017). The competition for the other organizations would still exist since Julia juice does not pay attention to its products and there is a chance that some other company can provide and improved product in comparison with Julia juice.
According to personal discretion the four strategic information system strategies that would have been implemented would be as follows:
- Implementing Employee Data integration
- Implementing better manufacturing techniques with the use of latest manufacturing devices.
- Training the employees for perfect synchronization with the strategic systems
- Maintaining monitoring of the information system by the higher level authorities, that is the Corporate Level Employees (Kavanagh & Johnson, 2017)
These strategies would be implemented because they would enable more focus on the company’s product as well as synchronizing them with the latest strategically implementation of ease of buying for the customers, thus eliminating the new competitors’ possibility of producing better products in the market (Eason, 2014).
The companies all around the world that has been using these strategies are Pepsico, The Coca Cola Company, and many other leading aerated beverage manufacturers (Carnall, 2018).
- There was an integrated wireless technology within the store as integrated by Julia Juice for easy approach to the customers.
- The products were available in mobile platforms since in the recent times people have been using many mobile devices, especially the customers of Julia Juice.
- The customers have been provided with Free WI-FI within the stores (Alles et al., 2018).
- The applications provide the customers to buy products online.
- The store website has access to social media platforms that provides the customers earn various credit points (Chang, 2016).
- Wi-Fi availability on all stores for JJ managers to work and connect to their company’s private network while in store.
- The in-store connectivity had provided the organization workers to have easy time management techniques (Haines, 2016).
