The solar energy is divided into different areas such as solar heating, photovoltaic, solar thermal energy, solar architecture and development of electricity. The developed nations are using the solar energy in different areas to overcome the burden over natural resources of earth in their areas. The initiative of “going green” is having greater impact on growth and popularity of solar energy. It is an effort to build and maintain renewable and sustainable power sources by planting the solar panels in high heating areas (Wild & et al., 2015). The initial cost of installation of solar power plant is high but the outputs are sustained for long term. The solar energy is used for many purposes that have significant impact on daily life of people. The major usages of solar energy involve battery charging for home, cooking, indoor and roadside lighting, heating the water and home as well as cut down the electricity bills. The utilization of solar energy will help to overcome the level of pollution, global warming and keep the fossil fuel prices lower than otherwise. These kinds of cost-effective technologies are having the positive impact on the growth and demand of solar energy installation (Dickinson, 2018). However, there are some nations that are not promoting and encouraging the solar energy plants that might affect the cost of utilizing the natural resources and fuel rates due to high consumptions (Lewis & Nocera, 2006). The potential of solar energy is high and that could be enough for humans to satisfy their needs through proper management of land that can produce solar energy.
The research will focus on reasons why the solar energy is not much popular in India. India is large country and the demand for natural resources for developing electricity, fuel and other energy sectors is high. As the population is growing, the demand for energy resources is increasing. In spite of that, the local and national authorities are not having concern over development and utilization of solar energy to overcome the dependency over natural resources. The development of energy through renewable sources will be beneficial for developing nation like India to provide electricity, low rate transportation by creating awareness about solar energy. The research will look to identified reasons for less popularity of solar energy in developing and highly populated country like India. The country has potential to develop and utilize solar energy but lack of awareness is affecting the popularity.

The researcher has chosen this topic of study to analyze popularity and utilization of solar energy and its importance in the future energy development for electricity and transportation. The utilization of solar energy will be beneficial for countries to manage the resources by installing the plat for renewable energy. The researcher will identify major reasons that creating barriers in popularity of solar energy systems in India. The research will help to gain understanding about factors that affect the demand of solar energy in India. Moreover, the research will help to develop the future strategy to encourage the demand and popularity of solar systems (Kumar & et al., 2010).
The potential outcome of research involves identification of causes and factors that are hindering the opportunities for expanding the services areas of solar energy in India. The researcher will focus development of appropriate strategy and plan to promote the solar energy functions in India (Tsalikis & Martinopoulos, 2015). The identification of issues and knowledge about benefits of solar energy will help to encourage the functions for utilizing solar energy and overcome the utilization of natural resources.
Solar energy and its usages
Solar energy is one of the major emerging renewable energy sources for the human that could be used for managing daily needs at lower cost. The organizations are working on the development of solar panels that could capture and store solar power which can be utilized according to requirements. According to Pospischil & et al., (2014), the solar energy and technologies are characterized as either passive or active that depends on ways they capture, convert and distributed sunlight. The solar energy is highly accessible and beneficial for the human to utilize it in different geographical areas by building the solar plant. The leading manufacturing and warehouse organizations are using solar plan for managing the power consummation and development of renewable energy. The development and implementation of the solar plan require the land as solar panel can be established for capturing the direct sunlight and make utilization in nearby areas. For the home base purpose the people and organizations have discovered the idea of establishing the solar panel the roofs of homes to generate energy for the home purpose (Peña & et al., 2015). In addition to this, the active solar power techniques use photovoltaic, concentrated and solar thermal collectors that can store the solar energy and utilize for running the fan, pumps and lights. This kind of technology increases the production of solar energy and supporting to supply of solar energy. The active solar energy is having the positive impact on the growth and demand of renewable energy resources that could be beneficial for managing short distance transportation and electricity (Lewis, 2016).

The developed nations are using solar energy for better production and management of elasticity and transportation. The proper management of land areas and installation of solar panel is helping to maintain the high storage of solar energy. The solar power plant ad system is used for converting the sunlight into electricity. This can also be used for photovoltaic and concentrated solar power. According to Li & et al., (2015), the solar power energy has the potential to become the world’s largest source of electricity by 2050. The current growth of solar energy system is 8.7 % and the serving the 1.3 % of global areas. The commercial and personal utilization of solar energy is having vast differences and the high authority is looking to overcome the gap by creating awareness about benefits of solar energy.
Level of popularity of solar energy in India
India is the second largest country in the world by population. The demand and consumptions of energy sources are high in the areas. The import level of the country for energy resources and development of electricity is increasing. It will be harmful to the country to increase the level of fossil fuels for generating the energy. According to Olatomiwa & et al., (2015), in India, 70% energy is generated from fossil fuel that increases the cost and put the extra burden on people. The country is investing the huge amount in importing energy resources and satisfies the needs of people. The greater dependency over imported energy sources is a threat for the country that requires immediate planning and strategy for implementing the solar plant. As per the analysis, the dependency of India for energy sources will be increased by 53% to maintain the consumption level. Moreover, India is a developing nation and the industrialization level is increasing as the manufacturing and production of products and services are high (Kapoor & et al., 2014). To meet the energy needs of these large industries and development of infrastructure, the country requires the sources for making the renewable energy. However, some part of the country are having the solar plant or generating the renewable energy through wind, nuclear, tidal and geothermal sources but the lack of awareness about plantation of solar energy function and policies that government has made for promoting the solar energy are affecting the growth (Date & et al., 2014).
The demand for energy resources is high and development is low which creating issues for national government but the changes in global environmental conditions are having a significant impact on encouraging solar energy. In spite of that, the national government has sated the goals and objectives for encouraging the solar energy plant within the nation by 2022. The initial target of developing and utilizing the solar energy per day is 175 GW (Liu & et al., 2015). The objective of this initiative is to establish India as a global leader in the solar energy sector. The plan was developed but the lacking in implantation is affecting the progress for increasing production of solar energy. In addition to this, the lack of experts and monitoring of plans is hindering the opportunities for creating awareness about the effectiveness of solar energy in different regions of India (Dhakal & et al., 2014). The development of energy through renewable sources will be beneficial for developing nation like India to provide electricity, low rate transportation by creating awareness about solar energy.

Benefits of solar energy
Solar energy is beneficial for human in many ways as it can be converted into electricity and heat. The energy is freely available for all types of users but at the initial stage, they need to implement the solar plant system. There are various benefits of solar energy that have a positive impact on daily operations. As per the views of Zhang & et al., (2016) the solar energy is beneficial for the betterment of the environment and reducing the bill of energy. The development and utilization of solar energy have least negative impact on the environment compared to the other energy sources (Sharma et al., 2012). The plant of solar energy does not produce any greenhouse impact and increase the level of pollution in air and water. In addition to this, the maintenance charges of the solar plant are not much higher that could affect the cost of operations (Aman & et al., 2015). The solar plant and development of energy do not create any noise. Hence, it can be considered that development and utilization of solar energy is not having any negative impact on environment conditions.
The level of the electricity bill is increasing as the demand of services high and resources are limited. The generation of solar energy will be beneficial for developing country like India to increase the supply and production of energy which will be less costly. Moreover, an individual can also produce and store solar energy by establishing the plant. They can consume as much the requirements of them and sell the unused electricity (Zhang & et al., 2017). The self-reliance on energy will help to overcome the bill of electricity and support to manage the energy level. Apart from that, the development of plan and implementation of solar plant activities will help to create numbers of jobs in India. The renewable energy sector is growing at rapid speed. The proper planning and concern over activities will help to boost the economy and generate the numbers of jobs for young professionals. Research philosophy
There are three types of research philosophies are used that involve interpretive, positivism and realism. The positivism research is based on objectives of research and requires the primary data for managing the approach. For the current study, the researcher will use interpretive research philosophy for managing the research. The interpretive research is based on subject and helps the collect the data and analyzes the reasons that affecting the popularity of solar energy in India (Mackey & Gass, 2015). This kind of philosophy will help to derive rational and valid outcome from the gathered data.
Research approach
The successful research is having consideration of appropriate research approach that can be deductive or inductive. For the current research about the analysis of reasons why solar energy is not popular in India, the researcher will use deductive approach. According to this approach, the researcher will confirm the theories on the basis of collected data from the secondary sources (Lewis, 2015). The researcher will focus on data about benefits and analysis of factors that affecting the popularity of solar energy in India.
Research type
To conduct the research, there are majorly two types are used that involve qualitative and quantitative. The type of research is based on segmentation, need and drivers as well the barriers in the study (Flick, 2015). For the current research, the investigator has chosen the quantitative research type for collecting and analyzing the secondary data for identifying the reasons and issues behind less popularity of solar energy in India. This type of research will help to find issues and factors that hindering the opportunity for developing renewable energy sources through the solar panel.
Research design
For managing research, there is two type of researcher designs are used like descriptive and exploratory. The selection of design is based on the type of the research. The current research is based on quantitative data (Ledford & Gast, 2018). By considering this, the researcher will select exploratory research design. According to this design of research, the researcher will collect the information about the popularity of solar energy in India and identify the reasons why the growth and demand for solar energy is low in India.
Data collection
Data collection is one of the important aspects of research and the method of data collection has the significant impact on reliability and validity of data. There are majorly two types of data collection methods have been used that involve primary and secondary. Primary data collection is based on observation and survey which is based on a questionnaire. On the other hand, the secondary data is collected from sources like books and journals. For the current research, the researcher will collect the data from secondary sources (Panneerselvam, 2014). The researcher will analyze online articles and past research reports by using the keywords like solar energy and popularity in India. This kind of approach in data collection will help to collect relevant data to support the research and draw a valid conclusion and recommendation for further improvement.
For analysis of data for current research, the researcher will use thematic data analysis which is based on hypothesis (Billig, & Waterman, 2014). This kind of analysis will help to the application of different models and strategies that used by the previous researcher for analyzing the reasons for less popularity of solar energy in India. The themes will be designed and developed according to objectives of the research.
The variables of study will be reasons for less popularity of “solar energy” in “India”.
In order to carry out this research, it has been divided into five different chapters. The first chapter of research is introduction. This chapter will provide information for aim, objectives, questions and justification for chosen topic. The next chapter of research will be Literature review. This chapter will include detail information about selected topic which will involve consideration of various researches done in the past. These studies will be reviewed by researcher to build a strong theoretical background for the study. The third chapter of research is Research Methodology. This chapter will provide knowledge about tools and techniques that used for managing the research and justification of methods for particular research. The fourth chapter of research is Data analysis and findings. In this chapter of study, the researcher will analyze and the collected data by using the different methods and present the findings for research. The last chapter of study would be conclusion and recommendations. This chapter will provide conclusion of study that will be based on objectives of study. Moreover, on the basis of conclusion appropriate recommendations will be drawn for this particular study.
The budget for proposed study for identifying the reasons for less popularity of solar energy in India is $4000. The researcher will use this budget for developing the literature review for reviewing the books, journals and online articles that are not available free of cost. The budget for literature review is $1000. For developing strong theoretical background for research the researcher will purchase the data from secondary sources which will be cost around $2000. Moreover, the data structuring and analysis will be cost around $1000.
