Business Objectives
Discuss about the Ideological and Political Management of Colleges.
Travel and tour is something which is one of the most growing business in the world, with people from all the over the world increasing to travel across the world. This makes the Travel industry one of the most valuable growing firm (Han and Hyun 2015). The Book and board being a well-established firm in the UK[1] has already a well-established customer base. The only drawback of the organisation had in the past years is the fact that the organisation worked entirely in the offline platform. The world in today’s generation is running in the internet and but the B&B is hugely deficit of this factor (Fang and Law 2016). The paper will cover the topics on how the organisation can better prepare highly working marketing plans, the through market research and the requirement specifications for the purpose of developing the web site that will be the face of the organisation in the world of the internet. The paper will also cover the current working style and what changes are needed to be made that can help the organisation perform in the technological market. Also some of the examples of their firms that carry out same business and compete the B&B, and how the organisation can overcome the rivalry and be the best.
The organisation B&B can be explained as a core business to consumer firm. The entire business of the organisation depends on the customer satisfaction. IN order to get the maximum number of the customers the organisation needs to follow (Eid 2015). Thus in in order to attract more and more amount of the customers the managers in the organisation has to invent some of the new marketing strategies.
The B&B is one of the oldest and the most valuable firm in the UK for providing the Travel services, but also the working and the daily operation style of the organization is also some of the old techniques that is been used. As the organisations most of the techniques are traditional, the organisations limits to very few resources like the advertisement of the plans in the newspapers across the country, distribution through pamphlets via the market chains. The individuals have to explore the options after walking in to the organisations office. It can be said that the this one of the major drawback for the organisation as now in the modern generation many of the peoples are reluctant to such services and tend to use the internet for exploring the plans of the travel agencies (Camisón et al, 2016).
Competition in the Travel Industry
Although of the organisations set back services the organisation is very much strong enough to provide three different types of services namely the travel plans, the travel and the hotel packages and lastly the complete holiday packages. Under the travel plan a customer can only opt for the travel plans list like whether to travel by airways or though roadways. Under the plan of the travel and the hotel package the organisation provides a complete travel plan and also the destination hotel services (Pulido-Fernández 2015). Lastly under the holiday package the organisation looks after all the factors like hotels, travel rentals insurances among others for the customer and the customer can only just sit back and relax the entire holiday. The organisation also provides discounts for the members of the organisation though membership cards. This is the front end of the work that is visible to the customers.
In the back end, the work of the organization is much more complicated. When any customer request to book a plan of the organisation, at first the customer has to visit the nearest office[2]. In the office an employee of the organization notes down all the required information of the customer and takes it in an excel sheet (Mariani 2015). This includes the customer preferences like where to travel, when to travel, the budget and the other details. After that the staff contacts with the spots and fixes the holiday plan.
The main aim of the travel sector is provide the customer with world class experience and a good and enriched holiday. It can be said that the aim of the B&B is also somewhat same. The organisation wants to provide the best in class services like best travel plans, best luxurious hotels, premium travels and rentals. In this industry everything depends on the customer feedback and satisfactions (Schuckert 2015). If there is even one single negative feedback from any customer then it can hamper the entire business process[3]. The websites of the organization must have the features like the showing the best available plans, where the customer can choose for the required plan in the desired amount of the budget. Also the website must be control with the bootstrap function so that it can be used from nay of the personal computers and the mobile and the tablet devices (John and Swapna 2017). Later the organisation must move on to the mobile applications that is being the trend in the world. Other than this for the advertisement purpose the organisation must integrate with the social media sites. It will help the organization in being in the eyes of the tourist all the time.
Importance of a Well-Developed Website
The tours and travels industry is one of the most growing industry in the world and the sector is facing a huge competition (Brown 2017). There are many big and small organisations that are providing some of the most world class benefits. Other than this many of the organisation are using the modern technology that is the internet. The internet has been a huge tool for this organisation, as with the help of the internet the customers can book the entire holiday plan, look for the hotels and the travel plans. In order to the make success in the field, the B&B also needs a very well developed web application and web sites which can attract more and more customers. One of the most reputed firm in this filed is the Zicasso which uses each and every aspect of the internet in order to provide the best services (Yang and Chen 2015). In order to make the most of the market B&B needs to plan a well-developed web site, android applications. One of the other most travel agency that is ruling the traveling industry in the United Kingdom is the Omega travels. The organisation provides some of the best tours and travels all over the world. The organisation is collaboration with many of the airlines and luxury hotels all over the world is one of the sensation to the customers. One of the major competition that the B&B can give to this organisation are the factor that the B&B is one of the oldest tourism industry and hence the organisation is having a customer trust and hence have a plus point over the other organisations.
The major solution for the organisation to prosper is to introduce web applications and the websites. The web site of the organisation is the front end which must be attractive to the customers in order to gain more customer base. Further the web site must include some of the major pictures of the hotels and the destinations. Other than this the website must have the different packages that the organisation provides (Luo 2017). This can be one of the major advantage for the organisation as the if the customer gets all the nessacery information at one single place then the customer might get more and more interest.
In the background, that is the back end of the organisation needs to have a centralized servers in order to make the experience hustle free. Other than this it can also help the organization from having a reduced man force (Senbergs and Kirikova 2016). Also the organisation can focus on the cloud serveries so that the entire work of the organisation is in one place so that it can help in the time of the audit and the internal works. With the increase demand of the tour and the travel industry it can be very much helpful for the organisation to progress at this time of the technological change. The organization must know people believe that they see.
Back-End Operations
Some of the major ethical consideration in the tourism industry that are related to the storing of the user data are:
- Privacy: One of the major ethical consideration is the security and the privacy of the data of the users. When a user is registering for the site, the user shares all the personal information along with bank details, this is one of the major factor to be considered. If there is any single mishap then the user may face huge threats to personal information.
- Use of the data: The origination holds all the rights to share all the information about the user anytime. But the organisation must make sure that users data must not be used in places that are unsecured or unethically.
- Risk management: The use of the data must be done in a proper way. User data must be protected at any cost. Data must be stored in secured files and must be accessed by only authorised users.
- The organisation must also fulfil the promises that are made by the organisation regarding the tour and the server that are to be provided. If the hotel bookings
- The Tourists must be treated with proper care and it is to be made sure that there is no mishandling of the client by any of the employees or the staff and the guides of the hotel.
In order to make a website working there are some of the major functional and non- functional requirements that are needed to run the website in a proper manner. In software and system engineering a functional requirement can be explained as a component of function described as a specification of connection between the input and the outputs. Whereas the non-functional requirements can be explained as the criteria that can be used for the purpose of judging the operation of a specific system. The non-functional attributes are also known as the quality attributes of a system (Ahmed 2016).
The functional requirements that the order to make the best of the websites are Administrative functions, authentications, authorisation levels, legal and the regulatory requirements (Anjos and Gontijo 2017). These are some of the main functional requires that are needed for the organisation for the smooth operation in the digital world. Other than this the some of the major non-functional requirements that needed are scalability, capability, availability, security, maintainability, serviceability[4] and interoperability among others. The organisation needs this because of the factor this can make some of the most positive changes that the organization needs to attract.
- Authentication: This is to be done from both the user and the administrator end. The user needs to ensure proper email address and phone numbers in the website of the organisation. When the registration process is completed a onetime password is sent to the required main and phone number in order to authenticate the same. This helps the user to ensure that their data is safe.
- Administrative Function: The function of the administrator is to properly maintain the website and see that there is no functional problems with the website. Other than that the administrator needs to maintain the details of the customers, the number of the hotels and the travel options.
- Authorised levels: In this case the administrators checks the authenticity of the user data, confirming the booking and travels. The administrator logs in to the access portals, then checks for the information that is provided by the user. The administrator makes the plans with the desired hotels and the traveling options and confirms the same.
- Security: The security is one of the major factor for any website, the admins needs to ensure that the personal data of the clients are safe. Also if there is any payment related options additional payment gateways are to be used.
- Availability: This is one of the other major factor that is to be used by the admins. If there is huge amount of rush in the websites there needs to be proper allocation of the resources in order to make the website lag free. Also the website must be 24/7 available.
- Maintainability: The needs to maintain the website in a proper ways. The websites must ensure that there are no bugs, and if there is any bug in the website found then proper maintenance of the website is to be done.
- Strengths: In this case the strength of the B&B is the traditional approach of the organisation. It can be explained as the organisation is working for a very long time the brand value of the organization is very high and hence the people believe in the organization. Thus making a huge strength of for the organisation.
- Weakness: The weakness of the organisation is the non-technical part. The organisation lacks a huge part of the common technology making it difficult for the organisation to compete with the market.
- Opportunities: The opportunity of the organisation lies with the factor that that as the organisation is one of the oldest agency in the UKs, people believe in the fact that they provide best in class services. Being digitally enhanced also helps the organisation attracting more and more customers.
- Threats: Some of the major threats that the organization may face are the facts that there are millions of other such agencies that provide similar services and also has a well-developed as well as established websites which attracts tourists.
- Room booking- Here the client is the actor. The client visits the website of the organisation and at first selects the desired travel package plan, registers for the plan, then provides with the required information’s. After that the client selects the preferred room that is suitable and confirms it.
- Ticket Booking: Here the Admin is the client: The admin checks for the booking of the plan by the customers, varies the details like the personal information payment and others. Then does the required ticket booking according to the plan of the client.
- Payment: Here both the client and the admin are actor. The admins sets the required set of the payment according to the plan of the user. The client receives the amount of the payment to be done and pays the exact amount to the organisation.
As per the case study, the product backlog should contain the list of all the requirements that are needed to get to the completion of the project. This product backlog would replace all the traditional requirement statement artefacts that would have been used traditionally. It is however, not specifically needed that all the requirements for the project be documented. It prioritizes the features list, containing the short descriptions for all the functionalities that are desired for the project (Amin and Ibrahim 2016). The product backlog for this particular project would be as follows:
- Realization of the business process requirements
- Analysing of the current business process
- Recognizing the Digital Transformation in BPM
- Prioritizing the identified changes
- Publicizing angle of the changes that an organization is trying to bring in the digital transformation front
- Implementing the changes
- Rolling out the new systems to be available for production usage.
Conclusion:
Thus concluding the topic it can be said that the developing of the website is one of the must do thing of the organisation. Since the organization is one of the most prestigious travel and the tourism providing organisation it needs a digital platform where it can put on its entire plans for the providing the best in class services. The need of the social media merge up is also an important aspect of the organisation because of the fact for the publicity of the website and the applications being created.
