Behaviour management plan is every important at every place weather it’s a workplace or a school. Behaviour management plan helps in identifying the problem by picking up an effective discipline tool by writing down a plan that need to be followed. Once the behavioural plan is developed it is reviewed with other caregivers. Similarly, classroom management is also important as it reduces the misbehaviour that takes place in the class. Classroom management helps in building discipline and also creates a positive environment for students that help in learning. The main objective of classroom management is to eliminate the miss-happening and make classroom a better place to learn. If the classroom has effective plans made it provide very little time for students to misbehave. Behaviour management plan provide clear explanation of all actions that student should follow. Strong classroom management also helps the teachers to maintain a good relation with the students. It is necessary to have a behavioural management plan for classroom as it helps the student to develop appropriate behaviour. If classroom and behavioural management is acquired in a correct way, it will help the student to improve their overall grades. This report consist detail about all the beliefs and philosophy that should be used regarding learning and teaching habits. It also includes beliefs about how children learn and what impact to their change in behaviour. The role of teacher and the role of parents to support their child are discussed. Parents are teachers are the perfect mentor and can support their child to learn effectively. The report also covers the classroom management approach and its importance . The need for a behavioural management plan is also discussed. The inclusive approach that is used for behavioural management plan is analysed and some of the ways are discussed. The implication of the plan is done by considering all the strategies that are needed to work effectively with colleagues, parents, external professional and community representatives are discussed.
There are various ways through which student’s development could be achieved. The outcomes completely depend on the parental behaviour and how teachers tackle the student in school. There are many practical motivations that help in growing the proportion of children’s towards education. The development of a child depends upon the patenting that helps in building the parent-child relation mutually and dynamically. The socialization of progress supports the child to learn about new skills (Milne, 2015). Socialization helps the child to realize their potentials and calibre to achieve success. The degree of child’s growth and achievement depend upon the tutoring provided by parents and teacher at the right time.
Role of teachers and parent
The academic achievement of a child has a strong co-relation with the environment in which the child grow and the family background. Parents are the one who influence child to take part in all the academic activities. The parental teaching doesn’t need any strategy or technique as it is embedded in daily activities. Parents generally promote students to learn actively for all the on-going experiences (Natale, Messiah, Asfour, Uhlhorn, Delamater & Arheart, 2014). The parents should allow their child to experience self-exploration so that they gain confidence and get to know more about the surrounding. The expectations from the parents and teachers can help the child to push themselves and learn more (Maylor, Blackmon & Huemann, 2016) . The development in child behaviour can be cultivated by structuring all the activities and task that a child should practise at home and in school. This supports the child to keep their mind retentive towards education and their grades (Natale, Messiah, Asfour, Uhlhorn, Delamater & Arheart, 2014). The second steps that can be taken for academic achievement is the degree to which child feel responsible and participate in decision making. The goal of parenting is to make their child independent and develop the behaviour of higher studies.
Some of the techniques that need involvement of parents in structuring the effectiveness of child’s education are letting their child to get involve in reading activities so that they learn about new activities (Hayes, Douglas & Bonner, 2015). The parents should also keep their children in under complete supervision at the home by giving them some task which could help them in enhance their skills (Maylor, Blackmon & Huemann, 2016) . There should be a regular meeting between parents and teachers so that proper feedback could be used. From the research it was found that parents who remain connected to teachers have higher probability of achieving success.
The child’s achievement depends on the school environment, parents and teachers behaviour towards them. They plan an important role in the holistic development of the child. Parents and teachers are treated as a special mentor in the life of student education. They have a great contribution in shaping the overall personality of the child. Parents can act as role model in children’s life as they reaction and behaviour is adopted by their children (Kooij, Tims & Kanfer, 2015). They can act as best motivators and encourage their children’s to learn about new things. Parents are the source that helps the child to acquire skill at every stage. Teachers on the other hand support the child by offering them various challenges that will help them to experience difficult situation (Morawska, Walsh, Grabski & Fletcher, 2015). Teachers have the power to mould the child’s behaviour by guiding them about all the development skills. Apart from teachers and parents, the relation between teachers and parents promotes child to have happy learning. A good parent teacher relationship leads child to be positive towards attending school.
Classroom management approach
The child often learns the basic manners and antiquities’ from their parents by observing their daily activities (Heberle, Krill, Briggs-Gowan & Carter, 2015). As they encourage their children to get best emotional support. Teachers teach them about all the classroom routines and ask them to submit all the assignment on time. Parents on their behalf check all the notes and keep a track of all the homework send by the teachers by keeping an eye on their performance. They interact with their children about school activities and events that happened today (Sigel, 2014). Teachers on their end also send some of the remarks about their children so that parents could work upon it to overcome from the weakness. Now days, the performance graph is updated on the web portals of school which has become an easy way for teachers and parents to communicate with each other (Necochea, et. al, 2015).
Parents and teachers play a vital role in in cultivating values among their child. According to the research study it can be stated that education among students is gained from parents and teachers (Meppelder, Hodes, Kef & Schuengel, 2015). In initial age, home is the only school for children. It is the basic for getting interest in studies as parents showcase an appropriate path and actions that child need to follow. Teachers can provide best path as parents sometimes support their children even in wrong actions.
- Authoritarian- this approach says that the entire responsibility of a classroom is in the hand of teacher. They set pre-defined rules and regulations that help in controlling the classroom behaviour. The teachers set up the limit to control the students and behaviour of the classroom (Meppelder, Hodes, Kef & Schuengel, 2015). Teachers also provide a set of guidelines that need to be followed so that students get to know about the basic attributes that need to be followed. The characteristic of this approach is to modify the behaviour by reinforcing the entire positive attitude among children.
- Instructional classroom management- Teachers mostly use this approach to prevent all the mismanagement by keeping student actively involved in all the basic needs and guiding them to meet all the needs and abilities (Michel, Bosch & Rexroth, 2014). The students will learn about all the basic needs and will not engage in disruptive behaviour. Teachers identify all the misbehaviour of the students and encourage them to take better decisions.
It is important to deploy business management plan for a student so that faster development take place. It is beneficial as it allow parents and teachers to help their student to have an effective plan (Johnson, Worthington, Gredecki & Wilks-Riley, 2016). It can be challenging for teachers to plan a behaviour management plan. The formation and creation of such plans supports the child to have a quality learning environment that offers productive, manageable and better opportunities for the student to feel valuable. These plans are developed for entire class so that a positive discipline is maintained between the students (Piotrowska, Stride, Croft & Rowe, 2015). They set up rules and regulations by outlining the classroom management. Teachers ensure that a positive classroom climate is achieved by displaying and discussing rules, regulations and responsibilities that need to be taken. An alternative administration for student at risk is developed. The behavioural management plan states that child should attend school regularly and should support their children to make best use of all the learning resources that are available (Hearn, Miller, Campbell-Pope & Waters, 2017). The teachers also take care that bullying doesn’t take place as it may create an unjustifiable behaviour.
Need for a behaviour management plan
Some of the various inclusive approaches to behaviour management that could be used in schools by teachers are:
- Knowing the student- it is the first step to know about the student background and connect with them. The students who need more accommodations is given priority by offering them front seat to sit (Thegaudium, 2017). Apart from that they are made comfortable with the peers near them. The students have less focus power are made to sit on the front seat rather than window seats.
- Implement Universal Design for Learning- UDL is an approach that supports in planning and mapping the learning spectrum by keeping students engaged in learning activities (Castro, Halberstadt, Lozada & Craig, 2015). This approach focuses on building intelligence in multiple forms by expressing different ways to learn and improve the skills.
- Support Important Life Skill- The inclusive approach also involves the fact that student should be educated in general terms also. The students are taught about necessary skills and are asked to be productive by making them a part of society. They help the students in writing letter, telling time from clock and teaching various study skills tactics (Thegaudium, 2017). In case of inclusive classroom, room is opened for various service providers like special professionals.
The behavioural management plan is developed for a classroom that promotes better classroom climate, student wellbeing and inclusive pedagogical approach .The management plan of the school covers proper seated values as it promotes to good behaviour. The positive school climate offers a peaceful and respectful environment for learning. The positive environment in a classroom is generated by having a regular conversation with the student, listening to their problems and issues by taking immediate actions (Rogers, 2015). Apart from that teachers are asked to work in every condition so that no disruptive environment is created.
The behavioural plan links up the dignity of the school with their policies and regulations. The behavioural plan involves all the core values that need to be practised. It helps the student to learn about new culture by avoiding the cross cultural issues. The behaviour plan includes the list of behaviours that are acceptable and unacceptable in the school premises. The behaviour management plan also covers the anticipatory strategy that includes all the rules that need to be followed by the student individually, seating plan along with the restrictions of cell phones and other gadgets also cover in the behaviour plan. It also states the way student should communicate with the teacher, as they are not allowed to slang language or disrespect them (Stiefel, et. al, 2017). These plans enable student to safe and supported. Behavioural plan is designed in such a way that it acknowledges teachers to manage their classroom in an effective way. The behavioural plan is implicated to add the fairness by offering opportunities equally to all the students without being bias. Thus it is important that school and staff should be scrupulously fair and deal with all the students evenly. It is also suggested that school behaviour plan should involve parents while making decisions so that if any difficulties arise parents can see their child’s behaviour (Bemphchit, 2017).
While designing the behavioural plan, the elements that should be considered are involving students in decisions and triggering them to identify target behaviours. BSP can be terminated when students are significant to adapt to positive change over a sustained period (Stiefel, et. al, 2017). This could be done by taking a regular follow-up by monitoring all the sustained achievement in the student’s ability to manage and better engage in his/her learning.
To work effectively with the colleagues, one should listen to them actively, should have a face to face communication so that ideas should be shared openly (Mashable, 2017). The trust should be earned so that effective communication can go for a longer run.
To work effectively with parents and care takers, they should be accomplished by keeping a cool attitude so that they understand in a better way; better community interaction should take place take. The interaction with parents should always be in a low voice as it helps in building confidence and shows respect towards them (Mashable, 2017). They are often showcased the way for their child’s progress.
To work effectively with external professionals, the boundaries regarding the functions of an organisation are introduced. The information regarding corporate rules and culture that is followed in school is shared with them. External professionals offer valuable and additional service that helps the student to learn in a productive manner.
To work effectively with community representative, there should be a good communication skill and should also have a gratitude of empathy. A person should peruse good organisational skills that help in handling multiple tasks at the same time by offering feedback.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that behaviour management is very important as it helps students to build a positive attitude towards their learning skill. It can be stated that parental teaching doesn’t require any strategies as they just push their child to learn more and improve their skills. The behaviour plan make things smooth and also removes the chances of conflicts. The implication of behaviour management can be done by using inclusive approach that it all about knowing the student and supporting them to develop better life skills.
