Activity 1: Knowledge Questions
1. Emotional Intelligence is that quality of an individual that lets them identify and manage their own emotions and emotions of others. The individuals recognize different feelings and classify it in most appropriate way through that capability. Self-regulation is very important individuals should have control over their own feelings like, depression, anxiety. It is very important not to react while one is in stress or anger because actions or decisions taken when a person is emotionally down might lead to disastrous results.
Self Awareness in order to have control over one’s emotions, self awareness is very important, if an individual fails to recognize his/her own feelings there is no way they can control it (Ciarrochi and Mayer 2013).
2. Emotionally effective people can understand the feelings and emotions of others, being emotional effective one can understand the needs of others they can use their ability to motivate others especially if they are in such position in the organization they can easily motivate the workers to attain objectives (Ciarrochi and Mayer 2013).
Example 1, Emotional intelligent leaders in situation of low morale of the employees can boost their morale and motivate them to work harder.
Example 2, Emotional intelligent leader in the time of conflict can solve problems easily because they know to handle the emotions of the people, conflicts can lower the motivation level of employees (Druskat Mount and Sala 2013).
Example 3, knowing the needs of the employees can make it easier for the leaders to motivate the employees, according to the needs of the employees they can be motivated.
3. While working in a place where there is cultural diversity it is very important to respect each other, and have an idea about other cultures, one should always avoid racist comments, which might hurt the sentiments of others. Based on the culture people belong they have their weak points where they can get emotional, in many eastern countries alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited while in many cultures there is no such restrictions, therefore in social gatherings one should be careful while offering them alcohols, they might get offended.
4. In situations of conflict in an organization, emotional intelligence leaders listen to both the sides, they understand the reason of the conflicts, they try to empathize with both parties and by being neutral find solution to the problems or settle the dispute (Druskat Mount and Sala 2013).
1. Explain emotional intelligence and discuss the importance of self-regulation and self-awareness when dealing with others.
1. The three emotional strengths I have are, as a person I am very patient, I can empathize with others and I am very friendly person and can easily mix with others. Being patient helps a lot. A leader should never lose his temper on his or her employees and try to be calm. My three emotional weaknesses include I get emotionally attached to people, I do not confront people easily, I sometimes sacrifice my own needs for fulfilling the needs of others. A leader should always know to confront people directly if they make mistakes, in case if they do not do so, the employees might take advantage of this attribute of the leader and may continue with the same behavior.
2. The stress in my personal lives are
I am stressed about my career plan, what career should I opt.
I am planning to pursue a mountaineering course but due to hectic schedule I have been postponing it.
I have stress related to my health issues, sometimes due to work load I get sick.
I am stressed about getting a job after the completion of my course
The stresses of my professional life are

I am stressed about the targets and how to meet them
While working in team it is a stress to coordinate with other team members.
I am stressed about finishing my work on time.
I had planned to pursue a course in mountaineering but due to my studies the course I have to postpone, this has now become a reason for my stress. I should do proper planning and set my priorities this will reduce my stress. I have too much work load in my professional life so, I will start smart working by developing my skills.
3. The four emotional triggers that affected my emotional reactions are
When someone tells his or her problems, I get over emotional and indulge too much in their problems.
Keeping calm for long times sometimes results in losing temper very badly, in such cases I tend to be very angry on others.
I usually talk too much, when a conversation starts I involve myself too much. I am interfering in the conflicts of others.
I think sometimes I need not interfere too much in the conflicts of others, because people at times have certain conflicts that needs to be solved by them.
4. Role Model is a person, who has a personality that affects others, role models have the capability to influence others, people follow their role model, they try to be like their role model. Role model has traits that set an example for people to come out of a difficulty, for example they make strategies to come out of the crisis, they always have a plan. The negative traits can be, when the person who is celebrated and aspired suddenly does something ethically wrong it hurts the sentiments of the followers or the employees (Boardman et al. 2013).

6. I will call the employee and tell him the rules of the organization first, and then tell him that he should not be taking too much time for lunch, half an hour is enough for lunch. I will talk to him in very polite manner so that he does not get offended.
