Business descriptions of the two companies
This assignment is about the development of the communication network of the previously selected two companies. The business of the telecommunication industry required better communication network for communicating with the stakeholders of the business. This industry is in the phase of high growth with the update of the technologies uses in the business of the companies in this industry (Çetinkaya et al. 2013). The tools of the Information and Communication technology are highly updating which is affecting the business operations of the whole telecommunication industry. This is the scenario of the total industry. In case of considering the individual companies, both the companies are in growing phase. Woolworths has already expanded their business in the international market, where Pureprofile is trying to grow more in their business and expand their business area. These factors are forcing the companies to improve their communication strategy for operating their business operations in smoother way. In order to achieve this target, the companies required to upgrade their networking infrastructure for supporting the new technologies for communicating with the stakeholders of their business. In this assignment, a brief description of the business of the two selected companies will be provided. Then the different types of requirements of the improvement in the area of the ICT use and the networking system will be discussed in details. Both the companies are facing high growth in their business which is increasing the demand of the ICT tools for handling the business operations. The various types of improvements of the ICT tools and the use of internet technology in the business operations will be discussed in this paper. The cloud ERP technology and big data platform developing are also discussed in this paper.
The two companies that will be considered for the assessment of this assignment are previously selected in the prior assignments. The first one is Woolworths which is one of the biggest telecommunication companies in Australia. They have expanded their business to the international level. They have their branches in different countries of the whole world. Therefore, the communication network of the company should be very efficient for communicating with the stakeholders of their business over the whole world. Another company selected for the research work is Pureprofile. This is a SME in the telecommunication industry in Australia. They have limited target market of their business in the country. They are also trying to expand their business with the parent company which deals with the ICT services. This organization also has a high level of opportunity of future growth by merging the business of the parent company and the new telecommunication services of the company. In order to expand their business and complying with the latest technology, this company also should update or improve the networking infrastructure.
Uses of the advance ICT tools for improvised operations
In the previous assignment, it has been found that both the companies are using the standard ICT tools for the communication purpose. Since the last few years many developments have occurred in the area of the ICT tools. The new tools brought lots of new facilities in the area of the information handling and communicating with the people. All the platforms of telecommunications, information delivery, broadcasting and computing the relevant information of the business organizations have been updated over the past few years (Huarng 2015). The rapid growth of the ICT tools is bringing the lots of advantages in communication which requires greater bandwidth of the network. The first requirement for the improvement of the communication network of the company is to increase the bandwidth of the communication network. The standard IP protocol is using in the current ICT tools of the communication process. In order to increase the efficiency of the communication network of the companies, they should use the spread of Internet Protocol (IP) based on the next-generation networks (NGNs) (Kalish et al. 2015).
Both the companies are using the internet as the backbone of the communication network. They are utilizing the increased online shopping tendency of the common people. The companies are using email facility of the internet technology. Woolworths is using the information system for the efficient handling of the relevant information regarding the business. The company needs to share the system in the World Wide Web. This will give the ability of handling the system by the operation managers of the company in different sectors. This will enable the opportunity of working more collaboratively in more transparent manner. Pureprofile also needs the use the information system also (Martucci et al. 2012). They are trying to expand their businessin broader market. They also require the use of the internet in the area of the information system for enabling the use of the system among the management authorities who are working in different area of the world where the company is conducting their business. They are using the web platform for conducting the online business by using the internet technology. They are also using the social media platform for promoting their business and to develop good relationship with the public or the target customers. They have to upgrade the uses of the online business platform and the social media tools for getting more effective outcome of their business operations. Both the companies have to pay attention in the area of security constraints while increase the use of the internet technology. The hackers are becoming potential threats to the organizations (McMahon et al. 2014). They are using up to date technologies for attacking the networks which have some confidential information. The information systems of the companies are associated with the financial information of the companies. This information should be protected and kept confidential. At present the market competition has increased to a high level. All the companies are not playing the market competition game in a fair manner. Sometimes the hackers work for their own profit by hacking the finical information or stealing money from the online transaction. Sometimes they work for some companies to hack the confidential information of their competitor companies for achieving better profit and success in an illegal way. Both the companies have to take care of this fact. They need to build a strong network with the efficient safety devices and software programs for preventing the attacks of the hackers. They need to employ a group of IT people who will be engaged with the development, maintenance and upgrade of the information system and networking system of the companies (Sterbenz et al. 2013). The companies have to pay attention in the area of firewall protection to the computer systems of the network. Many hi-tech products are available in the area of the computer network security. The companies have to use these security products for ensuring the confidentiality of the networking system used for handling the confidential information of the business. Standard security protocols should be used for the maintenance of the security of the communication network. Individual computer systems of the company should have antivirus programs for preventing the virus attacks which can damage the system and information. Some important development area of the internet uses are described in the section below.
Improvement of the Internet uses
Woolworths and Pureprofile both are using the online platform for conducting their business. They have their own websites for displaying the products and services. The users are also able to place order through the website of Woolworths. In case of Pureprofile, people are able to see the products only. They are not able to place order through the site. The websites of the company should have the ability of ordering the items as well as the online money transaction facility. This will enhance the level of communication with the customers and the business operations will be easier through this. The information regarding the customers’ feedbacks is increasing day by day. The companies should synchronize themselves for handling the pressure of new data information (McDysan 2014). In this area, the companies have to consider the bandwidth again. Beside the bandwidth the data server of the website should also be updated for storing more data. In order to improve the communication infrastructure of the companies to match the new demands for the potential growth of the business of the companies have to take any decision based on the individual operations of them. Woolworths has a lot of customers who are using the services for their personal uses. They also have other business organizations as their potential customers. On the other hand, most of the customers of Pureprofile are other business organizations. Therefore, both the companies need to use the online B2B platform for conducting their efficient business.
Cloud ERP has become very popular in these days. Use of the cloud ERP has changed the environment of the business in the past few years. This is helping the business of all the sectors in their communication strategy. As the business of Woolworths is conducting in the international level, they should use the cloud ERP system for handling their information system. Cloud ERP is able to give potential advantages to Pureprofile also. This scheme requires the internet facility as the backbone of the communication infrastructure of the companies. Woolworths is using the cloud ERP facilities for their business communications. The implementation cloud ERP will help both the organizations to reduce the cost of maintaining the communication Distributed computing gives IT capacities to associations by means of a system. The idea of cloud ERP alludes to an innovation base model that empowers a few sorts of processing undertakings to be performed over a network (Gailloux et al. 2012). A distributed computing base is made out of a few sorts of equipment segments (e.g. servers, networking frameworks and system segments), programming application segments (projects, administrations and conventions) and data. The system can be a neighborhood or wide zone system like the Internet and the system relies on upon the kind of cloud, a private cloud, open cloud or a half breed distributed computing administrations. A private cloud foundation is made and conveyed just for a solitary association and can be overseen by the same association or by an outsider while an open cloud empowers general access to all associations. A half and half cloud consolidates the components of open and private mists and conveys a solitary cloud arrangement (Malmodin et al. 2014).
The companies should use the private cloud ERP technology in their business operations. This will enable the opportunity of having greater security in their business related information and operations that will be handled over the cloud ERP technology. The main advantage that will be gained through the use of the cloud ERP system are cost reduction, scalability of the data, higher availability of the system, high automation and the efficient purchasing management. The telecommunication companies will be able to have all the relevant information about their different types of plans and services provided to the different business sectors. This will also help them develop follow up plan for the different types of business operations (Battistella et al. 2013). In order to use the cloud ERP platform in the communication strategy of the companies, they have to introduce some changes in their networking systems. The computers of the internal networking structure of the companies will not be required to have their own data servers. All the required information will be stored in the cloud data base. The information system of the companies will not be installed in the local machines of the companies. Instead of this the system will be loaded in the cloud server. The employees of the companies’ will be able to have access to the system with proper authentication id and passwords (Bharadwaj et al. 2013).
Big data use has become very popular in these days, this is providing a great opportunity of analyzing the huge amount of data for taking more superior decisions regarding the business operations. The big data will help the companies to have optimal quality of routing by analyzing the network traffic. The data about the customer feedbacks and different types of services provided by the companies are huge amount of data (Battistella 2014). In order to get the effective level of outcomes, the use of big data is must. The problem is that the normal data base management system or the traditional tools of the ICT are not sufficient for analyzing the big data. In this context, the companies should upgrade their networking systems with the advance system requirements for the big data analysis. The computer systems of the companies should have the hi-tech software which will be able to handle the big data. Hadoop is the most popular software system which is using by most of the business organizations (Bigliardi et al. 2012).
Both the two companies can use the Hadoop system for the analysis of the big data. As the businesses of the companies are increasing rapidly, the amount of data is increasing. Woolworths is already having problems for managing the data about their global business. The big data analytics will help them to overcome the problems they are currently facing. They have the immediate need of using the big data analytics (Pagani 2013). Business of Pureprofile is not so big at this time, so it can be said that this company do not have the immediate requirement of the big data use. They also have the aim of being one of the large telecommunication company and they are getting enough success in their business. In this way, they will also become a large organization very soon. Then they will also require big data in near future.
Advantages of the various advance technologies have been analyzed in this paper. It is true that the discussed technical innovation will result a high level efficiency in the system but the technical innovations will require a lot of money also. Most of the organizations are acing the challenges of adopting the new technologies in the area of the financial management. Therefore, all the improvisation is not feasible. The managers if the two companies have to understand the current needs of the business and improve the ICT tools.
Woolworths should start the use of cloud ERP and big data analytics immediately. They have expanded their business to a broad area, which requires a lot of data to handle. They should adopt these technologies for achieving the better efficiency in decision making process. This will require an initial level of investment, but the higher profit level of the business will be sufficient to manage the initial level of investment.
In order to adopt the new technologies, the company should train their employees for handling the new systems. They should arrange an effective level of staff training where the ICT professionals will train the employees who will have the responsibilities of handling the systems on behalf of the company. This is very important as the inappropriate handle of the system may be the cause of huge damage to the business of the company.
Pureprofile don’t have to use the cloud ERP technology or the big data analysis platform immediately as they are juts growing. The current business operations of the company can be handled with the traditional ICT tools currently using by the company. They have to focus in the area of the management of the e-marketing tools they are using. The online money transaction scheme should be used by the company through the website of the company. In this context, the improvisation of the security platform of the networking system of the company is very important. They should engage hi-tech network security devices and software systems for the protection of the company’s network from the potential threats such as hackers and virus.
Improvement of the network security protocols is also important for the network of Woolworths also. The security threat of the online business operations are increasing data by day. In order to get rid of these security threats, both the companies are required to install advance level of security protocols to their networking systems.

Cost benefits analysis of the big data platform implementation of Pureprofile
After analyzing the opportunity of the technical improvement of the networking infrastructure of Woolworths and Pureprofile, it can be concluded that the technical innovation is highly recommended for both the companies. The ICT tools have become the necessary part of the business organizations in every sector. The telecommunication sector has more demand of the ICT tools as they are working in the technical sector. Internet technology is the backbone of using the ICT tools. The cloud ERP technology is adding new advances in the area of the internet technology. The companies in the telecommunication industry can have greater benefits from the use of the cloud ERP technology. Private cloud ERP can be most preferable one for the two companies selected for the research work. The impact of the new technical innovation and how these can be incorporated within the existing infrastructure of the companies have been discussed in this paper. It has been found that Woolworths should start the use the cloud ERP and big data analytics. They should also introduce training programs for the employees for handling the new technical additions. Improvement of the e-marketing tools and the website is enough for Pureprofile at this moment.
Conclusion:
The two chosen company’s networking and telecommunication strategies have been analyzed and some suggestions have been given for the improvement of the existing networking communication strategy. The chosen organizations were not of same sizes, one is a big business organization and another is a medium business organization. In this context, the infrastructures of the two organizations were different. Therefore, different types of suggestions have been provided for the two organizations. The big organization (Woolworths) has been recommended to use the cloud ERP system where the small one (Pureprofile) has been suggested to use the big data analytics for the improvement of their business communication process.
