Assignment Overview
This assignment is concerned with all the previous reassignment made with respect to research management. Different aspects of conducting and managing research were undertaken in the previous assignments and this assignment will be focused on learning outcomes achieved through the preparation of the previous 3 assignments. In the previous assignments, research was conducted on identifying the impact of climate change on international strategies of business organizations.
During the initial stages, the team was so focused on identifying a problem in the current business environment on the basis of which research can be conducted. The suggestion of selecting a topic in relation to climate change and its impact on overall business operations was suggested by me. This topic was selected by me like climate change as becoming one of the most essential critical problems for the environment as well as business organizations (Seggelen-Damen and Dam, 2016). The impact of climate change on business organizations is also increasing as the government all across the world is developing rules and regulations for reducing the impact that business operations have on the environment.
In addition to that distribution of roles and responsibilities among the team members was also undertaken by me. This was done by identifying the skills and knowledge of different team members and identifying the requirements of different research activities to be undertaken. It is very essential to ensure that the skills of team members and requirements in the project are properly aligned in order to achieve the learning outcomes of the research management process (Thudt, 2018). The entire team has participated effectively in problem identification and development of research questions. It was evident that the problem under consideration will be related to primate change and its impact on business operations but a specific part of the business organization was required to be identified. The impact of globalization on business operations is very significant and this was one of the primary reasons that international business practices undertaken by different business organizations were the primary focus of the research.
On the basis of this analysis, it can be said that I have learned to develop and conduct pre-planning activities in relation to research more effective manner after completing previous assignments (Wang, Liu and Cai, 2019).
During the initial stages, it was decided that only primary data will be used for the collection of data but I suggested that collection of secondary data will be helpful in supporting the evidence collected from primary data. This was the primary reason that the literature review was conducted so that effective and efficient support can be provided to the conclusions made in the research analysis process. My primary focus in the literature review process used to identify different articles that were issued in reputed journals (Harris and Sandhu, 2017). In addition to that time factor was also one of the essential factors that were considered during the selection process. For the effective and efficient collection of secondary data, it was important to select journal articles that were issued in recent times as climate change has been changing effectively over the period of time.
Personal Learning Experience
For the purpose of providing effective and efficient arguments with respect to the literature review, each of the articles was selected and analysed separately so that conclusions can be made accordingly. At the end of the literature review, I developed my own contribution after identifying open and provided by different authors (Sharp, Peters and Howard, 2017). My primary focus at the end of the literature review was to summarise the findings identified in each of the journal articles undertaken as it will help in comparing findings of secondary data with conclusions made with the help of primary data. After completing the literature review, it can be said that it is one of the most efficient use sources of secondary data but its efficiency is totally dependent on the reputation and relevance of journal articles and authors (Easterby-Smith, Thorpe and Jackson, 2015).
Following was the contribution made by me with respect to the selection and development of research methodology-
Research methodology- Suggestion for selecting exploratory research was given by me as it is one of the most efficient methods of collecting the data from the intended target and making conclusions after the effect of inefficient analysis.
Research approach- I contributed effectively in suggesting the deductive approach of research. I also contributed effectively to the development of hypothesis as these hypotheses are required to be compared with the conclusions made to identify the relationship between the factors under consideration i.e. climate change and international strategies of businesses (Quinlan et.al, 2019).
Data collection- All the members contributed equally to the collection of data from the primary sources. The total number of questionnaires through which data has been collected was equally divided among the team members in order to ensure that total efforts made by with respect to the collection of data are equal.
Analysis and interpretation- My responsibility was to analyse the data that was collected from secondary sources. At the end of the literature review, I summarised all the opinions provided by different authors in journal articles and compare them with the conclusions made by other team members with respect to the primary data (Petrova et.al, 2016).
My experience in conducting this research was very good as it was one of the few kinds of research conducted in relation to climate change. On the basis of this result, I have arrived at the outcome that business organizations can have a significant impact on the environment. It can be said that one of the primary reasons behind the increase in the growth rate of climate change is non-sustainable practices undertaken by a business organization and it is required to be changed over the period of time. It is very essential for business organizations to understand the importance of the environment for the general public as well as their own existence in the future. Lack of environmental rules and regulations from 1970- 2005 was one of the primary factors that have put the long-term negative impact on the environment (Acker, Wagner and McGinn, 2018). During the literature review, it was also identified that government organizations are becoming more aware of the requirement of changing day to day operations of large scale business organization especially manufacturing organizations.
I have also learned from this research that planning stages one of the most efficient factors that are required to be focused upon by team members that are undertaking the research. In addition to the lack of communication between the team members can also effectively reduce the possibility of effective and efficient achievement of projected learning outcomes.

Learnings from the experience
- Foundation of the effective and efficient research process is developed during the planning stages which involves problem identification, topic selection, defining research questions, dividing roles and responsibilities, etc.
- Ineffective communication among team members will increase the probability of failure in research.
- A combination of secondary data and primary data is more useful in making effective and efficient conclusions with respect to the subject matter.
- Following a structured methodology of research is very essential for project team members as it helps in providing direction to the research process (Maylor, Blackmon and Huemann, 2016).
- There are various factors that are required to be considered in selecting a journal article for literature review such as time of publishing, source material, the experience of authors, etc.
