Key concerns associated with the sports industry
Sports governance stands for a practice of power with the consideration provided to influence the authority as well as the nature of decision-making practice. According to the studies, governance can occur at the national, state, and local level (Geeraert 2018). Analysis has presented that there are three key concerns associated with the sports industry that includes the Development Of Strategic Goals and route, the board of the organization supervises the performance of the association to confirm it accomplishes these strategic areas as well as the leadership capability to address the assurance of good governance in sports, the roles and duties of all participants should be clearly defined (Geeraert 2018).
Based on this determination the discussions consisted in the paper are presented in two parts, in part A there is the elaboration of factors in the board and the broader organization support and constrain leadership and the impact of leadership on the board and its members associated with the not-for-profit sports boards. In part B, issues faced by the not-for-profit sports board member are mentioned.
In the following section the elaboration of factors in the board and the broader organization support and constrain leadership and the impact of leadership on the board and its members associated with the not-for-profit sports boards as well as the issues faced by the not-for-profit sports board member are mentioned: –
While exploring the leadership concept within the governance of the non-profit sport it is determined that leadership capabilities in non-profit sports governance have experienced limited attention that has triggered an increase in leadership issues in the particular domain. According to the research on leadership in sports, governance develops a holistic perspective considering the key issues, complexities, and challenges embedded with the operations of non-profit sports organizations (Hassan, Takos & O Boyle 2021). Previous research has presented that they are primarily four key concepts associated with leadership in non-profit support governance that include the development of the crucial dyadic relationship, shared leadership, facilitative leadership as well as collective leadership. However comprehensive analysis of the factors associated with these concepts has presented that shared leadership holds a balance of power between a board member and chairperson, and it has an impact on this strategic leadership. Alongside this, it is determined that facilitative leadership holds a significant impact on Federated networks that focuses on the increase in honesty between sports boards (Buchholtz 2021). Whereas the collective board leadership focuses on consensus-driven decisions as well as the notion of leadership on its formal position. Based on this understanding it can be stated that however, the above-mentioned factors have a significant association with non-profit sports governance there is still a gap associated with effective leadership to drive the organization towards better opportunities.
Further studies have presented that in the concept of volunteerism and non-profit sports governance it is important to focus on the distribution of leadership, and leadership skills as well as understand the relationship between leadership and volunteerism. Based on this understanding it can be stated that Leadership ambiguity and its involvement in interpretations of leadership supports leadership operations within non-profit sports organizations by offering operational focus at the expense of strategic leadership to improve the present role of board members (Leblanc 2020). In addition to this while focusing on the contribution of distributed leadership within non-profit sports organizations, it is identified that with the appropriate distribution of leadership capabilities the leadership capabilities can be triggered with better trust building and increased understanding of shared leadership. Furthermore, it can be stated that volunteerism has a significant impact on leadership capabilities as the voluntary nature of board positions stands for a significant barrier to leadership capabilities. Hence in this context to upsurge the impact of leadership and empower the leaders with better leadership capacity arrangement of other compensations or remuneration may have a significant positive impact. Alongside this improving the board positions in terms of responsibilities and governance idea selection of qualified leaders might have a significant impact on the success of leadership within non-profit support governments.
Factors that support and constrain leadership in non-profit sports governance
According to the studies the existence of shared respect and faith was professed as a precondition to the founding of mature relationships amongst those related with voluntary sports organization boards (Ryan 2019). In addition to this leadership stands for a unique context that advocate for the acceptance of modern theories and provision the notion of multi-theoretical frameworks with the aim to commence investigate in the non-profit domain. Based on this determination in the below section the impact of leadership on the board and its members: –

- It empowers the organization to identify leaders for their management aids to the board and organization.
Followed by a detailed analysis it is determined that there are several issues experienced by the not-for-profit sport board member identity. According to the studies role identity represents as the role that people play when holding specific social positions in groups. As per the Role identity theory suggests that persons construct their individualities based on reserves in the social relationships rather than, as demographic investigate suggests, on the communal groups to that they could claim membership (Westermark and Curran 2018). Based on the above determination two key aspects has been identified that includes the proximal and distal. The proximal affects include inappropriate leadership as well as distal impact on the role identity refers to income that directly affects the competencies of member of the board organization of Sport Industry.
Apart from this lack of work satisfaction and common interest of the board members are the other role identity factors conflict with sport board member identity.
Followings are the role identity variation associated with the not-for-profit sport board member identity concept: –
Gender- is one of the factors that is associated with the not-for-profit sport board member identity as there is a gender biases in selection of the board member in case of female sport and male sport.
Sport experience- is one of the factors that need consideration for role identity. It is important for a board member to have comprehensive knowledge on specific sport.

As per the studies adoption of appropriate role identification model in relevance to gender equity, sports experience as well as position support the organization to select competent member that support the performance of individual as well as the organization. In addition to this work satisfaction and shared interest support the wellbeing of board members.
