Effective Communication to Solve Employee Challenges
Question:
Discuss About The Learning Communication Skills In Medicine?
As a manager, I have called a meeting of the staffs at the end of the shift tomorrow as I can gain suggestions from the different employees or staffs who are working in the café. I felt that the things in the café were going smoothly, however few hitches has to be analyzed in an effective manner wherein I suggested the employees that:
- It is required to ensure that the communications from our side helps in stating expectations as this will help in solving the matter in an effective manner, as this will help to solve the issues relating to suppliers. Proper track has to be maintained in order to deliver all the orders on time (Arnold and Boggs 2015)
- There will be changes in the sudden leave and entire structure of leave as this will help in reducing the issues of unplanned leaves. Different policies and procedures of sick leave or other causal leaves will be implemented under different acts
- Proper renovation has to be done as this will help in solving the issues faced by the customers as the pavement umbrella idea has to be changed
- Proper technological advancements has to be done as this will help in solving the issues handling the different transactions online (Ford 2014)
As a manager, I would be fixing a meeting with Julia, as this will help me in making her understand the situation and the reaction of the customers. I will make her understand the health and safety issues are essential in nature, as this will help in maintaining reputation in a positive manner. I will tell Julia to take a short leave and visit the doctor, as this will help in recovering soon. Due to health and safety norms of the organization, it is against the norms of the company and this will affect the reputation and sales of the company. I will try to convince her to take sick leave for few days, this will help her to recover, and this will help to save the reputation of the company as well (Sung and Choi 2014).
In the staff meeting, I would appreciate the ideas that have been provided by Cindy, as this will help in increasing the sales of the company in the summer. However, this idea is not appropriate in nature wherein the mission of the company is to enhance the business of our customers. Our main motive is to provide high quality products of bakery and continuously improve the services provided to gain long-term success. The vision of Holmes will be living proof that will include renovation in implementing success for the organization.
I will be fixing a meeting with Larry wherein I will make him understand that the company policies and procedures have to be followed and it should not be taken lightly. The main motive of the customer is to the provide satisfaction to the customers as this will help the company to gain competitive advantage (Khan et al. 2016). I would warn Larry that if he continues to do same kind of mistakes in a repetitive manner, I would need to take strict legal actions against him and sack him if the norms are not followed in a proper manner (Shah, Hussain and Rahman 2016).
As a manager, I would call Nadia and tell her to explain how such mistake happened and I will ask her to provide written justification for the mistake that has been done by her. I will suspend her for the mistake that has been done as this is a silly mistake and the entire amount will be deducted from her salary in the next month. I will do this as in this way, it will be helpful for her to learn that such nuisances has to be reduced and the other employees will learn a lesson from it as well (Cascio 2018).
Health and Safety Policies: Maintaining Reputation and Success
As a manager, I would try to understand the different issues of the employees in the café and solve the issues accordingly. I will consult with all the staffs and we can try to introduce home delivery services, as this will help to maintain their customer base in an effective manner. I will try to implement proper communication with employees and solve the issues effectively (Akey et al. 2017).
As a manager, I would try to implement proper communication between Abdul and Angelo. I feel that proper communication skills are essential and there should be any kind of gap in the process of communication. I will make them sit together, tell them to sort out the problems, as the entire mistake was not of Abdul, and tell them to manage the entire situation effectively as well. I will try to explain them that working in diverse groups and culture is essential as this will help in gaining productivity and this will help in improving the reputation of the company as well (Brewster and Hegewisch 2017).
As a manager, I would have called Vanessa for an interrogation and ask her whether the given complaint by Larry is honest or not (Temminck, Mearns and Fruhen 2015). If she would have confessed for the same, I would I have made her understood that it is unethical to behave in such a manner and that it is important for her to understand that Holmes is all about honesty and integrity and that this is not the manner in which the employees should be behaving (Tahir et al. 2014).
Alternatively, in order to ensure that the waiters are happy with the system, a notice would be issued to all the customers in order to ensure that they do not give separate tips to the customers and instead just drop their tips in the be placed beside the reception. This would ensure that all employees get equal tips (Kurtz, Draper and Silverman 2017).
A proper work place policy is required to be issued which will ensure that the employees ensure that they dress properly. At the time of joining, they have to see to it that they are well aware of the policies in advance in order to avoid any confusion in the future (Kinicki et al. 2014). Thereafter, if the hotel wants to maintain its image, it should be considerate towards the employees who are not financially strong and ensure that they have proper uniform available to solve their issue (Dell, Newton and Petroff 2016).
In the given case, Nadia should be encouraged to perform better. Praising her would form an essential part of Performance Management. Just like when employees are corrected in cases where they go wrong, they should also be encouraged when they show a good behavior and work culture (Pee and Lee 2015).At the next staff meeting, this move by Nadia should be praised and she should be provided with recognition. The manager must motivate her to continue performing in this manner.
Improving Sales: Implementing High-Quality Bakery Products
- Given a onetime bonus as a token of encouragement.
- Sent for further training
- Given greater responsibilities.
The role-play that had been undertaken by me was of a manager of Holmes Café and the experience was interesting, as I had to undertake different challenges to solve issues faced by organization and employees.
The manager was a positive role model as he tried to take different challenges that were faced by the manger in the organization. The manager tried to implement proper communication skills along with implementation of different health and safety policies in the organization as this has helped them in solving the issues of the employees effectively. However, the manager was strict in nature when it was relating to the image of the company wherein he implemented different rules wherein he sacked an employee wherein the credit card transaction made by the employee was wrong and it affected the company.
The manager tried to convince the different members of the organization in such a manner that this has helped the employees to sort out the different problems and issues and sorted them out with different proper skills of communication.
The manager showed proper support and commitment for the different goals of the organization. He has looked into the different kind of matters of the organization wherein proper change was mandatory and it included the other areas wherein the issues of the employees were handled effectively. The different policies relating to health and safety were implemented as this helped in maintaining proper effectiveness in the café.
The manager communicated properly and in an accurate manner with the different issues and other particulars in an effective manner. The manager tried to analyze the different situations in an effective manner as this will help in sorting the issues effectively. The manager tried to understand the issues faced by the customers by keeping a record of the comments provided by them and solved them effectively.
The manager showed proper integrity, respect and empathy to the different employees and the others in the organization. For instance: during the winter season, when the sales of the company were going down, as there were fewer sales of the different pastries and cakes. It was seen that the manager of the company tried to understand the difficulties of the employees and sorted the problem by including the different items that helped the employees to perform their tasks effectively.
The manager was helpful for the employees who were working in the café and tried to respect the different issues faced by the employees of the café in an effective manner. The manager tried to analyze the situation as this helped in gaining the confidence to perform well in the organization and solved the issues efficiently as well.
Yes, the manager called for a staff meeting wherein the suggestions were taken from different members of the organization. The manager informed the employees about the different issues that is faced by the organization and tried to inform them if the same kind of issues persist, then strict actions has to be taken against the employees along with the suppliers. He asked for suggestions from the different employees to resolve the issues efficiently.
Strictly Adhering to Company Norms and Procedures
Yes, the manager encouraged the different employees to take responsibility of the different tasks that has been performed by them effectively. The managers tried to provide proper training and development program wherein the employees were taught that there would be different issues that have to be handled by them in an effective manner. The manager has developed training program wherein practical knowledge was provided to the individuals and this helped the employees to perform their tasks effectively in the future as well.
The manager had undertaken both the tasks that include monitoring the performance of the team as to ensure that the goals are achieved and there is progress in the tasks that has been performed by them. Furthermore, the manager delegated the different tasks among the employees in the organization. The manager monitors the performance of the team wherein there kind of policies and procedures were implemented wherein this helped the employees to be serious about performing their tasks and gain competitive advantage (Falola, Osibanjo and Ojo, 2014).
The suppliers did not provide the delivery of different seafood items on time and this has affected the brand image of the company as well. In this scenario, the manager of the company called a staff meeting wherein everyone provided their opinion and it was decided that track of the things delivered by the suppliers has to be taken into consideration as this helped the organization to perform better (Certo 2015). Furthermore, the manager of the café delegated the tasks and responsibility among the different employees of the organization wherein communication skills were generated among the employees to avoid the issues of miscommunication and the communication gap between the different employees in the organization.
