HWK01C
After reading the first chapter of by Alan Evan, Kendall Martin, Mary Anne Poatsy I have a better understanding of what CIS120 will cover and how it will benefit me.
Almost all fields now require applicants to be computer literate, including the medical field. As a future nurse this will be expected of me as well. While I don’t know the exact system hospitals will use, my learning experience in this course will help.
I believe chapter 5, System Software: The Operating System, Utility Programs, and File Management will be the most beneficial to my future career.
Understanding software and how it is applied will be a skill I’ll turn to daily.
Personally chapter 13, Behind the Scenes: How the Internet Works piqued my interest. I am on the internet every day and while I can operate it, I can explain exactly how it works. I do not have any specific questions on this topic yet but I am excited to learn more.
In IC3 Computing Fundamentals computer hardware, troubleshooting, and cloud concept are discussed. This section in particular is beneficial to me because I have been having computer problems. I recently ran out of memory storage and uploaded to the cloud, which I do not fully understand. Who else has access to my files? Will I be able to delete flies from the cloud of will it be there permanently?
