Background and Challenges
The aim of the project is to develop a modern information system that will help the multi cuisine restaurant in managing the services provided by the restaurant. The restaurant offers a great contemporary dining experience. The restaurant started facing problem in the weekends as it became difficult to handle so many customers together at a time. This led to delay in service provided by them, orders get misplaced and the customers had to wait for long time. This started affecting the business of the restaurant. As a result they wanted to implement strategies that will help in smooth running of the hotel (Bernstein & Sheen, 2016). To solve this problem, the management has planned to shift to a bigger location so that they can easily allocate huge number of people. Apart from these it becomes important to have a better information system that will provide a better management of the customer’s information. With the implementation of order management system the restaurant will be able to easily manage the orders and will be able to deliver within time.
Order management system is an electronic system that is developed with the aim to execute and deliver orders in an effective way. This will help the restaurant in tracking the orders and maintaining the securities. With the help of order management system one can track and can provide a better service (Jogaratnam, 2017). The capabilities of order management system includes easy returns, backorders, ship from store and drop ship and vendor managed inventory. This will help the organization to improve the service flawlessly. With the order management system the restaurant will be able to keep track which order is placed and accordingly will generate a bill. The information system developed will help in managing the dining. The plan also includes tablets displaying the menu of the restaurant with a table top. Once the customer selects the menu it directly gets directed to the waiters and the chief can start preparing the food. With the help of order management system the waiter and the manager will be able to schedule the orders and proceed accordingly (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). Moreover the customers can view the tablet for further details and for further changes in order. The order management system also includes a tab that will help the customer to reach to the manager directly in order of cancellation (Galliers & Leidner, 2014). The tablets provided to the customers will have a call waiter that will help the customer to find details about the order. The importance of implementing order management system is that it helps in saving the cost of managing information’s, helps in managing the orders properly, easy allocation and execution of the orders across the restaurant can be achieved, the full life cycle of the order can be tracked easily and can be reported.

This helps the manager to get details about the orders and allows them to check whether the orders are fulfilled and delivered properly or not. With the help of order management system the order accuracy will be improved and this will lead to cost reduction. Order management system will also help to provide real times support and update on the current order and on all inventory status. This will help the manager to stay updated with each event (Laudon & Laudon, 2015). As a result customer service will get improved and will attract more customer. Every customer needs a system that will fulfil their needs within less time. The resources required to develop a better information system that will help in improving the services provided to the customers includes organizing tablets and including proper system within the tablet. Managing the organizations order and developing risk analysis that will help to provide better mitigation strategies. Includes proper call customer service that will help the customer gain better facility. With the implementation of customer service the management will be able to improve their services (Oh, 2017). With a centralized order management system the restaurant will be able to easily manage the resources and services provided towards the customer.
The stakeholder associated with the implementation of order management system includes system owners, system users, internal system users, external system users, system builders, system designers and system analyst. These stakeholders are important to determine the internal factors and external factors. Each stakeholder plays a major role in achieving the target. The order management system is an information system that ensures proper delivery of food to proper person.

Impact |
The function of risk management is to identify the risks associated with the information system and mitigate this risks as much as possible. Mitigation is needed for smooth working of every organization (Saad Andaleeb & Conway, 2016). Similarly the identified risks associated with the implementation of new information system are needed to be mitigated in order to have a flexible system that will provide better service to the customers.
