Project Goal
The AG is a fishing company that has a role to ensure that the fishing done is , is orderly and there are no chance of overfishing in the fishing area. However the following are some objectives that are met by the fishing Network in AG cooperative which includes:
- To increment the yield of the fishermen who are members of the company and ensure that their customers are supplied with fish as fast as possible at accost which is quite reasonable.
- Reduction of overfishing by ensuring that fishermen are able to locate the best type of fish that is best suited to be consumed and hence minimize level of overfishing.
- To ensure that fish are being supplied to the customers directly from the fishermen without any one at the middle of transaction.
- To enable customers to place orders through the AG application or by use of phone and order get processed immediately by the software meant for proprietary.
- To enable the fishermen to get the amount of fish required by the customers using an AG application and get each quantity of fish and its respective category ,this will enable fishermen to catch as many fish as possible to reach the target.
- To enable the fishermen to post some views and conduct discussion over the internet through a forum that is online.
- To ensure that there is an integration of banking society that is online by nature which link main banks to the fishermen who are member of AG Cooperative.
- Offering of training to new fishermen on fishing methods that are to be used.
The AG network is a project which has a good connection to the fishermen, customers and the company where the fishermen are able to carry out fishing process using the modern technology where they check on the most appropriate way of doing fishing process using the mobile application and then carry out fishing to meet the customers demand, however the customers uses the mobile application to place order to the company of then type and quantity of fish they required to fish.
The company network will also enable the integration of the banking services to the network where the customers will be able to receive various services from those banks.
The network will also enable the fishermen to discuss or post in an online forum to ensure they are able to get the customers views accordingly.
The network will also have the training centre for new fishermen where there will be video viewing facilities to ensure that the students can see the video demonstrating various types of fishing methods and types of fish.
To ensure that all these services are implemented the network will have the following infrastructure facilities:
- Ten centres of distribution in the coast with three vehicles in every centre.
- Proprietary AG applications software that is used by the fish to place orders.
- Distributions Vehicles which are automated by being connected with on-board computers which enable them to connect to the AG offices and to the customers using mobile devices.
- AG fisheries training centre network which will have videos show facilities to demonstrate how to do fishing and the various techniques used during fishing process.
- Business Goals and Constraints.
There are various business goals for this project that are going to be implemented and they will be as follows:

- The logical network diagrams including addressing and naming.
- The explanation and justification of your logical design.
The above logical design is the network diagram where there are various components of the network where there is AG office and training centre and the coast of state branches and the distribution vehicles (Satalkar,2015).
There are two routers, where the routers are set to link the office and the distribution centers where the AG office has a computer and a server for record storage however the there is a training centre which is linked to the office through a router, there is a phone in the centre which is used for booking or placing of orders by various customers through calling where it is received by the records secretary in the AG centre (Behrouz,2015).
The coast of state branches and distribution centers is the other branch of the network where the computers are linked to the vehicles through wireless connection hover each branch has a phone where the fishermen can call to check on order or else they can login online to retrieve order records through the AG phone application.
- The list of routing and switching protocols, and security mechanisms.
There are the various routing protocols involved in the AG company network where there are the Ethernet interfaces, and serial interface together with the ip addresses.

- The explanation and justification for the selection of the devices and applications required.
The network required the above devices for the purpose of the network connection the two routers will be used to connect the office and the branches; however the switches were used in order to ensure that the computers in the distribution centers are linked together (Hashemi, 2016).
The server was set to ensure that the records are well stored and can be easily retrieved and the computers were selected for the purpose of the AG office and the various distribution centers where they are fitted in the distribution vehicles. However there is the Home-VoIP-PT phone where they are set to be in the network this is to facilitate communication between the customers and AG office and the customers and the AG office.
- A test plan that can be used to test the new network.
In order to test the workability of the entire network we can be able to conduct the ping of the devices this is to ensure that the devices can communicate effectively. Below is the test plan.
- Detailed test script for the test plan.
- The AG is configured using the routers where ,they are set up to make a network protocols however the security is fixed through the use of the firewall and this prevents the network from penetration by the malicious attackers.
- However the entire network is linked to as server this is to ensure that the entire network data is stored in the network which includes the customers data and the fishermen details.
- The AG has various distribution centres, training centres and state coast centres departments and the banking centres as well. For all these branches there are respective allocated IP addresses.
- The AG has the storage this is located in the head office this is to ensure that the data is not accessed by unauthorised users but only the authorised users only like the doctors.
- The network has the fitted the communication devices which include the connected telephones to ensure that the customers can be able to communication.
- The server is done configuration, where all the IP addresses, however the configuration is used to control the access of the server data.
- The AG offices is linked to the coast of the state coast branches through the routers ,this is where there are some software and some hardware this will be enabling the communication between the head offices ,fishermen and the customers as well.
- The branches in the state coast are linked with a switch ,however all these state coast branches are then connected to the router ,however this enable the network designer to set up a security measures accordingly.
- There is a server that is connected to the AG office this is then linked to the other branches through configuration of the server and routers ,however the entire data is stored in the server this is to allow customers requests be stored in one central location where the fishermen do search the requests from the customers.
- The AG network is set to counter any malicious attackers who ,this is achieved by setting up of the firewalls in the network system.
- The network has mobile phone connected and they helps in sending for some orders by the relevant customers ,through making of calls or even use of the mobile applications which can send fish request to the head office.
- The AG network has a training centre where the new trainees are instructed on how to do fishing ,this is through setting up a training centre that is fitted with computers to be used to video show.
- The AG network also had provided facilities for fishermen to transact in their respective banks.
The IP address in this case are used for the access of the network facilities ,where each network computer is given a unique address ,where there are static addresses for the computer network devices ,however to ensure that the network is secure the network is secured and there will be no intrusion in the system.
The below are the IP addresses for the respective branches:
Fishermen branches : 20.20.20.0/27 addresses ranges between 10 to 30.
Bank for fishermen: 20.20.20.0/27 addresses ranges between 10 to 30.
Training centre: 10.10.10.0/27 addresses ranges between 10 to 30
Headquarter in Darwin: 204.15.5.96/27 host address ranges from 97 to 126

Distribution centre 10: 20.20.20.33- 20.20.20.34.
- The user, business and security requirements of the organisation in relation to network design.
The designed network has various requirements for its implementation which are classified as user, business and the security requirements.
User requirements.
The following are some of the user requirements:
- User should be able to place order for the fish.
- The fishermen will be able to check the order placed and supply the demand through the phone application.
- The user students should be able to study various types of fishing techniques.
- The customers should be able to access the banking services.
- The company should be able to distribute the fish to the respective customers.
Business requirements.
The following are few of the business requirements:
- The customers will be able to receive the fish on time and at a cheap price .
- The company will be able to eliminate act of overfishing.
- The company will be able to deliver the fish within shortest time possible.

- Analysis of the user, business and security requirements.
The network above is the network designed to ensure all requirements are met they are met by setting up the facilities which includes the on-board computers fixed in the vehicles, fixing of telephone in the office to enable the customers to call and place orders, also the training centre is also equipped with a computer to carry out training, there is also online forum facility that is placed this is to ensure the fishermen are able to communicate through the forum (Alex,2016).
- Comparing and contrasting the possible alternative logical and physical network designs.
There are various logical and physical designs where they all determine the addressing of the network where there could be different type of addresses including the serial interface address, Ethernet interface address and the gateway address.
The physical addresses will however indicate different components are different number of components to be used in the network implementation.
In comparison to the alternative logical address the following table is indicating it clearly.
- Current logical router configuration

(John ,2014).
- Designing network using the top-down network design methodology.
- Create the final documentation of the designed network.
- Justification of unit to satisfaction of network requirements.
The network design has satisfied the requirements in that the customers will be able to order fish through the application of AG cooperative or through the call, the fishermen will be able to check orders and supply accordingly, the fishermen will also be able to check the placed orders using the AG application and respond by fishing the variety and quantity required (Iqbal,2013).
- One thing I liked most in this unit.
This unit is one of the interesting and it involves a lot of deep details of networking and its configuration, it has equipped me with the appropriate network skills.
- One suggestion to improve the unit.
The unit of study is well presented most of the concepts are clear and I can be able to handle the networking tasks effectively the suggestion for this is to create more time for the unit and more practical.
