The following assignment is about the new trends in the global business environment. The global business is no more the kind of business that used to exist in the earlier times. Many things have changed and many new things have come into existence. Many factors have been inserted into the considerations of the global business territory. The 21st Century business organizations have adopted different changes in this century that have helped the organizations to grow in a positive way. Such factors have worked as the catalysts. The workspace changes that are taking place in this century are very much logical and they cater to the welfare of the employees as well. Different multinational organizations are going for glory and they are ready to go to any extent to achieve their goals. In order to do so, some of the factors are very much important in this context. One of them is the successful leadership in the organizations. An organization can never progress in the right direction if it is not well-governed and the leaders do not co-operate with the employees, fix new strategies so that the organization can flourish by beating their rival organizations. Apart from leadership, many other aspects regarding the change in the global workspace changes also have to be discussed in this assignment. Many things like hot-desking, co-working, working from home and their implementations all will be discussed during the discussion of the topic.
In this part a brief literature review has to be provided by discussing in short the different aspects of the workplace changes in the 21st century. The various workplace changes that are taking place are very important in the context of future organizations. The role of the leaders in the business organizations is important in shaping up the new workplace changes. A leader has the role to influence the members of the organizations and improve their behaviors in several ways so that they can be on the same page to work for the organization in a positive mindset (Tannenbaum, Weschler and Massarik 2013). The leader has to set a clear objective for the organization to achieve and they have to find the ways in which the organization can achieve those objectives. So, a positive level of communication and co-operation is very much essential between them. The leaders have to guide their subordinate employees towards success when the time for executing the plans comes (Tannenbaum, Weschler and Massarik 2013).

It is very important to note that the leaders of the organization are the people who are the representatives of the organizations. They have focused on the importance of open space using in the workspaces that will boost the performance of the employees and that will reflect on the productivity of the organization as well. Face to face interactions between the employees have more influence on the communication than previous methods. The aspects of productivity and innovation can be put in two places in regard to space management of the organizations. The recent product launches have a good impact on the workspace of the organizations. The introduction of digital communication with physical space in the offices can be a productive tool to get innovation and productivity. The article also highlights upon the future office style and how it will look like, the new structures in the office buildings and all. He has to play the role of a co-coordinator by putting the efforts of the employees together and produce a joint outcome that would help to achieve the organizational goals (Wijaya and Akbar 2013). Some other important major traits that are involved in the new trends in the global business environment are the factors like hot-desking, workspace arrangements, corridor meetings standing up, the importance of teamwork within an organization, importance of taking right decisions all the time by implanting the decision making biases and many others (Gallie et al. 2012). There is no way that the role of the leaders can be overlooked in determining the success of the modern day organizations of the 21st century. In the next part of the discussion, some key factors of the successful leadership have to be discussed. The radical workplace changes have worked wonders in case of business strategies and gaining improved results in the modern world. The various means of workplace changes like co-working and hot-desking has really been made famous by the companies because the positive effects of these things have been seen here. The companies have experimented a lot and thought many times about making these changes. The big famous companies like Facebook, Samsung, Telenor have thought that if the workers of the organizations can work together in a same lobby, it would be very effective for them to exchange their views and ideas. The motivation that works behind applying these methods is innovation and productivity. Every company targets those two things and the prime factors for their organizational success are productivity and innovation.
The Role of Hot-Desking, Co-Working, and Working from Home in Boosting Productivity
The idea of unassigned seating has been implemented in many organizations so that the open-plan office can come into existence. The group efficiency among the employees would be increased and this would cater for the improvement of the organization. The factors of working from home is increasing because it would save time of coming and going to office daily and this would help to work more on daily basis. The cost for office buildings as well as the rent will also be saved in this context. These things would change the business context in the coming years.
In the modern era, the aspect of changes in the business organizations is very crucial because the way these things are shaping up, these will take the organizations to a new level altogether. The new aspects will be discussed in the following segement:-
Time management is a vital aspect that the leaders have to manage within an organization (Dodge 2015). Hot-desking has become one of the main aspects of this scenario (Cole, Bild and Oliver, 2012). The more people have to work together and they have to share the things like seats, coffee machines so that there could be more communication between employees of the other departments. According to the article, the companies have intended to install fewer companies in the organizations so that there could be more people using one coffee machine and they could interact with one another that could lead to a more innovative productivity for the organization as their ideas could be merged for a new and improved idea (Cole, Bild and Oliver, 2012). The managers or the leaders must understand what the issues within the company exist and what their actual goals are. This redesigning of hot-desking and unassigned seating has yielded great results for the organizations and making almost 60% of the workforce work together has been a tremendous success for the organizations. The results of implementing these tools have been different for different organizations. The interactions between the employees had increased to a certain level but the energy level of the employees had dropped also. The result was the reshuffling of the stationary workers instead of creating a movement. As a result of the unassigned seating, the team communication had dropped in the marketing sector because none of the employees would like to leave the workstation as they had no permanent seats (Cole, Bild and Oliver, 2012). The expense of the company on the desks had been reduced but the total productivity of the company and their revenue suffered a loss. It is inevitable that time will pass by and it is in vain to stop the flow of time. It is the duty of the managers to complete their works within the given time. The leaders or the managers of the organization should know about how the works could be done in a limited time. They can employ various themes like the energy management and activity management (Weske 2012). They should take up a few employees to complete one work and assign them some deadline to complete that.
Effective Communication between Hierarchy and Employees: Importance and Strategies
It is an absolute fact that effective communication between the employees and the hierarchy is very important for the growth of the organization (Weng and McElroy 2012). There should always be smooth communicative efforts between the two sides. The smooth and effective communication system between the two parties relies a lot on 80% listening and 20% talking. This 80/20 rule is very important in case of the communication between the leaders and their subordinates (Goetsch and Davis 2014). There should be a good relationship between the two because in hard times, the best efforts of the managers and the directors would not help the matter in any case. The help of the lower level employees has to be sought because the works are generally done by them. The goals of the organizations have to be evaluated in order to make the changes for an effective communication. There are some times when need for exploration, engaging the employees, circulation and an increase in the numbers of people’s collisions is turns out to be more important than individual productivity and creativity. It is more important to target group productivity and success of the organizations than the betterment of the employees as a source of creativity. When any strategic decision is taken by the hierarchy, it should be conveyed to the employees in no time and all the employees should be made aware of their roles (Phillips 2012).
Motivation is one of the most important features that one leader or manager can do to their employees (Boswell, Colvin and Darnold 2012). An organization is an institution that is run by the relentless diligence of its employees. If the employees are not satisfied, they will not feel motivated. It is the job of the leaders to deliver the most needed thing of motivation to their employees. The employees have to feel one with the organization so that they can connect their personal objectives of their lives with the objectives of the organization (Wijaya and Akbar 2013). A motivated employee will always find meaning in his personal life as well as in his work. One important aspect in employee motivation is the lobbies at offices. It is more important to focus on digital work in the offices because in the modern days, office buildings are designed in such ways that employees are no longer required to work inside office premises. The most important thing is to handle the digital work through different devices and it can be controlled from anywhere with the support of the internet. Knowledge work is vital for the offices but that can be done from outside the office as well. The leaders or the managers can take steps according to what is needed to improve the situation. The employees can mix up together and solve their problems regarding work outside the office as well. The employees can be motivated by their colleagues when they are sharing the files between them and communicate through e-mail, chat and archiving. The leaders or the managers should never impose their decisions on their subordinates but should discuss the matters with them, inspire and motivate them to complete the work together and at the end, walk off with flying colors (Daley 2012).

Some other factors that work behind successful leadership skills are setting the aims before their employees and reviewing their performances from time to time (Bernardin and Wiatrowski 2013). The basic success of the company comes with the fact when the employees understand what they are doing to earn money and why they are doing so. When, they find the relevance in their works, their intentions are motivated and they tend to give their best efforts in achieving what they are told to. Successful employees will be feeling proud to have contributed in the profits of the organization (Dobre 2013).
Another important perspective to the successful leadership skills to design co-working between the employees is the performance reviews of the employees or in short, appraisals (Bernardin and Wiatrowski 2013). When an employee has been continuously performing well, he has to be rewarded. This time the rewards will not be with money only, his or her designations will be upgraded. It has been notified that within five years from now, more than a million people will be using 12000 co-working spaces across the globe. This practice will also increase their income as well. They would be getting new knowledge from different sources when they will be using digital support system. This is why they will look to operate in these circumstances as this will be the stepping stone to their success. They will gather more information about their work by consulting with different department. For an instance, when an IT employee shares files and communicates with someone from the marketing department, his knowledge will automatically grow and they can expertise on their topics. New innovative ideas should always be welcome by the managers or the leaders of the organizations. New ideas help to think about a problem in new ways. As the co-working is getting successful and popular, the need for office buildings is not much of importance anymore. The aspect from home is growing to save more time and space in the organizations. Though some organizations and their CEO and managers are focusing on redesigning their offices, some are keen on saving of time and do the works from home easily and in a faster communication. The digital systems have helped in the changing of the scenario. The new innovation of technologies and use of Wi-Fi has become so common in the houses that more people are opting for doing the works sitting at home. This will help to do more works at a shorter time and they can income more money from these works. The innovation processes will not be hindered and they can deploy more creativity because it will save more time and energy. The managers should always encourage the employees who come up with new ideas. Innovative ideas and approaches open new horizons to see a known thing in different ways. The leaders should have a good understanding about what the current practices deal about and what they preach. They should make campaigns in offices with the employees to turn up with better methods to deal with the problems. When new innovative ideas are supplied by the employees, the managers or the leaders should look to improvise it or implement it in the correct working areas (Pedersen and Johansen 2012).
After a thorough discussion on the importance of leadership and the factors that encourage successful leadership, in this part the topic of discussion is to examine the way this trend may be heading in the future (Nixon, Harrington and Parker 2012). The organizational behavior and the organizational culture have a deep impact on the responsibilities of the leaders of the organization as well (Hogan and Coote 2014). Employees will free to work in the organizations with the guidance and assistance of the managers or the leaders. Thus, successful leadership will impact in positive in the organizations and increase their productivity in turn. The importance of these radical workspace changes has become so much relevant because the digital support system has been incurred into the panorama of world business environment. Keeping innovation and productivity in focus, the firms are trying to implement these changes in their organizations so that they can be more creative and their production could be maximized to gain the competitive advantage.
