Background
I have prepared this research program on the topic “Opportunities and Problems of Social Electronic Commerce in restaurants of Australia”. I have discussed the developments which are taking place in the field of electronic commerce. Discussed has been made about the use of social networking platforms by the restaurant industry of Australia for enhancing the performance of the business by making the customers aware and communicating with the customers in a better manner (Savrul, et. al., 2014). In this research program, I have discussed the objectives on which the execution process of the research is dependent. Objectives which I have formulated for this research are developing an understanding of the social E-commerce from E-commerce, identification of the opportunities which have gained by the Restaurant industry in Australia due to the emergence of social E-commerce and to identify the problems faced by restaurant industry due to use of social E-commerce (Turban, et. al., 2017).
The Internet is a two-way approach which is used for communicating with the customers. Social networking platforms have affected the lives of people at large. I have developed knowledge of the impact of social networking platforms in enhancing the performance of the business and interacting with the customers of the business. E-commerce has increased the transparency between the business and customers of the business (Ferreira, et. al., 2017). Different forms of social commerce are being used with a motive to enhance the performance. I have understood that social commerce is those platforms which permit people for collaborating with each other on the online platforms for the purpose of exchanging information, making purchases and services required. I have understood that these platforms have reduced the efforts involved in shopping by the customers. That for the effective utilization of the resources available with the restaurant, there is a need to use social media tools for the promotion of the restaurant (Turban, et. al., 2016).
Business can easily target the audience or market with the help of social networking platforms. During the initiation of the data collection process, I have analyzed that customers are free to present their views regarding the business and share the experience for providing feedbacks to the business. Another aspect which acted as an opportunity for the restaurant industry in Australia is delivery. People can order the food and it will be delivered within the mentioned time. There is a rise in the number of users of these social networking platforms due to increase in the work pressure (Savrul, et. al., 2014). Different opportunities from the use of electronic commerce which I have identified include the growth of the market segments, develops a competitive advantage for the business, enhancing the chances of growth and success along with the expansion of the area of operation, access to the global market at a minimal cost and less time. I have discussed problems with the use of electronic commerce in business. These problems which have been covered in this research include issues related to data security, increase in the level of competitions and involvement of high cost (Nanehkaran, 2013).
Impact of Social Networking Platforms on Businesses
This learning process has helped me and prepared me for dealing with the future aspects of the changing business environment. I have focused on developing this research in an effective manner by collecting quality data and applying effective approaches or strategies. I personally believe that learning process is an essential part of the life of an individual. Learning process enhances the knowledge as well as helped me in performing the role assigned to me in a better manner. Learning process has contributed to my experience and will help me in performing the future research activities in a better manner. This learning process has developed my knowledge regarding the current aspect of the IT industry which is being used by the businesses for communicating with the customers (O’Gara, 2014). I will use this knowledge gained while conducting the research for the attainment of the future goals.
Research programs are important as these help in generating knowledge of the manner in which a research program is initiated for the attainment of the objectives or goal set. I have initiated this research program for attaining the objectives of the course and meeting the requirements of the course. As a professional, I will face different situations where I will use the knowledge of gained during the execution process of this. As a professional, I need to apply the theoretical knowledge I have gained for dealing with the practical aspects of the professional life. The research topic is a common aspect and developing regarding the knowledge of the topic will help in coping with general life aspects or situations (Chen, et. al., 2013). Restaurant industry of Australia is growing and aspects of the industry are changing. This research has made me aware of the growing industry and changing aspects which I have to analyze for identifying the impact of these aspects on the business as a professional.
I have prepared with a research program with applying my knowledge and conducting research for accumulating data. Data has been accumulated for the different aspects of the research as well as for the manner in which a research is to be conducted. For success in completing this research program, an action plan has been formulated on the basis of which all the activities of the research are carried out (Barney & Mackinlay, 2010). I have accumulated data related to different methods of data collection and selected a suitable method for collecting data. I have assembled data related to the research program for developing the research program as per the research questions and objectives set. I have applied qualitative research method with a motive to analyze and examine the effects of the use of e-commerce in the restaurant industry which cannot be calculated or measured.
Social Commerce
This research program has played a vital role as I have initiated this research program and a base has been developed for future programs. I will be able to perform or to conduct the future programs with the better knowledge and in a better manner. This business research has motivated me to perform the future projects in a better manner by applying the knowledge which I have gained during the execution process of this research. For gathering data, I have used interviews, questionnaires, and observations. These sources of data collection have provided high-quality primary data (Chang & Lin, 2014).
In the assignment one, I have presented the data collected related to the research program. This is done with a motive to develop knowledge of the topic selected for conducting research. I have done this for ensuring that reliable and authentic data is presented in the research. I have applied numerous methods for ensuring collection of quality, authentic and reliable data. In the assignment two, I have covered different methods used for collecting data presented in the assignment one. These methods have been analyzed properly for choosing most suitable and appropriate method for the research (Coleman & Willis, 2015).
This learning which I have gained from the completion of this research will be used in the future for performing the research projects assigned to me in a better manner. This learning process has developed my research skills which will be used for conducting research activities for the analysis of the market, industry and other aspects of the business environment (O’Gara, 2014).
Thus, it can be summarised from the above discussion that learning is an integral part of the experience as learning contributes to enhancement in the experience gained by an individual. I have gained knowledge regarding different aspects of a research which I will use for future programs, for professional life, and for general life.
