Organizational theories study the organization for analysing the organizational structure and patterns. These theories help the organization in solving the problems, meeting the expectations of stakeholders and enhance the productivity and efficiency of organization (Aguilera et al, 2007).
Many organizational theories has been introduced to help the organization in meet the needs of stakeholders and enhance its operations. Some of the organizational theories and their impact over the Gen Fast is as follows:
Every organization is based upon a management or organizational structure which depict about the roles and responsibilities of every employee and manager of company. It explains the functions, positions, delegated roles, responsibilities and authority which is carried out to define the task and objective (Schoorman, Mayer & Davis, 2007). The organizational structure of the company describe about the power, communication structure and ways which could occur the conflict in the organization.
Power is quite difficult to explain. It is a capability of one person to compel other persons to do something either willingly or unwillingly. Power could be divided into 5 groups: Legitimate power, Rewards power, coercive power, expert power and referent power.
Legitimate power is a form where power is generated through the designation and it is accepted by all employees of organization. Judiciary is the best example of legitimate power. In Gen Fast, legitimate power is held by the CEO of the company. All the employees of the company are required to follow his order. This helps the organization to work together to accomplish the goal and help the organization to be more efficient.
Rewards power is a capability or kind of reward which is used to fulfil some one’s interest. Such as manager of an organization has power to reward employees in the form of promotions, salary, pay, bonus, time off etc. In Gen Fast, reward power is held by the both manager and employees of the company. Manager of Gen Fast rewards employees in the form of promotions, salary, pay, bonus, time off, shares, bonds etc. and employees have power of appraising in 360 appraisal and producing desired production (Bakker, & Schaufeli, 2008). This helps the organization to work together to accomplish the goal and help the organization to be more efficient as everybody accomplish their duty perfectly.
Coercive power is an ability to punish a person. For it, a proper paper work is required. Discipline also plays an important role in this. Such as strike is an example of coercive power of employees and fine, over time and demotion is an example of coercive power of managers. In Gen Fast delivery, the coercive power is rarely used by the manager and employees as it impacts negatively over the organization and human power of organization.
Power
Expert power is an ability to influence a person on the basis of interpersonal skills such as thoughts, expertise, knowledge etc. This is helpful in building up a real image of a person in front of others. In Gen Fast, this power is held by the CEO and other managers of the company (Luthans & Youssef, 2007). All the employees of the company are required to follow his order. This helps the organization to work together to accomplish the goal and help the organization to be more efficient.
Referent power is an interpersonal relationship of an individual among the other individuals. This could be derived in the form of love, respect and affection. It develops slowly and helpful in portraying a good image in front of others. In Gen Fast, this power is held by the every person of the company (McShane & Von Glinow, 2011). This helps the organization to work together to accomplish the goal and help the organization to be more efficient.
Thus it could be said that all the forms of power is used in Gen Fast delivery and the usage of every power group is quite great in Gen Fast. It has been found that the company is doing great. This helps the organization to work together to accomplish the goal and help the organization to be more efficient (Greenberg & Baron, 2008). This organizational theory of power helps the company to be more competitive in the market and it enacts the value of organization in the market.
