 Public private partnerships have become a very popular form of financing public project. Discuss in detail at least one risk/weakness/issue associated with such financing options .

The relationships between private enterprise and governmental entities has dominated in todays current climate. This relationship is one where both parties are actively seeking to benefit, both economically and politically. With it comes to government and business, it is a “you scratch my back, Ill scratch your back.” Situation. Although these relationships have been proven fruitful in many situations, this relationship is not without its pitfalls. One of the negative stains on the relationship of government and business is the action of lobbying. “Lobbying is one of the most direct, fundamental, and salient means by which interest groups pursue their political agendas.” This is without a controversial topic that effects all aspect of our current political climate. The practice of lobbying is where you hear the talk of our politicians being bought and paid for and do not have the public’s interest at heart, but rather serve the corporate donors who backed their campaign. While that may not be entirely true it is without a doubt that lobbyists don’t have an influence on our election’s cycles. The amount of money it takes to run a campaign in today is astronomical. In the last election cycle, Trump and Hillary raised a collective 2.4 billion dollars, with over half of each candidate funding coming from different interest groups. This is just one example. Almost every single candidate from a state district representative, to a U.S. senator is potential to be lobbied. Although legal, it makes you wonder where politicians’ values truly lie.
