I would like to add some points as to what Mark should have done if Jack was not able to resolve the problem. Firstly, Mark could declare an open challenge for all the employees in the company and give a big reward whoever can come up with the solution. He could arrange a competition where teams can work together in finding a solution for the issue. Of course Mark should heavily reward the winner whoever can come up with the best solution if any. Rewards such as monetary and also promotion can really motivate the employees to work their best and also help Mark and the company to find a solution to the issue. Secondly, Mark could also open crowd-sourcing platform to get the best design for the issue. Any team or individual who can solve the issue can be hired for the company or get heavy monetary benefits. Finally one of the other options that Mark could use is to take help from freelance designers. Mark could select some freelance designers and then bring them together in the company along with his internal team including Jack to work together to come up with a solution. It will make use of Mark’s internal employees as well as Jack’s leadership and skills and everybody would be happy. Jack also would not have been hurt since he will also work with the freelance designers. Mark would also pay heavily to the freelance designers so they also should not have any problem working collectively.
