Learning Outcome 1
Project is something which is temporary in nature, which is generally defined from the beginning to the end of time and besides this there also exists a well defined scope and resources as well. Each project is unique in nature and there is no such routine operations. But despite of this there exists a specific set of operations which are generally designed in order to accomplish a particular goal. In a project team there exists a group of people who don’t usually work together or might be belonging to some other organization or might be present in different geographical locations. It is necessary to manage a project expertly so as to deliver the desired outcome in time, within the budget and a good outcome. Project management is the process associated with managing the projects which includes the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques so as to conduct the project activities in order to meet the requirements.
Each project generally consists of 5 phases. Firstly comes the initiation of the project which is followed by the planning phase of the project. Once the planning phase is completed comes the execution phase where all the plans are executed. Once executed in the monitoring and controlling phase all the activities of the project are monitored and controlled lastly comes the closing phase where the project comes to an end and the final outcome is delivered. In this consolidated portfolio a discussion has been conducted regarding the learning and the knowledge that has been gained from the course conducted in last few weeks.
Summary
There exists no standard relationship between the system engineering and project management. This is mainly due to the reason that there exists a great deal of overlap. This two discipline might be disjoint or partially intersecting or might be seen to be a subset of one another and this is entirely dependent upon the environment of the project and the organization which is conducting the project. Despite of having no standard relationship the project managers and the system engineers are associated with the encompassing of the technical as well as the managerial leaderships existing in a project between them. This in turn requires the enterprise of each project manager and the system engineers to work on particular details for their own context. Besides it is also essential for any kind of project to have an effective communication between the project manager and the system engineer. This efficient communication is needed so as to accomplish the mission in an easy way. Communication of this type generally needs to be established in the early stage of the project and should occur at frequent intervals.

Summary
Project managers are associated with playing a vital role in the delivering of the projects. The project manager is the individual who is associated with leading and managing the entire team associated with the project. Besides this the Project manager is having the authority and responsibility of running the entire project on a day-to-day basis. Besides this it is generally seen that the usage of the application systems by the project has turned out to be a revolutionary addition in the field of project management. This addition has made it very convenient fro the project managers to handle the project in an efficient way. Selection of the proper application system for a particular project is very important as this heps in the determination of the success of fact if the project would become successful or unsuccessful. In case if the application is not chosen properly then it might lead to wastage of time as well as resources by trying to handle the application system. So it is essential to understand the project first in order to choose the system application. Project managers are capable of controlling the project by selection of proper application control. Besides this there exists several tools in a particular application system which helps in reporting of the capabilities of he project manager so as turn the data fed to the system into meaningful information. Turning of the data into a meaningful information wold be assisting the project managers in taking the right decisions. Besides this selection of proper application system would also help in managing the complexities that exists in a particular project along with tracking each and every stage of project life cycle. But the real game player is the internet connectivity of the application system which is associated with providing real time reporting along with the updating of the data.

Application systems have been associated with helping in understanding the project management in a better way. Besides this the application systems are generally used in managing the projects as this makes the managing of the projects very easy along with depicting the various kind of benefits that the project managers would be getting due to the usage of the application systems. A very vital role is played is the played by the application system in any kind of project because of the handling capabilities that they are having for addressing the various kind of aspects included in a project. Application system can be complicated as well as simple so it is essential for the project managers to choose the appropriate application system. Failure might occur in a project if a complicated application system is chosen for a simple project as this might lead to higher rate of complications. There exists various kind of tools in an application system. Besides this it is seen that the application systems are also complex like the complexness of the project. This complexity can be eliminated if the scope and the complexity of the project is understood and the application system is chosen depending upon the input.
Conclusion
The course conducted in the last few weeks helped in understanding the various aspects of project management. One of the important aspect of project management is the usage of the application systems. Besides this it also helped in understanding the fact the the project application systems is one of the great way which is used by eth project managers for the purpose of managing the project and also keeping the project within control. The major reason for this is because of the fact that the project managers are capable of monitoring, tracking, executing, managing the risks and many more. Besides this the usage of the application system helps in the communication between various stakeholders along with the setting of the budget for the project. Due to all this reason the application system is generally considered to be a boon for any of the project managers as this helps in elimination or controlling of the various kind of complexities. The course also helped in learning the fact that a application system can be complex as well as simple.
