Key Factors for Project Management Success
In my point of view, success is reflected as achieving of project goals and objectives and meets with the project time completion date. We have to set off the project goals properly based on project desires. Project success is measured before as well as throughout the completion of project. Achievement of the project objectives into the schedule as well as budget, are required to satisfy the stakeholders along with learn from the project experiences.
- b) How did your project perform in relation to Cost, Time, Scope and Quality?
Cost, time, scope and quality are considered as three constraints into a project work. I completed the project work on time with estimated budget. I maintained the project scope to achieve of goals to meet with client’s requirements. Quality is required to maintain so that a proper an achievable project document is received by the client. Cost is financial constraints which is also known as the project budget, scope is where there is required of tasks for fulfilling of project goals and time where the schedule is required for project completion. Those constraints are stated as success of project is being impacted the budget, deadlines as well as system features. The constraints are important part of the successful part of project work. The constraints are provided of framework which everyone should agree with the project.
- c) What can you learn from failures and can they ever be a positive thing?
From failure, I learned that failure helps to gain more knowledge and skills into the project. Failure is an opportunity to revaluate the work with better means of reasoning. There is lack of control over the project documents. The failure is being controllable when the project manager concerned related to the project challenges.
- d) How successful was your project in terms of how you define success for you?
The project will get successful as I delivered the entire project on time and maintain and focus on project schedule to complete as per estimated time.
- a) What did you hope to achieve (skills/knowledge/personal insights/ contacts etc.) during your time in this unit?
As I have lack of project management skills, therefore I achieved of more skills into this field so that I can able to schedule the time and allocate of team members into the project work. I created of skills matrix for the project success. I required taking of personal responsibility to review as well as update of skills as well as throughout the project lifecycle. Knowledge sharing is critical component towards the knowledge management.
- b) What did you achieveby participating in this unit?
I managed to build of team and motivate them to work more. I achieved of project management skills. I increased awareness about the project management events like conferences in addition to technical meetings. There is promotion of project management knowledge. I achieved of project management objectives and exceeded of project expectations. I faced of difficulties as well as obstacles which are the way at end of the project. The project management knowledge areas are scope management, risk management, integration, human resource, and stakeholder, time and budget management. Those are considered as PMBOK areas.

b)Apply for certification I have completed my bachelors in Civil Engineering and at present pursuing masters in project management. There is project management education which includes of 35 hours of formal education. I have a PMP certification, eligible for PMP and not yet eligible for CAPM. Project management professional is likely to achieve in the next 12 months. To achieve the certification I need to complete my masters in project management and also achieve three years of experience with a unique non-overlapping Professional project management experience and also need to spend at least 4,500 hours of work in directing the project. |
I advised the students to get PMP knowledge before going for the exam; it helps to get good marks. |
