Summary of the project
Choose an environmental issue that is of particular interest to you; write a research proposal seeking funding to research the problem/issue.
The primary aim of this research is to outline and analyze the environmental issues. There are ample of environmental issues that could affect the environment and economy of the country. One of the significant environment issues is global warming that may influence the animals, human and plants in many ways. The scientific consensus is that global warming is real and has already begun; additionally it is the result of the greenhouse gas emissions. Here is the discussion about the global warming and further it also discusses whether how it affects the economy and environment of the various countries. The research analyzes and explains the effects of the global warming. Along with this, it depicts that how climate change or global warming could have direct impact on the habits and behavior of the people. It has been analyzes that global warming creates various issues in the environment. Global warming is very serious and critical serious issue facing by the people in the world in the 21st century (Paterson, 2013). Due to global warming many changes are occurred in the earth and environment. It also explains and analyzes the proposed solutions to handle and reduce the global warming issue. Global warming may cause mass flooding in the near future if no steps are taken to reduce and handle the greenhouse gases. The research paper helps the researchers to understand the greenhouse impacts and helped the researchers learn more on the future effects.
From the past few years, Australia witnessed all types of extreme climate changes such as heat waves, droughts, and flooding rains, and because of this it can be said that Australia is a land of extreme changes. This section discusses the global warming background in context of Australia because currently this issue is the biggest environmental issue which attracts number of debates. Global warming is defined as an increase in the earth’s atmospheric and oceanic temperatures and this mainly occur because of the increase in the green-house effect resulting from the pollution (The conversation, 2017).
Australia stands on the position of the world’s highest per capita emissions rates of the global warming, and also the large number of coal reserves stands this country on the position of the world’s largest coal exporters. Global warming impacts already impose number of effects on the Australia such as water stress, shrinking glaciers, increasing sea level, disturbances in patterns of the rainfall, and increased consistency and intensity of the fires and heat waves. It must be noted that, effects of the global warming number of hazardous take place and cause severe damages to the natural resources of the world. The biggest reason the global warming is the green-house gas pollution and it cause immediate and direct effect on the planet and result in number of changes. Some of these effects of global warming are stated below (DEE, n.d.):
- Temperature of the earth is already warmed by 1°C in comparison of the pre-industrial levels. Rise in the earth’s temperature may appear small, but it is necessary to understand that little rise in the temperature results in the big changes in the climate across the globe. Because of this cost in context of extra energy is required for the purpose of increasing the temperature of the world. The concept of the extra energy can be considered as the force feeding to the climate system of the globe (Crutzen et al, 2016).
- In Australia, 2015 is considered as hottest year and the previous record of heat was broken down in 2014. On the basis of the past few records, it can be said that there are longest heatwaves and purple and magenta is added by the Bureau of Meteorology to the forecast map for temperatures up to 54°C (WWF, 2016).
- Increase in sea levels is another big issue which is resulted because of the global warming, and in context of this increase in the temperature of the oceans result in melting of the glaciers and ice caps across the globe. More heat also leads to the expansion of the water mass which ultimately results in the rise of sea levels and threats to the low-lying islands and coastal cities.
- Other extreme events related to the weather are also there such as bushfires, cyclones, droughts and floods, as frequency of these events increased because of the global warming.
- Generally, extra heat and carbon dioxide is absorbed by the oceans, and absorption of these components more than the oxygen leads the ocean both warmer and acidic. Warming waters of the ocean bleach the coral reefs and also leads to stronger storms, and more acidic water of the oceans causes threat to the shellfish, and it also threatens the tiny crustaceans and in case crustaceans disappear than it would lead the collapse of the food chains of the marine.
Background
Australia took number of measures for the purpose of reducing the effects of the global warming and for restricting that action which cause global warming. The most important step taken by the Australia in context of reducing the global warming emissions is the implementation of the national Renewable Electricity Standard (RES). The compulsory renewable energy target is set by the government of Australia and this target includes 9500 gigawatt hours by 2010 and it also states the commitment to ensure 20% of the national electricity supply from renewable sources by 2020. Australia also ensures demonstration projects in context of the carbon capture and storage from coal burning power plants. It must be noted, it is very difficult to determine the role played by the carbon capture and storage technology in restricting the global warming emissions from coal in the demonstration projects of these types (Climate hot map, n.d.).
The research paper is based on the quantitative research method, tools and techniques in which various strategies and approaches are focusing by getting consideration of the quantitative study. This study will indicate the effective and unique results of the topic with the help of various surveys assessment in which 100 investigators would be participated to make the study more unique and effective (Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault, 2015). The explanation of all the researchers would be discussed by using the unique methods and techniques of sampling which would be helpful to analyze and measure the concepts of the study in an effective and systematic manner. The main motive of this research is to outline and elaborate the global warming issues in the environment. It explains how to reduce these issues and challenges to protect the lives of the people. The paper creates awareness among the people regarding the global warming and the research paper explains that how global warming puts ample of impact on the life of the people. The global warming has been known to cause a series of unnatural and undesirable changes in the environment. The further aim of this research is to work for the protecting and promoting the healthy natural environment through various action programmes and environment awareness creation among and education of the people. Moreover, the purpose of this task is to work for healthy, clean and neat cities and urban environments and to work for the environment health and safety of the employees. By using this research paper, the researchers want to prevent and reduce excessive exploitation of natural and energy resources as well. It has been analyzed that global warming is a big concern for the researchers because it may influence the economies of scale. It is one of the significant and serious issues that is listed as a priority issues by the government of almost all the nations (Flick, 2015). The study analyzes that approx 90% of the human activity may influence the temperature and life of people. It has been analyzed that global warming causes water shortages in areas where the water is already short. It also affects the animals and humans that causes ample of disease. The research paper analyses that how global warming leads to increase and enhance deaths from heat waves. It also leads to the loss of plants and animal habitats. Air population has increased due to global warming. The paper explains that how global warming could affect the glaciers and ice sheet that are significant for the ecosystem. The research paper outlines that how global warming puts significant and costly impact on communities, climate and health. Unless people take immediate steps to reduce and eliminate the global warming emissions, these impacts are damaging the environment adversely. Global warming caused by greenhouse gas pollution as it also affects the plants. It is analyzed that effects of global warming vary from country to country. The people needs to focus on the global warming issues to make a favorable environment.
Aims of the research
It has been analyzed that research methodology is an effective and unique part of the research that helps to understand and evaluate ample of methods, techniques, tools, and strategies to make the research in an effective and unique way. There are two types of the techniques and for initiating this research proposal, quantitative research technique has been chosen in the task. It will help to outline and analyze the significance and objective of the global warming in the task. Some of the research techniques have been detailed below (Santamouris, 2014).
Research strategy
A research strategy is a step by step plan of action that provides direction to the people thoughts, ideas and efforts, enabling them to conduct research systematically and on schedule to produce quality outcomes and detailed reporting (Mackey and Gass, 2015). The research strategy plays a significant role to collect the data and information about the global warming. It is one of the vital and foremost factors of the research that helps the researchers to analyze and evaluate the research issue in a hassle free manner. It has been analyzed that survey research strategy would be initiated by the examiner to collect information and facts about the environmental issue such as global warming. Survey research is an effective and unique tool because it enables the investigator to get information and facts about the global warming in less cost and time that enhance the accuracy of the research among the people in the global market (Benton and Newell, 2014).
Data collection
One of the significant strategies that can be used is data collection. The unique strategy of the gathering data in terms of the research topic develops and improves the knowledge and experience about the research issue. There are two types data collection methods such as primary and secondary used to collect the data and information about the global warming. For this research, primary data collection method is used by the researchers to gather information and facts (Alfieri et al, 2015). Primary data is collected by the researchers at the first time. It is original data that has been collected particularly for the purpose in the mind. It means primary data is collected by the investigators from the original sources. To collect primary data, survey, questionnaire and action research methods are used by the researchers. In the terms of data gathering plans, there are two equipments would be used to gather data and information in a systematic manner in which the simple equipment sheet would be prepared by the researchers. This sheet will entails gender, age and other factors of the population so that marketing research can be done effectively and efficiently.
Research methodology
After gathering the information and facts regarding the research topic, it is unique and significant for the research to build and improve the reliable and accurate outcomes in terms of the research concerns. There are ample of the research analysis may be used for this research. The research analysis techniques include thematic analysis, statistic analysis, content analysis, conversational analysis and disclosure analysis (Guber, 2013). For this research paper, the first will give the entire explanation of the task from which the information and data is collected, graphic information on gender and age and apart from this, the detailed information regarding the global warming would be explained in the research. For measuring the data and information, statistical data analysis would be used. By using this tool, researcher would be able to show the graphic statistics of the data in which regress, cross tabulation, correlation and other factors involved. The main aim of this study is to analyze and outline the global warming issues. Data analysis helps the researchers to know and analyze the causes of the global warming (Cook et al, 2013).
Climate change is significant since it helps in determining and analyzing the future climate expectations and requirements. The research paper is significant to analyze and elucidate the advantages and disadvantages of the global warming. The study is analyzes that global warming stresses ecosystems through water shortages, temperature rises, intense and high storm damage, salt invasion and drought (Santamouris et al, 2015). Some of the Australia’s high natural icons such as the Great Barrier Reef are significant and effective threatened for the people. The purpose of this research is to fully understand and analyze this watershed behavior in term of climate changes, hydrology and forestry. It has been analyzed that global warming is the scientific and systematic study of the climates which is explained as the mean weather situations over a period of time (Bolaji and Huan, 2013). During this study, facts, information and data would be gathered that will permit the prediction of the effect of global warming on water quality, inshore fisheries, coastal aquaculture development and pollution. This result helps in the expansion and development of adaptation strategies and policies to climate change the country. The present is significant to outline the pros and cons of the climate change or global warming. By analyzing this research, the researchers hope to describe the environmental issue such as global warming and its impact on the sustainability and life of the people. From the above mentioned analysis, the researchers provides ample of information and facts about the significance and impacts of the global warming. It has been analyzed that energy efficiency is the lowest cost way to eliminate the emissions. Saving water reduces and prevents the carbon pollution too. The researcher is stated that people need to use fuel efficient vehicle to save fuel and money (Trenberth and Fasullo, 2013).
The research paper is significant to explain the adverse impact of the climate change so that effective measures can be taken by the people in order to reduce the global warming. Without conducting the research, people would not be able to know and understand the significance of the global warming. Therefore, this research will help the people to generate awareness among the people about the global warming (Dunlap and Jacques, 2013). Optimum utilization of resources can be done by analyzing this research paper. The present research is also so important because it helps outline the ample of remedies to avert the adverse impact of the climate change or global warming. This analysis sheds light on whether how the global warming can influence the environment of the country (Martens, 2013). Some effective measures such as change lightbulbs, use air conditioning, drive less, use less hot water, and keep an eye on the local beach help the people to overcome on the global warming. The research helps in encouraging others to conserve the energy and resources. The research will help in sharing about energy consumption and recycling with friends, coworkers, and neighbors and take ample of opportunities to promote public officials to establish policies and programs that are good and effective for the environment (Elsasser and Dunlap, 2013).
Conclusion
The above mentioned analysis shows that how global warming can influence the sustainability and environment of the country. The impacts and disadvantages of the global warming have been explained in the task.
