Importance of Effective Communication in Enhancing Employee Motivation
In the current business scenario, communication between the internal stakeholders helps in gaining workplace motivation for the employees. This is due to the reason that effective communication process helps the employees to share their challenges and issues and convey them to upper level management and vice versa. However, this should also be noted that in order to have effective process of communication in the workplace, it is important to have innovative communication tools. These tools will have different set of utilities and can help in enhancing the workplace motivation.
In this essay, 10 articles will be selected, which will discuss about the role of the innovative communication tool in enhancing the workplace motivation. These 10 articles will be chosen based on which the further research will be done in the following assignments.
According to Fatimah et al., (2015), communication process and motivation of the employees is interrelated due to the reason that the more effective will be the process of communication, the more will be the provision for them to engage with other stakeholders. This will ensure that employee issues will be mitigated. This article is selected due to the reason that before analyzing about the role of the communication tool in boosting the workplace motivation, it is important to have the understanding about the relationship between the communication process and employee motivation. This article analyzed about this variable and will be useful in further discussing about the relationship between the communication and employee motivation. In addition, this article also discussed about how the effective process of communication will help in engaging the employees in their workplace.
On the other hand, it is stated by Korzynski (2013) that effective communication not only enhance the level of motivation of the employees by means of sharing their views and feedbacks but also, it helps in reducing the distance between the upper level and lower level stakeholders. This is due to the reason that effective communication process will also enable the upper level managers in sharing and conveying their vision to the employees. This article is useful for further research due to the reason that there are number of instances being identified where upper level managers are facing the difficulties in conveying their vision and approach to the employees and thus cannot be able to engage them in their workplace. Therefore, with the help of this article, different approaches of communication process in motivating the employees can be critically analyzed. This information will also be beneficial in gaining the knowledge required in analyzing the role of communication tools in motivating the employees.
Chairprasurt and Esichaikul (2013) stated that one of the major and innovative communication tools in the recent time is the mobile technologies. This is due to the reason that mobile technologies with the help of wireless and internet technologies are overcoming the barriers in extensive and vast communication process. The authors have also stated that mobile technologies are helping the employees in having the access to the organizational resources including the upper level management at any point of time. In addition, this article also discussed about the degree to which the mobile technologies are mitigating the need for physical interaction between the stakeholders and can get connected at any point of time. This article will be used for further research due to the reason that it will help in analyzing the role of mobile technologies as one of the major innovative communication tools in enhancing the workplace motivation.
Role of Mobile Technologies in Enhancing Workplace Motivation
Giesbers et al., (2013) stated that web and video conferencing is another major innovative communication tool in enhancing the workplace motivation. This is due to the reason that with the help of video conferencing, internal stakeholders can meet each other in real time without having the requirement to be present in physical at a particular place. With the help of the video conferencing, the employees can have the access to the upper level management and they can convey their issues from different places at any point of time. Thus, according to the authors, video conferencing will help the upper level managers to monitor the performance of the employees and change their approaches accordingly. This will ensure that employee issues will be resolved in its primary stage. This article will be used in order to discuss about the role of video conferencing as an innovative communication tool in boosting the workplace motivation.
Communication technology can be termed as effective only when it helps in involving all the internal stakeholders in the communication process. According to Yuan et al., (2013), technologies such as online portal for the employee communication will help in involving the maximum stakeholders in a single platform. This will also help the stakeholders in extensive communication in the workplace and can convey their message to all the stakeholders across the hierarchy level. As per Cardon and Marshall (2015), social media should also be considered as one of the most innovative communication tools for the organizational stakeholders. This is due to the reason that social media can help the employees in getting connected with other stakeholders including both internal and external. In addition, the authors have also stated that social media will also help the upper level managers to determine the approach of the employees by their social media usage patterns. The human resource strategy can be designed accordingly and issues of the employees will get resolved. This article will be used for further research, which will help to determine the role of the social media as communication tool in boosting the workplace motivation.
Sisko Maarit Lipiainen, Ensio Karjaluoto and Nevalainen (2014) focused on analyzing the importance of digital communication mainly in the multinational organizations. According to the authors, in the case of the multinational organizations, diverse workforce is being maintained with having employees from different social and cultural background. Thus the probability of emergence of issues between the employees from different social backgrounds is more. As per the authors, digital communication helps the managers to have the round the clock connection with the employees. Thus, emerging issues will be noticed by the managers in the initial stage and can be effectively mitigated. In this case, the employees will get motivated when their issues will be resolved effectively and will not be discriminated. This article will be used for further research of role of digital and innovative communication tools in the diverse workforce and how to motivate them.
Role of Web and Video Conferencing in Enhancing Workplace Motivation
Darijani, Soltani and Pourroostaei (2014) stated that job satisfaction of the employees is one of key determining factors in enhancing their motivation. This is due to the reason that the more will be the level of satisfaction of the employees, the more will be their motivation towards their job role. In this case, it is stated by the authors that innovative communication tools will be beneficial in enhancing the satisfaction level of the employees by means of resolving their issues and meeting their requirement. This is due to the reason that effective process of communication will help managers to determine the employee requirement and enhance their satisfaction level. This article will be used to analyze the relationship between the satisfaction level of the employees and the innovative communication tools.
Men (2014) stated that innovative communication tools increase the options of more communication channels for the internal stakeholders. This is due to the reason that conventional communication tools are having limited approach compared to the new age tools. On the other hand the authors have also stated that innovative communication tools are helping the managers to come up with more online based communication channels in connecting with the employees. This article will be beneficial in determining the impact of having more communication channels in the motivation level of the employees.
As per Mishra, Boynton and Mishra (2014), internal communication process is having the expanded role of maintaining the employee relationship. This is due to the reason that relationship with the employees also determines their level of motivation in the workplace. Thus, according to the authors, innovative communication tools helps in enhancing the approach of employee relationship and workplace motivation. This article will be used for further research in order to have the understanding about relationship between the innovative communication tools, employee relationship and workplace motivation.

This essay concludes that different authors have given different opinions regarding the effectiveness of innovative communication tools in enhancing the workplace motivation. In this essay, 10 articles from noted journals are being chosen for further research and each of these articles are having different perspective of discussion. This will enable the future research papers in having diverse information regarding the role of innovative communication tools in boosting the workplace motivation.
