Objective and selected tools
The aim of this paper is to assess my own abilities and skills with the help of three self-assessment tools, which will further help me understand potential threats or opportunities for me in the long run. For this paper, I have undertaken 16 personalities test and Gallup Test or CiftonStrenghts and Myers-Briggs Test, which are considered to be highly effective for any self-assessment activities. The selected organization for this report is A.L. Cladding, which was selected in the previous assignment.
The objective of this paper is to discuss evaluation of the test results gained from self-assessment, which is further followed by SWOT analysis. Under SWOT analysis, we will discuss my strength, weakness and opportunity or threats. This is followed by gaining feedback from others (peers), which will help to understand different opportunities or threats that I might face in both short term as well as in the long term. In addition to that, this analysis will be evaluated for self-development as well as continuous improvement. Integration of concepts will assist in assessing the value, ethics, communication, experience to manage diversity, experience with networking or working collaboratively, ability to accept feedback from peers along with the capacity to retain in the chosen organization in future.
The three self-assessment tests selected for this paper are Gallup Test, Myers-Briggs and 16 personalities test.
The Gallup Test shows that every individual is uniquely powerful. The test shows my strengths and weaknesses, which will help to identify strategies as to how can I improve my development. Some of the strengths identified in this test are significant because I aim to create a hug impact. This is because, I am independent and often prioritize object on the basis of its influence towards society or organization. Another strength identified from this test is futuristic, which means I am highly inspired by my long-term goals due to which I energize others with my visions. Individualization, Focus and Maximiser are some other strengths identified from The Gallup Test. This is because, I tend to figure out individuals and their productivity, whereas I also emphasize on taking direction and making necessary actions to remain “on track”. However, I ran low on relationship building and influencing others.
Myers-Briggs Personality test shows that generally there are 16 different types of personality association with an individual (Ontoum & Chan, 2022). Personality of an individual is determined with the help of scales provided in this test, which is Extraversion (E) to Introversion (I), Sensing (S) to Intuition (N), Thinking (T) to Feeling (F) and Judging (J) to Perceiving (P) (Choong & Varathan, 2021). Researchers found that this test is accurate as it shows different traits of human, which increases the accuracy of its prediction. From the Myers-Briggs test, I have realised that my type is ENTJ, which shows 6% extraversion, 12% intuitive, 19% thinking and 1% judging.
From the 16 personalities test, I have realised that my code is ESTP-T, which is a characterized as Turbulent Entrepreneur. Additionally, I have a role of explorer with strategy characterized as “social engagement”. Under this approach, the mind is 53% extraverted and 69% observant (energy). Nature shows 54% thinking, 51% prospecting and 61% turbulent.
Evaluation of test results and SWOT analysis
From data collected from peers, it is observed that I am a quick learner and I have good management skills, which will further help me in various research projects and task in an organization. However, I should focus on improving my analytical skills, as it is essential for my personal and professional growth.
Strength · Achiever as I am highly focussed on my goals and develop effective strategies to achieve those. · Focus shows that I prioritize every action based on its influence in the organization. · Extraverted depicts I have the ability to approach a greater number of employees. |
Weakness · Relationship building is poor as I fail to influence others. · Maximiser shows that I observe or study individuals to bring out the excellence. However, this is a time-consuming process and it is very tedious. · Thinking ability is high, which is 54 percent as showed by 16 personalities test. However, low on feeling shows lower emotional intelligence, which can create an impact on the workplace behaviour. |
Opportunity · I am a highly responsible person as showed in The Gallup test, which means I am reliable and take responsibility for any psychological actions or beliefs. · Belief shows that I have certain core values, which will help me in achieving my goals. Furthermore, I motivate people to achieve theirs as well. |
Threat · Learner yet I fail analytical skills as highlighted by my peers. This can lead to long term challenges. · The test shows that I am a strategic thinker however, I fail to meet commitments sometime. This, in turn might create a potential challenge in the future. · Turbulent leader due to less assertiveness in my personality. This might lead to workplace tension and even employee turnover. |

Assessment of my communication
From the above discussion, it is observed that I am highly goal-oriented and a strategic thinker. Hence, in A.L. Cladding, I will focus on improving my communication skills as it might not be effective because I fail to influence others. However, as I am extraverted, hence it will help me to approach other employees or peers. With the help of improved communication skills, I will be able to encourage them in achieving their goals.
Value and ethics
As discussed in the previous assignment, it is difficult to avoid conflicts. Therefore, it is essential for an individual to emphasize on different workplace ethics and diverse policies. Implementation of core ethical values might help an individual to maximise employee productivity and reduce the risk of negative workplace behaviour. Some of the core values that I aim to implement as a manager are integrity, fairness, accountability, teamwork as well as honesty. With the help of this approach, I will be able to reduce any risk of unethical practice in the workplace.
Experience with managing diversity
A.L Cladding work with two cultures, which is comprised of Western Europe and South America. Thus, as a manager it is essential to implement employee diversity, which will further help with generation of innovative ideas (Ma, Guo & Fang, 2021). As a goal-oriented individual, I will emphasize on implementing international diversity management.
Experience with networking and working collaboratively
From the self-assessment tools, I have analysed that I am a quick learner due to which, I will be able to understand different cultures in a business (or A.L. Cladding). Collaborative working in a diverse workplace is necessary, which might help in improving the relationships between employees (Ma, Guo & Fang, 2021). As I am self-assessed to be responsible, hence, I will be able to improve my abilities in the concerned firm or A.L. Cladding.
Ability to provide and receive feedback
As a manager, it is required to provide or accept and receive feedback (de Araujo et al., 2021). Hence, I am extraverted, which might be a benefit to understand the feedbacks from stakeholders. From the feedback provided by my peers, I reflect communicative in terms of receiving and evaluating their reviews. In the long term, this approach will help me in identifying my threats or strengths and weakness, thereby influencing effective measures to overcome those challenges.
Ability to influence others
In this respect, I showed lowered relationship building, which might be a significant challenge as a manager of any firm. In addition to that, this approach will also reduce overall employee effectiveness as the workers might not be able to communicate properly with each other (Mamman, 2022). In the long run, this can also lead to workplace challenges.
Feedback from peers and evaluation for self-development and continuous improvement
Capacity to become a leader now and in the nearby future
At present, I lack some serious management skills or abilities such as relationship building and emotional intelligence, which can reduce workplace effectiveness. In addition to that, overworking capacity might not be helpful for the brand (Ma, Guo & Fang, 2021). Overall, I think gaining training about managerial skills might be helpful for me as that will assist me in achieving corporate objective within a short period of time.
A.L Cladding emphasizes on mixing with two cultures, due to which they have brought positive as well as negative actions within the organization. Hence, considering my abilities, I will be able to improve business operations with the help of effective managerial skills. On the other hand, I lack in-depth analytical skills, which might be challenging as the manager. In addition to that, self-assessment also shows that I lack good emotional intelligence skills and relationship building, which might lead to serious workplace tensions.
With the help of extraverted and thinking skills as highlighted in 16 personalities test, I will be able to improve organizational performance as a manager of A.L. Cladding. In addition to that, high focus on long term and organizational goals, might help in achieving the goals or corporate objectives (Ma, Guo & Fang, 2021). Overall, it is assumed that I, as a manager will be able to deliver quality performance in A.L. Cladding with the help of training in emotional intelligence and analytical skills.

SO strategies · Achiever, which means working hard and possessing higher stamina. Furthermore, I take immense happiness in remaining busy & productive, which can be achieved by setting challenging goals. · I am highly focused towards my goals. As my energy is 69 percent observant, hence, I will be able to channel my focus on achieving these goals. · 16 personalities test showed that my mind is 53 percent extraverted, due to which I will focus on encouraging other individuals to become productive (individualization). |
WO strategies · As I rank low on relationship building, hence emphasizing on improving communication might help me to overcome this issue and become a great leader. · Maximiser or influencing ability is low. This can be overcome by focusing on strengths and working on self-development. · Myers-Briggs test shows that I have thinking ability of 19 percent under ENTJ. Therefore, I will focus on increasing influence on others to achieve personal and organizational goals. |

ST strategies · Responsibility shows that I take psychological ownership for my actions. Hence, checking my schedule before taking any additional task might help me to meet commitments without failure. · Belief shows that I hold certain moral values, which are unchanging. Hence, these keeping reminders of my personal aims will help me overcome any blind spots. |
WT strategies · As the 16 personalities test showed that I am a turbulent leader. Hence, I will focus on developing realistic goals and focus on improving emotional intelligence. · Learner ability shows that I hold a huge desire in learning new things for self-development. Hence, signing up for different courses will help me achieve my goals. · Even though I ranked high in strategic thinking, however, I tend to overwork. Hence, scheduling time every day for accomplishing goals and activities might help me to a great extent. |

Conclusion
Lastly, this report can be concluded by saying that self-assessment tools are one of the most important components used for self-development. For this assignment, three major tools are used, which includes 16 personalities test, Myers-Briggs and Gallup Test (CliftonStrengths), which helped me to identify my strengths and weaknesses. Analysing self-development tests and feedbacks from my peers, it is observed that I tend to emphasize on short term and long-term goals. This will further help me in improving my abilities and capacities to achieve the goals. With focus on relationship building through effective communication abilities, I will be able to improve my skills as a manager in A.L. Cladding. In addition to that, I will also emphasize on taking training on emotional intelligence as well as in-depth analytical skills. This in turn will help me in achieving my long-term goals. From self-development plan, I will be able to minimise the challenges and gain a competitive edge from the market.
