Reflective Analysis of the Weekly Blogs
Self-reflection is considered to be one of vital tools that are employed the students in the current competitive world (Antonacopoulou, 2017). This is due to the reason that self-analysis that facilitates in ensuring a detailed along with informative critical evaluation of strengths and weaknesses present within all the individuals. The objective of this self reflective report is to evaluate the blogs provided to me in the weekly lectures and analyzing the ways I which analyzing them has facilitated me in attaining suitable learning on the topics covered. I have also gathered the fact that through developing a self reflective report I will realize about my areas of strengths and improvement at the time of pursuing my course subject areas. In the current report, I will also focus on carrying out self-analysis test that can facilitate me in recognizing the areas in which I need to improve my ability.
From analyzing the blog described in my week 1 lecture I have attaining learning on carrying out a self-evaluation test in which I will recognize the areas where I need to improve my ability. In this week I have also taken several class activities that have facilitated me in enhancing knowledge on the course. It has been possible by means of the tests that I have learned regarding the aspects of my knowledge which needs improvement (Armstrong, 2018). I have attained learning on the fact that in case I wish to be a successful employee in future than I require developing several vital traits in me. One of the most vital techniques of self analysis I have come across in the week 1 lecture is self-analysis that has facilitated me in teaching other students regarding the process of design thinking. This has also facilitated me in developing the ability of thinking among other students. After attaining suitable learning on the blog explained in this week I feel thankful to my teachers for the fact that they have assigned us with distinct interesting learning activities (Bognar & Krumes, 2017). There are certain distinct activities that were to be addressed within the span of 8 weeks. This has proved to be helpful for me realizing my traits in a detailed, prominent and better manner. In the week 1, design thinking subject was introduced. I have also attained detailed understanding on the ways in which well interaction of all the students can be maintained. I have also attained a understanding on the on the ways in which lectures can make me more engaging and I have also attained in understanding on the fact that everyone has the ability to think differently through carrying out activities in small groups (Cullingford, 2017).
Week 1
From analyzing the instances identified in the blog of week 1, I have attained learning regarding the design thinking moodle. This week blog has been very helpful for me in attaining knowledge on divergent and convergent thinking. Through attaining such knowledge I will be able to use the divergent thinking style on the design thinking ability used by me in the career course (Delaney & Bates, 2015). The week 1 learning from analyzing the blog has also facilitated me in thinking all the likely conclusions or solutions on a specific matter along with selecting feasible solution for a specific issue related with design thinking process. This has further taught me in developing a clear vision off thinking regain all details of a design based problem in a detailed manner (Linehan, 2018).
The blog explained in the week 2 lecture explained the context of design mindset in the innovation process. From analyzing this blog I have attained a detailed learning on the fact that innovation within the design thinking takes place that finds a way to the market. From the instance of IDEO explained in the week facilitated in designing market organizations that will include several innovations along with chances of lots of failure (DeYoung, 2014). I also attained a detailed understanding regarding the fact that every member in the group makes equal attempts and hard work has indicated a particular percentage along with rate of success. Moreover, all the team members are observed attain equal opportunities along with final prototyping was the result of voting among the members. From analyzing the learning I the week 2 blog I have also attained learning on the fact that the poster I assumed to determine the design building (Frich et al., 2015).
From the knowledge attained through the week 2 lecture, I have gathered that every lecture facilitated me in recognizing the thoughts and now design thinking gets me to develop the thinking process. The blog reviewed for the weak has increased my understanding on developing a clear vision of thinking all the matters in an explained manner (Kassean et al., 2015). I have also gathered the fact that all the techniques spiral learning along with method of employing triple loops, which can be used by me in its suitable implementation within organizations. I have also attained learning regarding the ways I can develop an open mind and gather several viewpoints regarding attaining a suitable conclusion (Madore, Jing & Schacter, 2016). I have also attained learning through analyzing the instances presented in the blog that I require to be free from my comfort zone along with attaining quality of being versatile for positioning myself as a successful manager and leader in the upcoming years (Körkkö, Kyrö-Ämmälä & Turunen, 2016). I have also attained a detailed understanding on the fact that I require to keep myself updated along with that I require to deal with my introvert and closed nature.
Week 2
The learning that I gathered from the blog explained in week 3 facilitated me in realizing individual posters. I have also realized from this paper that the major focus in the design thinking process regarding changing the perception of thinking. Certain instances have also been provided in the blog explained in week 3 that increased my learning on human and their respective behavior in creating a new and suitable design thinking that further facilitate in expressing the process of innovation in several manner (Medea et al., 2018). I have also attained an increased learning on the fact that design learning can serve as a thinking process by self along with others in order to attain an exceptional solution by me in my career path.
The major motive of this learning week was to develop the ability of innovativeness and thinking power among us. However, during the course of learning I have gathered that I the beginning I found it quite difficult in attaining fresh ideas on the process of design thinking. In this week the blog analysis developed a learning in me regarding evaluation of going deeper layer of imagination because of which I require being highly innovative and dynamic (Patton, Parker & Tannehill, 2015). I have attained a detailed learning on the fact that I can develop fresh innovative ideas and transform the circles within certain figures that attained a meaning. For this reason, I have also attained detailed knowledge on the primary tools crucial in the current era is identified as design thinking. For ensuring success in professional career, it is necessary to sacrifice the comfort zone by exploring new and innovative ideas. Moreover, I have understood that prototype testing is another significant tool for arriving at the correct solution (Patton, Parker & Tannehill, 2015). However, before all the possible alternatives are applied, it is essential to obtain a thorough overview of the problems. After such identification, I need to adopt the divergent thinking method. This would assist me in finding solutions for any specific problem from a diversified group of thinking arena.
From the learning attained in the week 5, I have attained knowledge on different design thinking tools that includes journey mapping along with brainstorming. I have attained detailed learning on the fact that journey mapping ensures connection among the product and the consumers along with brand or service (Patton, Parker & Tannehill, 2015). I have also attained learning on attaining a detailed understanding on the issues regarding the ways in recognizing the demerit points that can facilitate me in offering best possible solutions in my design thinking process implementation in the organizations. I have also attained an increased knowledge regarding the ways in which brainstorming can support me in developing innovative ideas in design thinking process in my future career path. I have attained knowledge on developing intensive discussion among all the group members regarding suitable implementation of primary activities that includes research and development, marketing, production, consumer service and sales (Patton, Parker & Tannehill, 2015). The week 5 lecture also enhanced my knowledge regarding the fact that certain secondary activities can also add to the added procurement values. I have also attained detailed knowledge on the fact that where, when and which digital transformation tool can be employed by me in my future career in any organization.
Week 3
The blog reviewed in this week also elaborated to me that just hard work is not a single solution available for any problem in which I can apply 10 major design thinking tools in order to deal with the issue. The weekly blog developed my knowledge through explaining the last activity that is carried out within the class that turned out to be somewhat similar like my previous activities (Patton, Parker & Tannehill, 2015). My knowledge was enhanced in through this weekly blog by means of using the tool of mind mapping. The learning program also facilitated me in carrying out certain activities in which I have to select an organization along with implementing the approach of value chain for the chosen organization along with attaining detailed understanding on the cost structures related with my design thinking process within my future company. The second phase of my learning process enhanced by understanding on mind mapping and the advantages related with the same (Patton, Parker & Tannehill, 2015). A detailed knowledge has also been offered by the blog explained in week 5 as it increased my learning in suitable implementation of data analysis and different research approaches. In addition, the week also explained that an important design thinking tool explained during the week lecture facilitated me in developing certain goods in innovative manner and as the way consumer have demanded all its goods.
My significant strength is my ability to grasp things quickly. I always have the knack of exploring new and innovative techniques to evaluate and solve problems. Moreover, I combine with my team members easily by listening to their ideas very carefully. After gathering all ideas, I put forward my suggestions in front of them. This will assist me in participating in all design thinking workshops and therefore, I can gain knowledge about mind mapping, design thinking and brainstorming in all possible ways (Morris & Carpenter, 2016).
However, some of my key weaknesses include lack of skills in time management and innovativeness. Therefore, these areas need special attention for ensuring steady growth and progress in future. The reason is that I envision myself as a successful manager in the days to come for which I need to develop a positive attitude for dealing with any kind of issue (Patton, Parker & Tannehill, 2015).
