The network infrastructure of MyTelecom is evaluated for generating a clear picture of the organizational framework. The expansion and the up gradation that can be applied in the framework are identified for listing the network equipment and ensuring successful growth of the organization. There is need to identify the problem for removal of the bottleneck in the network and install the network devices according to the requirement of the organization. A simulation tool can be used for the analysis of the performance and QoS configuration and achievement of the desired performance from the network. It is important to create a network topology for the organization for connecting the different departments and different tools should be applied for optimization of the network and analyze the real time traffic for the evaluation of the network environment. The following steps are applied for the evaluation of the IT infrastructure:
- Removal of the duplicate entries from the backup environment – The existing backup environment must be evaluated and the duplicate entries must be removed for saving the storage cost and improve the efficiency of the recovery point.
- Fixing the network – The network device must be able to work efficiently under all types of workloads and the bandwidth must be maintained when data is synchronized between different location in the network.
- Optimization of the application and the servers – The installation location of the servers should be evaluated and the servers should be able to virtualize for reducing the cost of the network and distributing the loads in the network.
- Virtualization of the storage area network – A high performing and reliable network infrastructure should be created for the storage of the data in an efficient manner. The data should be able to move between the departments at real time and the distance between the sites should be measured for the application of an appropriate cabling plan.
- Business Continuity and disaster recovery plan –An optimized IT model should be selected for the preparation of the disaster recovery and the business continuity plan. The storage and the WAN cost can be reduced with the application of data reduplication, virtualization and replication for reducing the licensing cost for acquiring the data service.
The details of the transmission paths of the network should be included in the network and it refers to the creation of the cabling plan of the network. The cabling plan should be created depending upon the network device and the area of the network required to be covered for enabling communication between the nodes in the network. The medium used for the transmission of data is important for the success of the network and removal of the network interference. For interconnecting the devices coaxial, optical and twisted pair cable should be used. The backup should be stored in the cloud location and high speed link must be created for uploading the backup files to the cloud servers. The transmission path must be created based on the service allocated to each of the nodes connected in the network. The records of the transmission must be maintained for planning the allocations and updating the plans and the database for recording all the details of the network.
The hardware requirement necessary for the development of the network infrastructure are listed below:
- DSL or ISDN internet connection
- Monitor
- 4 GB RAM
- Quad core processor
- 4Gb or more RAM
- 500 Gb HDD
- Intel Xenon 2.93 Ghz dual core processor
- 4Gb or more RAM
- 500 Gb HDD
The software requirement required for the development of the network framework is listed below:
- Server operating system – Windows 2012 R2
- Database client software – Oracle enterprise edition 11g
- Client machine – Windows 10
Browsers – Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari
Other Software – Adobe Reader, Microsoft Office Suite
There are three office buildings of the company. There is a headquarter building for them organization and to other branches located at different locations. The headquarters would be having an additional safety plan with the safety aspects of the other branches being comparatively less. The network peripherals would also require comparatively a higher level of security. In addition to this, the workers and the employers of the company have be made accustomed to the security policies of the network in all the branches across all location. The workers implementing the network should be well accustomed with the security standards.
Project Manager
The OHS standards of face and eye protection have to be maintained by the company and the workers should be keeping the standards in mind during the construction of the network in the buildings. The network peripherals within the buildings should be sufficiently protected. It is to be made sure that the employees do not tamper with the network peripherals without prior information and without the need to do so. Additionally, there are head protection policies provided by the counsels of security. These policies have to be followed by company as to protect their employers and they also have to make sure that no major incidents should take place within the building premises.
The network plans that differences in the layout in between the main headquarters and the branch offices of the company have been maintained. The network layouts of the branch offices have been constructed with the routers and the switches used for spreading the network over a large area. In addition to this, for increasing the accessibility to the network wireless access systems have been installed in the system. However the access points of the wireless system have been well protected with passwords. Hence, only users who are allowed access to the system can get connected to the network. In addition to this, the headquarters have been connected with all the major servers and data stores. The servers are connected to the routers that help in spreading the network to the other branches of the company. The switches are connected to the network that would be providing access to a number of the systems within the network. The network would also be well protected with a firewall and the administrator would be provided with a certain level of access control so that, they can provide access only to the rightful users.
The set of broadband as well as VoIP service project contingency plan helps in establishing proper procedures for recovering security breach. The objectives that are mainly established for the project plan are as follows:
- Maximizing the effectiveness of various contingency operations through proper established plan
- Identification of various types of resources, critical activities as well as procedures that re required for operations
- Assigning responsibilities for designated personnel
The contingency plan helps in applying to various functions, operations as well as resources that are necessary in order to resume the normal operation of the project. The contingency plan applies to various persons who are mainly associated with the project.
The assumptions of the project are as follows:
- The project will be successfully completed within the budget of around $300,000.
- The project must be successfully executed within 37 days
- The project must be helpful in providing proper service of internet
The set up of Broadband and VoIP service is Melbourne helps in providing high-speed of internet access that is quite faster. Broadband generally include both high speed transmission technologies including digital subscriber, cable modem, fiber as well as broadband over power lines. It is identified that there are two offices and one headquarter of Mytelecom. The network layouts of the branch offices have been constructed with the routers and the switches used for connecting to the headquarter office that is further connected with all the major servers and data stores.
