Engineering requirement is said to be one of the effective methods which can be used to identify the needs and also to know the presence of a company that is supported by the customers, stakeholders, and the users. Some specifications and models, which can be used for bringing up the requirement of company into the strategic process of elicitations also are a part of it.
In the report, the elaboration will be in the context of ABC Pty Ltd. which is an Adelaide-based organization dealing in the IT sector. This company launches the apps and provides their services in the stakeholder’s engagement including planning, it also includes the list of the stakeholders for the company, accurate definition of the power of their stakeholders, and their grid interests have been stated. A part of the report also defines the methods which can be used with the help of Grid. It demonstrates the relation between the power and interest of the stakeholders. Plan of the stakeholder’s Elicitation has also been discussed with better understating of its four steps. Reasons and the methods which have been selected have also been explained with the help of the examples. In the end discussion about the activities of ABC Pty Ltd. & its stakeholders have been stated in the report.
ABC Pty Ltd is an organization that uses strategies in general form and also can prove some of the communication which is with the stakeholders of the company. This also can work as the provision for supporting the projects of ABC Pty Ltd. which are ongoing for the company. In this case, planning, media presence, events on particular locations, communications and also knowing individuals can benefit the company in numerous ways (Sanneman 2019). The presence of the project body also can benefit in managing the knowledge which can help in specifying the stakeholder’s creativity and their knowledge in particular areas of the business as their knowledge can provide effective working to the management (Sabariah et al, 2019).
The process which can be used by ABC Pty Ltd in identifying its stakeholders is ‘stakeholders management’. It can help in systematically identifying the analysis, implementation, and planning of the actions which are designed to influence the stakeholders (Sabariah et al, 2019). It also is an engagement strategy that helps in knowing the needs of the key groups and individuals, as the sponsor plays a vital role in ensuring that the needs of the business are fulfilled and met at the right time. The process of stakeholder identification includes documenting and identifying the stakeholder in the project, which also includes their interest, their impact, and potential influences both negative and positive on a project (Gobov & Huchenko 2021).
Overview of the Stakeholder Identification Process
ABC Pty Ltd. is majorly using the initial steps of the stakeholder’s engagement plan, some aspects need to be included in the same (Alserda et al, 2019). These aspects can help the company and its management in presenting the project to the stakeholders. As it will increase their presence in the projects of the company. The Stakeholder’s engagement plan is implemented when there is no engagement, to very less engagement of the stakeholder in the company and its decision (Sanneman 2019). Implementing these aspects can help the management of the company in the decision-making process for improved operations and effective production.
For the company ABC the stakeholders are –
- Website designer – Web designer can help in creating a website for ABC Pty Ltd. that will be appealing and attractive to the customers, this will be visible to the consumers as well. The website designer will be considered as the person behind the designing and creation of the website layout and its development (Ali et al, 2019).
- Customers – For ABC Pty Ltd. company, its customers are said to be the most important stakeholders, because with their help it can be determined that the strategies which have been implemented as the system which is being used by ABC Pty Ltd. can lead to their growth or not.
- Website developer – The website developer will be responsible for the backend work of the website and the application of the mobile ‘ ServicePlease’ system.
- Business analyst – The business analyst of the company will look mainly into the matters of the application ServicePlease and its system (Haag 2019).
- Investors – Investors put their money in the company for the application service system ‘ServicePlease’ with the motive of getting a financial return.
- Suppliers – Suppliers will help ABC Pty Ltd. in fulfilling the indirect needs of the company and will make sure that there is enough material presented in the company for keeping the operations smooth.
The power interest grid or power interest matrix grid is considered a simple tool that can help ABC Pty Ltd. in categorizing the stakeholders for particular projects. It also can help in increasing the power and interest of the project. This tool mainly helps in focusing on the shareholders so that the project of the company can be divided into various parts (Bano et al, 2019).

The elicitation plan which has been chosen for the case study includes interviews, analysis of the stakeholders, observation, and brainstorming (Bano et al, 2019). It has been selected, as it will effectively benefit the company ABC Pty Ltd. in meeting the requirements of the company and also in the collection of the data processor for the system, as these requirements have to be collected from many sources and stakeholders including, users, stakeholders and also by customers in the form of interviews, conduction of meetings, brainstorming sessions and also by various questionnaires (Lewellen 2020).
In the Activities, the engaged Stakeholders will be customers, employees, web designers, investors as they all have their roles and responsibilities which hold a high level of power & interest for the benefit of the company (Meske & Junglas 2021). These responsibilities include Effective financial return, development of the effective website, marketing, Better interface of the mobile application “ServicePlease, smooth functioning of mobile application, proper feedback from the customer as they can help in improving the structure and system on which the company is working, etc. (Lewellen 2020).
The plan includes four Elicitation methods which are –
- Interview – By conducting the interview ABC Pty Ltd. can collect the elicited data as interviews are the form of secondary research and involve asking questions that are open-ended and also which have been conserved by the respondents (Sanneman 2019).
- Brainstorming – This activity can help in identifying the issues which an organization is facing as this works mainly for technical and commercial issues. This technique is used in the groups and includes the applicants.
- Analysis of Stakeholders – The analysis can help in collecting and analyzing the qualitative information and also knowledge so that the interest can be determined of the stakeholders, who have been taken the role of execution and establishment of the website and mobile application
- Observation – The technique of observation is all about noticing the behavior for the ABC which can be scored. This involves numerous approaches like participant observation, archival, research, and also conduction of various case studies (Alserda et al, 2019).
Conclusion
In the report, it has been concluded that the company ABC Pty Ltd. is a start-up company which is Australian based. They want to develop an online delivery Statement which is named ‘ServicePlease’. The system will develop for providing a high level of facilitation to the consumer, service providers, and also of the supermarkets for the delivery of various products and services including groceries to their residents. For this scenario, the engagement plan in the report has been explained which also includes the roles, responsibilities, interests, and power of the stakeholders. A part of the report also discusses the Elicitation activity plans with the reasons for choosing the particular plan for the company. The role of each stakeholder in the activity has also been concluded in the report.
