Managing the U.S. Supply Chain
The prime determination of this report is to focus on the management of the supply chain. The issues and challenges associated with ILS are described in this report in a formal way. The reason behind the failure of the implementation of SAP are also mentioned in this paper along with the impact of mobile technology in banking. The difference between the privacy policy of Amazon and HSBC are also discussed in this paper. The different applications of Twitter and Instagram are also stated in this paper.
The Joint Munitions Command or the JMC is defined as the latest major subordinate command of the army of the United States of America. The prime objective of JMC is to produce and store the ammunition of the US army. The supply chain of this defence organisation involves 20 military units, more than 5800 civilians all over the world, 8300 personalised contractors. The main head quarter of this organisation is in Rock Island. The annual budget of this organisation is about 1.2 billion dollars (Mu & Gao, 2017). The activity of this organisation is to bombs and bullets to the US army which is located all over the world. More than 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition are provided to the US army by this military organisation. This organisation is also responsible for the storage of the missiles worth $39B USD.
Optimization of the existing resources, improvement of the life cycle cost, functional support is done with the help of the iterative and integrated process which is known as the integrated logistics strategy. The ILS or the integrated logistics strategy is developed with the help of the Joint Munitions Command. The integrated logistics strategy considers the supply chain, cross level retail, assets of the oconus, the prepositioned assets and the ARFORGEN. These are all required for the support to the operational ammunition requirements (García, Meana-Llorián & Lovelle, 2017). The improvement of the logistics and the munition productions are the other objectives of ILS. The important objective of this organisation is automating the entire process securely, maintaining the readiness and providing support to the US troops.
The different drivers of improvement of this strategy are as followings:
- SAAS-MOD: The Standard Army Ammunition System-Modernization is used by the Joint Munitions Command for the Army Sustainment Command (Coenen, Van der Heijden & van Riel, 2018).The authorization of the weapons and the other type of ammunition are done with the help of the SAAS-MOD.
- Organic Industrial Base: The critical capabilities of the US troops are enhanced with the help of the network of organic installation base, the requirement of the current missions is also managed with the help of these industrial bases.
- LCRRPR and CAAA: The low cost reduced range practice rocket and Crane Army Ammunition activity are the different types of testing tools used by this organisation.
- Ordinance Training: MOST or the mobilized ordnance specific training improves the readiness of the ammunition units which is one of the most important driver of this organisation along with the Munitions Individual Sustainment Training (MIST). What were the benefits of the change and what issues doing they encounter in implementing the ILS.
There are different types of issues and challenges associated with the implementation of the integrated logistics strategy such as the cost of transportation, management of the essential commodities of the supply chain, accurate strategic planning, management of the customer orders, logistic managements involving the stakeholders and the constraints of the enterprises, unable to adapt to changes is the other type of issues related with ILS, Uneven partner benefit and the change in expectation are the other type of challenges associated with the implementation of the ILS.
Description of supply chain for the JMC
The advanced training modules are the other most important specification of JMS which includes the BOLC which is the Basic Officer Leader Course, AROTC which is the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps, OCS which is the officer candidate school, WOBC is the Warrant Officer Basic Course, WOCS is the other unique course offered in the supply chain of the JMS which goes for Warrant Officer Candidate School (Alzaman, Zhang & Diabat, 2018). These advanced training are very much considered as the unique feature of JMC supply chain and are not found in the other munition commands around the world.
The quality of service, short delivery frames and enhanced performance rate can be successfully achieved with the help of the implementation of SAP. The controlling of the errors both inside and outside the working environment is also done with the help of SAP. The effective implementation of SAP helps in better planning and co-ordination between the different types of business resources (Danda, 2015). Profit accountability is the other most significant reason behind the implementation of SAP. SAP also has a major role to play in the sales and marketing departments of the business enterprises.
The order management system used by Avon was rolled back after a failed deployment in Canada. It was pilot who was responsible for the entire act. This failure of SAP implementation leads to the loss of reputation for this organization. Their estimated value kept on decreasing for many months. The operations capabilities of this organisations were badly impacted due to this issue. The users of the products and services of this organization also decreased considerable due to their diminishing market reputation (Wilke et al., 2016). The IT infrastructure of this organisation was under hammer due to the failed implementation of the SAP. The order management process of this business organisation revolved around a specific information system such as the Service Model Transformation. The financial performance of this organisation got seriously impact after the failed SAP implementation. The rival organisations were taking the benefits of the failed implementation of SAP. The decision making process of the stakeholders of this organisation was also impacted by the after this event.
The implementation of the ERP system and the complicated module of the working principals are one of the main reason behind the failure of the SAP implementation. The business model of this organisation has very less flexibility among all the living and non-living assets of this organisation which is the other reasons behind the failure of the implementation of the SAP. The software used in this organisation is not very user friendly in nature which is the other reason behind this failure (Zhang & Petri, 2015). Over reliability and over dependency on the automated systems are the other reasons behind the failure of the SAP on their working environment. There are too many exceptions associated with the information systems which are implemented in this business organisation which can be other reasons behind the failure.
Integrated Logistics Strategy (ILS) developed by the JMC
According to me, there are lots of issues and challenges related to legacy systems installed with the advanced information systems of this organisation, and there are plenty of compatibility issues between the advanced systems and the legacy systems. I also believe that the difference between the EPM systems and the ERP systems are the other type issues which caused this major failure. The SAP which was proposed to the management team of this organisation was not actually delivered so there is a huge gap between the proposed and the actual implementation of the SAP modules (Zhang et al., 2015). The SAP was not implemented in every level of the organisation which is the other prime reason behind this major failure. According to me the external stakeholders of this business organisation such as the vendors were the other source of concern for the implementation of SAP as they were not included in the implementation of the SAP.
Mobile technology plays a huge role in the banking industry as the banking organization can reach for more clients with the help of these mobile technologies. The latest mobile banking applications are banking on the emerging technologies these days such the Beacon
Technology and Artificial Intelligence. Block Chain
Technology are extensively used in the banking sector for different types of operations such as the automatic transfer of money from one account to another without any human intervention. These emerging technologies are effectively used by banking organizations due to their increased effectiveness (Baptista & Oliveira, 2015). The working principles of the working organization is based on the principals of the payment system. There are lots of payments gateways which are very much needed for payment purposes. The treasury, reporting, payment, security, trade finance and management facilities can be effectively handled with the use of advanced technologies in the banking organisations. The convenience and advantages provided by mobile technology to banking organisations are the most important reason why these emerging technologies are widely accepted all over the world.
The bank organisations can provide enhanced services to their clients in an affordable manner with the help of mobile technologies. The security and reliability provided by these mobile technologies are also very much appreciated by every banking corporation. Most of the baking corporation uses advanced emerging technologies in their working environment for different types of purposes and most of them have seen the positive impact of those technologies which is the main reason behind the global acceptance of this organisation (Shaikh & Karjaluoto, 2015). Proliferation of the non-banks, automated financial service systems and digital banking are the other type of innovation which plays the role of driver for the spreading of these mobile technologies in the banking sector. The enhanced services provided by the banks are very much useful from the perspective of the clients also.
Drivers for improvement of ILS
Latest technologies such as the block chain technology act as the drivers of innovation for the banking industry. The application of bitcoins is increasingly rising in the banking sector as well as this type of cryptocurrency is used for different types of purposes these days such as the gaming website and lottery websites. The networking nodes which are used to verify the transaction are also very much safe these days (Saji & Paul, 2018). The automated processes used in the banking sector have less compatibility issues these days. The cross institution services are given by the banking sector with the help of innovative technologies. The mobile technologies are actively used in three department modules such as transactions, communications and information in the banking industries. Different types of loans such as education loans, business loans are very much easier to understand with these help of these mobile technologies.
The mobile technologies can be widely used to check the total available balance of the current account as well as the savings account. The credit and debit cards can be handled effectively with the use of mobile technologies as these technologies are very much user friendly in nature. The extensive development in the field of mobile technology has to the growth of the merchant services such as the credit card processing, reporting, collections of the checks, and reconciliation. The management of the cash involving the payroll services and deposit services are done with the help of the discussed technologies (Malaquias & Hwang, 2016). The main advantage of these technologies is that the previous transactions can be seen as a security purpose which was not there in the previous banking technologies. The technological requirements should be effectively managed by the internal stakeholders of the banking corporation so that the desired results are obtained.
