Project stake holders and their roles in the project
Supply of Clear Water by Coca Cola Napal to the Labhra Community
In the undertaking of a project by coca cola to supply clear water to the Labhra region there are several people/ groups or organisations that are concerned by the current as well as future activities of the project.
Project manager
The project manager is tasked with implementing the project. His roles include winning and managing the water sanitation and other issues surrounding the environment.
He is supposed to plan the project and carry it out in close relation with the other stakeholders who are interested in the project. In his implementation, he is supposed toconsider non-profitable factors such as community welfare, social and development of institutions this is vital for gaining the goodwill which will lead to community support of the project activities. The responsibility of the project manager involves seeking a potential project, assembling the necessary resources and implementing the project. These tasks involve the employees with the manager just acting as the link
The water supply will be in the labhra region while the coca cola company is in the Kathmandu and Bharatpur region of Nepal this will involve several travels to analyse the area hence the project manager may need to work closely with the investors
The employees are a vital organ of the project stakeholders. For the water supply project to succeed the managers must get a way of ensuring the employees interest are attained in a way they give them the motivational required to attain the objective s of the project in time. As much they offer their services for pay the employees are also interested in the project interms of equal treatment at the work place, promotional opportunities and offering of training to them by the firm
Also for them to dedicate their future to implementing the water supply project the employees will need to be aware of the potentiality of the project and be able to gauge their job security. For these reasons, the employees are very important if the project targets are to be achieved.
These are groups which are responsible for availing the inputs which the coca cola company require for them to be able to supply adequate clear water to the whole community. The suppliers are interested in the business especially in the financial perspective of the firm. They need to gauge the future liquidity of the firm to plan their business engagement with the company in implementing the water supply project.
Also, the suppliers are entitled to fair play when it comes to business activities such as offering of tenders.
If the project is to succeed therewill be need to have reliable suppliers which will ensure the production activities of the company flows continuously. This group is not that vital to the firm’s success but lack of reliability in its part may lead to failure of the business unless they can generate the important inputs on their own.
The Labhra community will be an external stake holder though it has little impact when it comes to analysing the success of the project it needs cannot be ignored. The organization is an artificial being established within the natural beings for this purpose there is need for them to associate cooperatively. The community expects the business to carry out its activities in a community beneficial way. The firm should engage the community activities such as establishing of schools, building of social amenities as well as promoting the less fortunate in the society.
Project manager
As the water supply project is undertaken within the community there is need for the firm to offer the community priority when it comes to employment opportunities especially the unskilled labour supply. Also, the organization should source inputs which are locally available from the community. This cooperation will create mutual interdependence which will give the organization the support of the community.
The Lehbra region is a village which have a local authority in place. This authority is responsible for establishing the policies guiding the business activities in the area. The firm should therefore seek their permission before venturing into the project implementation. As far as the success of the project is concerned the local authority provides a very minimal contribution. There may provide social services such as roads and power for the project but their major role is ensuring the business operates within the established laws.
Water is a very vital commodity therefore before coca cola can initiate the project they will need the permission of the environmental regulatory authority to ensure their source of water is safe for human consumption the body does not contribute when it comes to the success of the project but it’s very vital to work closely with them for the benefit of the consumers. Also, they regulated waste disposal techniques to ensure the community is not affected by pollution.

Implication of stake holders’ analysis to the management of the project
Carrying out stake holders’ analysis draws out the interest of the of the stake holders in relation to the project. For this purpose, the management of the project are in abetterway to cater for the needs of all the groups which play a role in the success of the project. This makes the project relevant to the stake holders and so offer solutions to the community in large
Since stake holders’ analysis magnifies the interest of various groups in the project it is a better way to highlight some of the conflicting interest which the management of the project together with the investors should analyse before carrying out the project. By raising the conflicting interest at an earlier stage of the project evaluation issues which may hinder the project success during implementation are addressed in advance hence raising the chances of the management success in achieving their objectives
A project financial viability might not be the only factor considered in its evaluation. Through carrying out stakeholders’ analysis other areas such as social viability is evaluated and effective conclusion drawn this way the project when being implemented will be able to consider the social interest of the community which is an effective way of drawing community support for the project
Project evaluation by highlighting the expectations of the various stake holders about the project may make it easy to initiate coalition between the various stake holders sharing similar interest in the project. The outcome of the coalition may give the project management a better competitive advantage in the market which may result into project implementation success.
The analysis of employees’ interest in the project assist the manager optimise the employee job satisfaction and so production.knowing the employees’ need makes it easy for the manager to set up effective work environment and productive motivational plan. Also, he needs to consider government regulation regarding hiring of employees, fair practice and work environment which discourages discrimination.
For a project to succeed in the 21st century then the project manager must find a wat to balance the profits with basic social and responsibilities as per the needs of the local community. The local leaders expect the project to be conducted with integrity and honesty. Activities such as charitable offerings to local non-profit setups such as schools are necessary to build the goodwill of the organization in relation to the community. The project should be constantly represented in the community events (Ethier, 2009).
