Social networks in the modern world are supporting celebrities by providing a communication channel [1:21].
Generally, celebrity entails fame and public attention which is always enhanced through the use of mass media. It’s only a group or individuals in the society who are accorded with this fame. The history of celebrity started back in 1900. By 1920s silent films started to be a part of the daily life to many people in the world. This era was characterized by different activities. This has been enhanced through the entrepreneurship and endorsement activities. The sale of fashions has been associated with celebrities meaning many companies are using dressing stars to sell their products to the customers. Fashion has been used through product branding and through advertisement. The PowerPoint part of the assignment appreciates the importance of dressing stars and celebrities in the society in different fields. The first discussion in the slides is the dressing star and celebrities in fashion. The second part is the discussion on the issue of celebrity branding followed by the aspect of celebrity in entertainment, use of celebrities in the field of sports and the last part describing the role of social media in the identification of dressing stars and celebrities in the society[5:00].
Generally, successful fields such as the sports and entertainment are commonly associated with celebrities (Letort, 2016 p.31).There are number of ways in which people can become a dressing star and celebrities in different fields. Most of the people become celebrities through the mass media which most of the time is concerned with the lifestyle and the wealth of an individual. Through this then one becomes a celebrity. Therefore, celebrities are always associated with high social status since they are always believed to have a lot of wealth. Celebrities and dressing stars always brings different aspect to the society (Deshaye, 2014 p.71).Most of the information conveyed through the dressing stars and celebrities always affects the culture.
Cultures in different localities tend to have independent celebrity who is always recognised due to some unique capabilities. For example, a community speaking French may have social systems which have French-speaking social media, they have movie celebrities and also music celebrities. Sometimes celebrities can go beyond their culture and be famous outside. We have individuals who are famous in the entire world (Deshaye, 2014 p.312).These are the biggest celebrities who always demands biggest commands and attention to the outside nation. Sometimes the command of these dressing stars and celebrities may not reach the other culture meaning it’s obscure. For celebrities to be populous then it means that they have to work on their skills and show their best.
Apart from the fields of entertainment and sports we have celebrities who are in politics. They form the legal part of the topic meaning individuals are celebrities because of their position in the politic. Most of the leaders who actually plays more roles in the political arena in a nation are more populous (Atik & F?rat, 2013 p.81).The heads of political movements become celebrities to the people around and also to the entire world. For example, the president of United States of America is famous by billions of people and also well known in the entire world. Celebrities in politics tend to diminish as the new individuals replaces them. This indicates that political leaders are populous for limited time since they are continually replaced. Also, we have some people who are famous because of the areas they have succeeded in. For instance if one tries to mention the famous boxer everyone is on Muhammad Ali and people like Mike Tyson. These were some of the famous individuals because of the powerful things they did. We have famous players, famous musicians and famous news presenters. They are celebrities because of what they do and the talents they have (Atik & F?rat, 2013 p.111).
In the video I have tried to reveal how different celebrities have been used to enhance different aspects in the society. There are a lot of celebrities in the world and different people have used celebrities to perform different activities. For example, celebrities are being used in the commercial field whereby they are serving as the image for a certain activity. Dressing stars are used in fashion industries whereby they serving as the advertising icon for the business. The fourth slide of the video shows how entrepreneurship and endorsement has been facilitated by the use of celebrities. We have celebrity branding whereby different companies have been using the successful celebrities when advertising their products in the market (?ahin & Atik, 2013 p.78).Also, when celebrities are building the image of business to the public they are also gaining adequate money from the adverts they represent. In addition we have celebrities who have ventured in the world of business. The video indicates how Pepsi Company is using Beyoncé on its adverts. This is to create awareness to the market segment since a lot of people want to be associated with any activity concerning Beyoncé.
Also, in the 11th slide have indicated how mass media plays key role in making individuals popular in a society (?ahin & Atik, 2013 p.267)We have social platforms which have facilitated the mode of communication. Celebrities are reaching their audience by use of these social platforms. For instance I have indicated how people use online platforms to upload and download videos and images. Through this approach then celebrities are in position to display their work ether they are musician, either they are players or even characters in movies. A large number of people can access the online platforms meaning they can view what celebrities are dong in their careers. In addition, the video has analysed on the entire concept of entertainment and use of celebrities in sports .The 9th slide indicates how players have been used for commercial purpose. We have companies such as the Nike Company which is paying players on the adverts (?ahin & Atik, 2013 p.300).This shows that celebrities are the source of attractiveness in the modern world. Therefore, the entire video analyses the use of celebrities in different areas. Each slide describes how celebrities have been used for different purpose.
