The Experience of Learning
The presence of media in my daily life is strong; from the morning to the day end. This ubiquity of media made me investigate its effect in business services and this drove me to the topic of this research paper. The physical existence of the ubiquitous media in business operations cannot be ignored. This is a reflective journal about me learning process through the research proposal and what are the outcomes I got. The knowledge I gained, the contradiction of ideas I experienced and future prospects of this research I will be discussing in details. My aim was to not to limit this research in the sphere of theories so I tried to incorporate as many data and statistics as possible to enhance its practicability.
I set certain research objectives for my project. Primary objective for my project was to study what role the ubiquitous media is playing in business and how it is getting expanded. Then this research aimed to investigate the advantages and drawbacks of the media systems and what impact they have on the business. I explored multiple useful theories about ubiquitous media that helped me to gain a deeper understanding on the subject. I structured the whole research process in such a way that it would help me to learn a lot and help the research domain and the business sector as well.
While I was setting the research objectives I had to consider the future prospect of this research too. The course study and my mentor have been guiding in the right direction that will help me to reach a destination knowledge and confidence. I will apply those in my career in future. As I was exploring a very contemporary aspect of current business operations, the proper knowledge on its use, advantages, and disadvantages will help me to become a profession whose knowledge on a specific area can be utilized by most organizations. This research also aims to assist all other business organizations that are directly or indirectly implementing the ubiquitous media in the organizational performances. I tried to explore the existing realistic examples that were supported by useful data and information. These information can be used by the future researchers in their research that will help them explore more areas in this field. The research report can be utilized by the company managements as well in order to understand the various challenges they are facing due to the implementation of ubiquitous media in the business operations and what are they areas that can be improved. More involvement from the researchers and managements in analyzing and studying this area will enhance the future business as a whole. My journey through the learning process and gaining adequate knowledge will help me to nourish professional skills that will be useful for my career.
Future Scope of the Research
I searched and reviewed various literature related to the ubiquitous media in business organizations and their operations. It was necessary for me to investigate the texts to understand the significance and presence of ubiquitous media in organizational performances. I found that many researchers have discussed the usefulness of ubiquitous media in monitoring and observing the employee performance. The texts also highlight that contemporary organizations greatly depend on this innovative technology. Ubiquitous media is getting embedded in the operational process. The organizations are using this media to communicate and connect with a large number of people. The data exchange and transformation for the companies have become easier with the help of online and internet channels. However the researchers also highlighted that the overuse of such technologies have been affecting the competitive edge by increasing the organizational rivalry. Few researchers have demonstrated that methods like u-commerce model helps to build effective communication among products, consumers, services and organizations. The texts also highlighted the fact that rise of this ubiquitous media has greatly affected the traditional mode of media as gradually they are losing their relevance. The u-commerce media is mainly comprised of the ubiquitous media form, content and technology.
I noticed that the ubiquitous media has been present in the business sector for a quite a long time. The organizations have shifted their strategies from physical to the virtual in order to meet the consumer satisfaction which is ever changing. It is noticeable that managements are combining digital systems with biological aspects to improve the business performance. This combination has been generating high profits for the company. I found that the rise of the ubiquitous media not only benefitted the organizations but also gave rise to many intermediating agencies. The consumers get engaged in direct communication with the organizations and get updated about their services. The ubiquitous media helps the organizations to implement learning from the external environment and apply it in the business operations. The companies have not only reached to the more number of consumers but it also successfully expanded the target market.
In order to turn the research into a complete project I had to explore various issues and disadvantages that this media is causing. I found that the decision making of various companies are suffering. The hybrid technology becomes quite complicated for certain business services. Many companies also fail to regularly monitor their activities on ubiquitous media. The traditional media practices were easy for managers even if they lacked adequate knowledge but with ubiquitous media it is almost impossible for a management to maintain a ubiquitous media in their organizational performance. It is also quite evident in real life practice that not all the organizations can afford ubiquitous media devices. However the maximum concern regarding the use of ubiquitous media in business operations is the data privacy. Another problem I experienced was the organizations tend to suffer if they are incorporating this media in the existing devices as use of this media requires new devices and hard to replace.
Journey through the Literature
The in depth literature review also highlighted certain literature gaps that exist. The researchers have discussed the problems that I found out and discussed but they did not provide with any solutions of such problems. There are high chances for the organizations to suffer greatly if they fail to prepare themselves prior to the implementation of ubiquitous media in their business operations. I discussed how like any other new strategy the ubiquitous media also comes with both advantages and disadvantages. Though the secondary research I was involved in failed to fill the literature gaps that I mentioned.
As I completed my initial research I focused on the achieving the desired goal of fulfilling the research objectives, I developed few research questions that would guide me towards it. Firstly I wanted understand what ubiquitous media is and then I focused more on the age group that have been affected most by it. Finally I wanted to investigate why this specific age group is getting affected by the system. I took help of the hypothesis that the age group of 15-60 is getting mostly affected by it. I set up a questionnaire for the primary data collection that focused on the ubiquitous media system in organizational operations. I decided to take interviews of the ubiquitous media users, stakeholders and service providers. Their answers resulted in a data that helped me to achieve the significant insight of the system. I also conducted a pilot study before actually implementing the planned techniques. This assisted me to fix the price, effort and consistency of the development. After the planning I decided upon 10 questions and provide the respondents with necessary information to complete them. For this research I collected both primary and secondary data for the analysis in the future. I considered the ethics and values while conducting the data collection. I was careful while developing the questionnaire that it was not getting affected by personal views. Also the challenges I faced regarding the respondents replying the questions not within the time limit, but I could not force them because of my convenience. I tried to provide the participants with comfortable environment that helped them to engage in the process more comfortably. I was careful that any information would not get disclosed without the participant’s consent.
Conclusion
I conducted a detailed research on the chosen subject that explored various directions for me. The knowledge I gathered through the process will not only be helpful for me as a future business professional but also to the future researchers and managements. I realized that most organizations are implementing the ubiquitous media strategy at a fast speed. They are mostly doing this successfully but at the same time few organizations are struggling with its complicacy and security issues. My research has highlighted that the digital revolution of our era has gave birth to the rise of ubiquitous media and it not only affected use in our daily lives but also the business services for companies worldwide.
