Project Objective
With the changes in ramified economic conditions and increasing populations, there are several factors which have been impacting the traffic and other complexity in the daily lives of the social human being. It is analyzed that there is direct and indirect relation between increase in population and effect on different factors like traffic, accidents and all casual problems. Population is studied in terms of a certain geographic area. It refers to a certain number of individuals who reside in a particular geographic area. Population, in a simple language means the number of living beings residing in a particular space. Population comes with a certain parameters involving terminology like population size, i.e. the number of people in an area actually, population density, i.e. the total population of an area divided by the total area of that place. There is huge problem of traffic congestion in the rural areas too which have emerged due to the increase in the number of population. It has been observed that with the increased traffic the condition of roads is also deteriorating which has increased the traffic and jams on roads. Population rise is affected by a certain factors being the birth rates, death rates, food, disease, temperature, disasters etc. (Malthus, 2018). These all factors play pivotal roles in the increasing the population throughout the time. The below is the parts which have been given to analysis the relation between the increase in population and effect on different factors like traffic, accidents and all casual problems.
The objective of this project is to identify the relationship between the increase in population and the effect of such increase on different factors like traffic, accidents, and other casual problems being unemployment, hunger, and lack of education facilities, unhygienic environment, crime, poverty, illiteracy, lifestyle changes, and unavailability of basic facilities etc. The main objective of this report is to analysis how increasing population could negatively impact the different factors like traffic, accidents, and other casual problems. it will not only develop the divergent thinking but also strengthen the coherent view points on this particular issues. It will also assists me to understand the concept regarding how to establish the nexus between two different factors which influenced by each other.
Project Scope
This project is based on certain researches done on past analysis as well as other observations that directly lay down a relationship between two factors. The first factor being the rise in population and the other factors are the issues such as traffic, accidents, and all other casual problems. The casual problems include unemployment, hunger, illiteracy, unhygienic environment, crime etc. The coming sections shall include the literature review that will explain the complete relationship and the conclusion regarding the results drawn. In order to analyse the relation between increasing population and its impact on the different factors like traffic, accidents, and other casual problem, there are several journal articles, books and web information will be evaluated in systematic approach.
This project tells about the cause and effect of population growth which also emphasis upon the negative impact of increasing population on other associated factors. The study is a relative one. It shows how the factors are interrelated in themselves. The dependency of different factors on each other is clearly defined.
With the change in time, people in economy have developed effectively and also in numbers as compared to last 10 years data, they have increase by 1/3 ratio data. The current scenario is of increasing growth in the population of every geographical space that one can know the name of. As per the perception of Philip, et al., (2014) it is reflected that This reflects the ramified changes in increasing complexities arise due to the increasing in the number of populations and how it will impact the people in different manner. . It has been observed that with the increased traffic arise due to the increased number of populations, the condition of roads is also deteriorating which has increased the traffic and jams on roads. Population rise is affected by a certain factors being the birth rates, death rates, food, disease, temperature, disasters. The human resources being limited are being snatched by the increasing load of individuals that are to share a limited space and the limited number of resources that the nature has to provide to them. Every other person on this planet is facing the ill effects of this rise and is fighting to grab his share of land and resources. Although the number of working hands are increasing due to the rise in population, but the same has popped up several serious issues. The solution to these problems is getting hard to find. The coming section put forwards a discussion regarding the various problems that are created due to the rise in population:
Literature Review
As per the views of Taleai, Sliuzas, and Flacke, (2014) it is divulged that due to the rise in the number of people that have to travel places in order to commute for their work, the number of vehicles on the road is increasing day by day. The lanes are congested with heavy load of vehicles and especially during the peak hours. Every member of a family now owns a separate vehicle. The mobility has become time taking and the population density has risen. The increased traffic has its own side effects. Due to excess traffic the emission of the poisonous gases in the environment has risen.
As of roads becomes even worse. There is just the requirement of rebuilding roads again and again to even out this issue. The rise in traffic has led to the rise in time it takes to go back per the views of Colby, and Ortman, (2017) it is divulged that the problem of traffic is not limited to urban areas or metropolitan cities only. There is huge problem of traffic congestion in the rural areas too. With the increased traffic and deteriorated condition of roads, many people are suffering from several issues. There are puddles everywhere on the roads and with the onset of even little rain the condition and forth from one place to another (Anderson, 2014).
As stated by Philip, et al. (2014), it is revealed that with the increase in the population, in economy, the demand for public transport has also increased. This rising demand is being fulfilled by increasing the vehicles required for the commutation of public. Moreover, every alternate day vehicles are being used for some or other sort of campaign. All this is adding to the traffic jams and overcrowding problems.
As stated by Helliwell, and Huang, (2014) it is reflected that The worsened traffic levels due to rise in the number of travelling individuals have certainly increased the number of accidents that are happening. The congestion on the roads and ignorance by a certain percentage of population for traffic rules have led to chaos on roads. These road traffic injuries are turning very serious as there are no proper first aid facilities available for emergency situations. Citizens are dealing with these tragic situations in day to day life. Leave death by road accidents apart, other significant health issues are also hampering the remaining life of accident survivors.
Traffic
As per the views of Chang, et al. (2014), it is reflected that the people residing on street sides are not safe even. Due to rash driving several street side people end up their life. It’s a huge socioeconomic cost for the whole society. In the recent years only, this situation has worsened largely. The scenario had been moderate a decade ago, but the sudden rise in the living individuals has added to this issue. Not only the car or truck drivers, but the pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists are not safe. The rise in traffic has led to increase in irritation and frustration among the vehicle drivers which is again a cause of accidents.
As per the views of Lewis, (2017) it is revealed that the number of dependents on the resources of the country has risen. The resources that the nation has are limited. Poverty is the cause and effect of rising population. The reason is simple. It is analyzed that many people are suffering from the issues and losses of high population. Resultantly, they add a lot to the population. Conversely, a large number of people snatching resources are adding to the number of poor. It is a vicious cycle that never ends.
The people who are born in poor families are more bound to live in poverty and face issues likes lack of education, unavailability of basic facilities etc. The whole world is still debating over whether poverty is because of excess population or excess population is because of poverty.
As stated by Bates, et al. (2014). It is revealed that the rise in population has led to the degradation of education facilities available to the people. The number of students availing the education resources has increased as compared to the facilities available to them. The education system too has been destroyed. It has become more of theoretical than practical. There are underprivileged areas in the country where the children are not getting even elementary education. This all situation has led to high level of illiteracy in the country.
As per the views of Honeyman, (2016), it is revealed that the increased illiteracy has forced a number of children in the country to do child labour. The age, at which the children should be carrying the happiness of schoolbags, they are burdened to carry the load of labour. The whole family of a child lies on his job and the work he does. As discussed above the rising poverty level, also has deprived people to get access to good education facilities. Due to this, they do not have anything purposeful to grow and end up doing labour at an early age which keeps them in the clutches of striking poverty.
Rise In Accidents
In the last bullet it is discussed that the rising population has caused a major problem of illiteracy. The illiterates find it difficult to catch good opportunities relating to decent working. Moreover, they even do not find a stable source of employment and mostly remain unemployed.
As per the perception of Helliwell, and Huang, (2014), it is revealed that the work that they even find is far less than basic and makes them fall in the category of underemployed. They are paid less than they might have earned if they had got good education. A financial crunch is created in their life and the overall purchasing capacity of nation is reduced. Another reason is the demand of labour is not rising at a rate equivalent to the rate of population rise. There are always more of people willing to work than the work that is available for them. This increase in supply of labour has even decreased the rate at which the employed people get work.
As stated by Goldstone, (2018), it is reflected that Population rise is a multifaceted issue. Every sector of this earth is facing issues due to the same. Effects of population being the rise in traffic and increased consumption of resources are on the verge of degrading the environment. The traffic is increasing the emission of harmful and poisonous gases which is leading to several problems like depletion of ozone layer, global warming, and decreased oxygen levels etc. It is analyzed that increasing population will also increase the number of vehicles on roads. It will eventually increase the traffics and will result to problems such as emergence of poison gases and global warming in society.
Resource utilisation has increased which is adding to the side effects on the nature. The amount of land that nature is providing is limited. But, the number of users of the same is increasing. This is reducing the amount of resources that each individual can consume. People are degrading the natural resources harshly. The water bodies have become dumping houses. People dump garbage, poisonous liquids, waste and even dead bodies in water sources. This had deteriorated the water quality.
Poverty
Moreover, to increase the employment number of industries is increasing. These industries and factories emit gases full of poison in the environment and degrade the quality of air that the living beings inhale. This leads to generation of harmful health issues. Respiration problems are increasing and breathing issues are generated.
As per the views of Colby, and Ortman, (2017) it is divulged that to accommodate rising population, people are now cutting down the lush forests. The green places are now turning into developed societies. This is leading to harmful effects for the wildlife also. They are migrating into ecosystems least suitable for them. It is adding to the list of wildlife beings that are on the verge of extinction.
Food, shelter and clothing are a basic requirement of every living human being. When the number of people having the requirement of these basic resources rises, the veil of availability over these resources falls. Starvation is increasing due to number of people needing food. Many people do not get food for minimum three times a day. Malnutrition is increasing in the children. The food that most of the underprivileged children get is devoid of any nutrients.
As discussed earlier, the land area doesn’t increase with any rise in the population. The new population have to share the same space that is already in use by the rest of population. This results in a crisis situation. Slums are developing in every metropolitan area because people are shifting from rural to urban areas and are not getting any place to accommodate. In order to get a roof over head they develop slums in the outskirts of the city and this also leads to unhygienic kind of living. People who do not have money to eat and get a proper roof over their heads are obviously not in a situation to buy proper clothing for themselves (Taleai, Sliuzas, and Flacke, 2014).
As per the views of Taleai, Sliuzas, and Flacke, (2014) it is divulged that In the scenario of increasing population, the rich are getting rich and the poor are getting poor. There is degradation in the lifestyle of people. The purchasing power of a few classes of society has decreased at an alarming rate. People, who earn nowadays, earn only that much which can fulfil their needs. The concept of saving is diminishing. Leave apart the ultra-rich class, People have enough just to live a basic living. These changing trends are also changing the mind sets of the business owners.
Conclusion
In a nutshell, population growth is not a single problem at it may seem. It comes with a lot other issues. Population growth is a start and an end in itself. It sets an unending loop that connects different dots together and frames a base for other problems to groom. Every problem is so interconnected that if one start solving a single issue, other connected issues are also somehow start to solve. A simple step by the central authority can provide a solution to many problems. Now in the end, after analysing all the details and information, it could be inferred that increasing population will increase the complexity of the other issues which will negatively impact the human at large. The main issue is related to increase the employment number of industries is increasing. It is analyzed that with the increasing number of industries and factories, it has resulted to increasing the emit gases full of poison in the environment and degrade the quality of air that the living beings inhale. It is the biggest negative factor which may pose high threat to the human’s lives in society.
