Comparison of Leadership and employee performance with positive leadership and psychological capital
With the best shot at following the positive leadership as the guidance in the field of organisational work there is some changes noticed in the organisation (Abbas et al. 2014). Following every basic requirement of positive leadership in building loyalty, ethical work, respectable words, integrity, character, courage and accountability; there is some situation which seems to be off the mark in becoming a proper follower of positive leadership. The objectivity of having an optimistic and positive mind with every challenges faced is not fulfilled by the leaders in general period of organisational operation. Which does not clearly shows confidence and proper standard for maintaining both personal and professional level work. All this aspect clearly suggest that there are some differences present which can be used to bring forward the comparison between actual positive leadership and the quality presented by the leaders in the organisation (Antonakis and House, 2013).
Keeping the employees in the organisation satisfied falls under the segment of important objectives that must be presented by management of the organisation at any cost. That is where psychological capital comes into play. Determining the operation in the organisation and actual psychological capital (Basak et al. 2013), We see that hope and Optimism is well presented by the employees. The sense of resilience is seen being practiced by most of the employees in the organisation. However, there are situation which does create a line of comparison when discussed about the objectivity of having Self efficacy. Recent of achieving goal within stipulated period of time without any help of the top level management does lack in the employees creative devastating issues in organisational development process many times (Dinh et al. 2014).
Types of employees:
An organization is nothing without its employees. Be it designing, planning or allocating the tasks, resources, delegating or assigning responsibilities and executing all planning, it is required to have skilled set of employees. Not only skill, talent but also higher motivation of them leads to demonstration of certain qualities like great leadership, management, task completion etc that further hastens the success of the firm in terms of business outcome. The different types of employees visible in an organization pertaining to different roles play important part in pulling out resources and being led in such a manner so that success can be ensured for the firm.
Four Constructs of Psychological Capital
Mostly employees belong to professional category where everyone is assigned with certain roles and responsibilities. They deliver their performance in accordance to the professional requirement and adhere to the basic demand of the firm in terms of good performance. Professional employees are well motivated to deliver greater performance something that is expected out of them (Wang and Hou, 2015). They follow the rules, regulations set by the firm in order to meet the expectation level planned by the organization. Professionalism , dedication toward duties and focus toward ultimate achievement of huge turnover, profit for the firm are their actual motivation around which they revolve.
Administrative employees on the other hand are the core employees of a firm. they are responsible in providing assistance to lots of important duties that executes administration related tasks. Their tasks or job role is much varied that includes planning, scheduling, book keeping and documentation. Administrative employees are endowed with greater skill sets to manage difficult tasks which are important to maintain smooth functioning of administration of an organization. Their functions includes provision of customer service, assistance in administrative management, logistics, maintenance, storage etc. They perform multifaceted office support in general. They deal with sending and receiving of documents, managing documents and files, scheduling various meeting, events, interviews, activities as well as coordinate them, preparing and presenting correspondence agenda, business goals, operating machines in office, greeting various delegates, visitors, guests and so on (Dimitrios 2014).
Apart from professional, administrative type of employment there is some type of employment that takes care of emotional requirement associated with the job roles provided to the employees. Such process of managing the expressions, feelings of the workers is termed as emotional labour. In order to regulate the emotional factor associated with job it is important to identify and understand them (Hart, 2018). Workers when dealing with customers, supervisors and co-workers it is important that they maintain balanced emotions during their interactions. Under such process, emotional expression are analyzed in the decision making process as well. Such kind of emotional labours has higher demand in workplaces like public administration, teaching profession, social works, health care sector and so on.
In countries like Australia white collar employees refer to the ones who are associated with white collar jobs. A white caller worker is a performer of various professional, administrative and managerial activities within a business organization. The white collar employees are provided with huge responsibilities of execution of planning, managing resources and various management related tasks.
A blue collar job on the other hand refers to the ones that require use of hands and body motions of the workers. It indicates manual labour put by the employees. Blue collar jobs are multitude in nature and as per the level of jobs, the skills set required differ. Some of the blue collar workers are required to be highly trained, skilled, motivated and certified. They can work in sectors like aircraft, structural works, plumbers, and mechanics and so on. There are some of the blue collar jobs that recruit poor skilled labour with low level of skill set and talent. The idea is to make them perform simplest tasks like maintenance of organizations, cleaning etc (Form 2015).
Comparison between Actual Positive Leadership and Quality Presented by Leaders
Comparison of workplace from recent potential possibility
There is not much to differentiate when it comes to compare our workplace and the possible work place as per recent research work. Every workplace in organisations have their own way of working keeping in mind the implementation of every work may lead towards both positive and negative impact. However, considering all the aspect for achieving objectivity within particular period of time and by following positive leadership and psychological capital our workplace excel in managing the emotional state of the employees and also developing the leadership skills and techniques of the leaders which day to day activities as challenges.
Impact of positive leadership and psychological capital on performance of firm:
The importance of psychological capital and positive leadership in 21st century is felt more deeply with the emergence of various multinational corporations, firms. With that various concepts of management, separation of ownerships, conflicts among managers, owners became common phenomenon. These have greater implication on the performance of the firm. A business firm has various stakeholders such as government, individual, owners, creditors, managers and so on. Conflict in decision making, planning and executing leads to loss of efficiency in the organizational performances. This clearly implies the difficulty of the managers, leaders to move in one direction and try t maximize the interest as well as pay off of the individuals and shareholders. Such situations cam be avoided through application of positive leadership which focuses on ideals, values that should be imbibed in every individual. Value based foundation, integrity orientation of such leadership allow the managers, employees to come together and make decision as well as execute while agreeing to each other. Application of positive leadership is one of the fruit of positive psychological mindset that each employee should inculcate. Importance of positive psychology is also as important as a capital in the business.
Positive leadership allows individual workers of the firm to grow sense of values, integrity, morality so that the performance of each one’s assigned task gets increased and reach higher level over time. Only a positive leadership can identify issues in a team and come up with solution, strategies so that efficiency of performance is achieved (Cummings, Grau, and Wong 2014). It is a great source of motivation among workers. Motivation, great ideals, values lead to a worker friendly atmosphere that encourage every individual to do justice to their assigned job role, Quite interestingly summation of individual effort leads to greater picture of consolidated business process. Importance of positive leadership in evoking effectiveness in the business process in very crucial. It is worth noting that programs like assessment of performance of the employees, rewarding them, recognizing their efforts etc enhances the self esteem, optimism of the workers (Dimitrios 2014).. They start hoping better performance from themselves as well as greater outcome for the firm. The pinch of hope, self esteem and optimism enhances the resilience factors among the workers. Thus positive leadership also helps in constructing the positive psychology of individual and help it to turn into important capital for the smooth operation of business process.

Leaders can ensure their success with everyday challenges they face but an organisation does not only work with their capability. Without the employees in the organisation leaders are nothing but a group of people (Rego et al. 2012). Therefore, by considering the development of the psychological standard of the employees there can be creation of intangible asset which would lead to a long-term beneficial ground. Bringing out the standard of hope and resilience among the employees in our organisation, we can consider every difficult task to be doable.
