Over the years , Tim Burton has captivated the eyes of people from young to old for 30 years. Tim burton can be known for his movies that are more are the gloomy but inspiring films . To accompany his passion for gloomy films , he uses actor Johnny Depp because of his ability to “act with his eyes”. In order to make an exemplary film , he uses cinematic techniques such as Imagery , Foreshadowing , music , and Lighting .
First, Tim Burton uses imagery to set the tone for the whole movie.
From gloomy to gaudy burton uses imagery to show set the audience with a mood for that scene in that movie. An example would be in Edward Scissorhands, when Edward was created, he was abandoned in a empty semi gloomy house because of the death of his creator. Burton showed that by including holes in the roof brown, dull looking wood and colors, and music to accompany that. For a viewer, that sets a picture I their mind kind of how the movie is going to be.
Also in the movie when Peg took Edward to her town, Tim burton used imagery to show how Edward monotone color and personality contrasted to how a conform-based society full of color.
Next, Tim Burton uses foreshadowing to reveals key hints about the movie even from the first few seconds of the opening credits to the very last second of the ending credits. A good example would be Edward scissor hands would be the opening scene . The opening scene showcases a grandma talking to her granddaughter about Edward scissorhands with a snowy scenery in the background.
This foreshadows the resolution where Kim precedes to tell everybody that Edward Scissorhands is dead. Even though , he could not die . In the resolution, it shows Kim now old and telling her granddaughter the story of the snow again while it showcase Edward with the same ice sculptures she had when she was young making it snow . To remind him of that good time they shared. And Kim that he still is alive.
