I created an environment in the entire team wherein with the usage of the full capacities, the clarity and transparency helped me in achieving the collective goal of the company effectively.
There was a situation in the team wherein I had to handle a conflict between the two of the team members. I handled the entire situation with the help of my leadership skills that I have learnt during the on the job training process. I tried to handle the situation wherein with the utilization of the design thinking, I tried to listen to both the parties and provided inspirational motivation to the employees.
Similarly, there was a situation in the team wherein the idealized influence and Individualized consideration helped me in inspiring and motivating the employees to perform the tasks in an effectual manner. As per me, my main motive was to encourage the employees to perform effectively and develop a shared vision as the integral component of the transformational leadership’s role. As a transformational leader, I tried to disburses the attention to the individuals’ attention along with growth as well. I did not dictate the employees who were working under me in my team, instead I tried to understand their point of views and analysed them effectively.
This was one of the specific experiences that has been faced by me in the past wherein I tried to understand the viewpoints of my team mates as this helped me in understanding their ideas and applied them in an innovative manner as well. When I was studying in college, I was chosen as the head of the entire cultural fests and events that held in our college. I tried to perform the tasks in an effectual manner with my own ideas and beliefs. However, there were many instances wherein such ideas did not work out and I was an autocratic kind of leader who did not listen to the others beliefs along with thoughts.
Similarly, I used to decide all the different programs and other events of the fest on my own and if I did anything in a wrong manner, I used to correct it myself as I felt I was the boss of the things that has to be performed by me. However, there was an instance wherein I did not successfully complete an essential event of my college and all the higher officials of the college were upset with my work and performance.
Furthermore, then I decided that I should not be an autocratic kind of leader as this did not help me in mixing my efforts of the team in an effectual manner. I tried to change my leadership style as I wanted to mix up with my entire team and perform the task in a strategic manner. I tried to implement the transformational along with strategic kind of leadership wherein this has helped me in analysing different viewpoints of all the employees and performed the tasks effectively.
When I applied this particular kind of leadership, I along with my team members succeeded in completing the events at annual fest of college in a successful manner. I was happy after the entire completion of the event as this helped me in learning different kind of attributes and behaviour that is required to be possessed by the leaders in the organization. With the implementation of strategic and transformational type of leadership, this helped me in realizing that the different viewpoints of the colleagues are essential and helpful in nature as this helped me in the past in completing tasks effectively and effectually as well.
From the above incident that had taken place with me during my college days, I understood that proper ascertainment is required to be made regarding the attributes and behaviours of the leaders in an effectual manner. - Lastly, focus has to be continually on the improving the tasks and activities performed by the subordinates in the organization or in team as this will help the leaders in becoming effective in nature in handling different grievances and other issues faced by them
