As the definition states, Interpersonal communication is interaction and communication among people that observe one another mainly as unique. It is that type of two-way conversation where the exchange of information takes between two or more people. To be more precise, it is a kind of “interactivity or timely and reciprocal interaction between parties”. Another feature of this communication is that it is “relational” as it aims to build sustaining relationships with the communicators (Lumen learning). The importance of interpersonal intercourse lies in the fact that it helps in attaining desired goals through coordination and motivation to work among various communicators involved. Other significances of interpersonal communication typically include the development of leadership quality, building strong relationships in the workplace, evolving the patience among co-workers to listen to each other, prioritizing others’ opinions (Sarwari et al.). This form of correspondence also teaches the art of negotiating conflict among co-workers. Like other forms form of communication, interpersonal communication too is divided into two specific kinds; verbal and non-verbal where the former means spoke communication whereas the latter suggests information instantly communicated without being spoken.
What’s more interesting about the significance of interpersonal communication is the role played by it in “Gender Communication”. Notably, the interplay between the “Sex” and “Gender” and the theories associated with it (Sarwari et al.).
