The change will be implemented in the organization by developing a change request describing the details of the change. The introduction of automation in the areas of project selection and performance tracking shall be done using a phased approach. According to this approach, the changes will be implemented in the phases as initiation and planning of the change in which the change request will be developed and the associated cost, schedule, and scope impacts will be analysed. The execution and management of the change along with the control & closure of the change will be carried out in next set of steps (Shaw, 2015).
The introduction of the automation of performance tracking and project selection activities will have impact on the organization. There will be impact of the changes on the overall organization budget. An estimated budget of $100,000 will be needed to implement the changes. The timeframe for the implementation of the changes will be 6 months. It will include all the changes activities as initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, management, control, and closure processes. There will be impacts on the scope and quality of the project.
Integrated change control will be given shape by the Project Manager along with Project Control Board. The board and the manager will make sure that the monitoring and control of the changes is effectively carried out. There will assessment and reassessment of the changes done by the Project Manager and the Change Control Board. Change audits will also be carried out by the change control board (Hornstein, 2015).
The review and inspection processes will be carried out to make sure that the implementation of the changes is effectively done. The Project Manager will carry out the internal reviews and will provide the report to the change control board. The change control board will review the report submitted by the Project Manager and will re-review the process. The results will then be published in the final report submitted by the board (Gomes, 2013).
Conclusion
The organization will benefit from the change that has been recommended. The accuracy of the performance tracking processes will improve with the implementation of the change. The introduction of automation in the project selection process will make sure that the organization selects adequate and relevant projects in its lifecycle. The organization revenues, profits, and performance will improve as an outcome (Hughes, 2007).
