The goal of this project to learn about hydrology cycle and water balance, to identify hydrological
elements and their conditions in the watershed, and apply knowledge-based methods to
estimates the water balance in the watershed.
Defining Study Area:
1) Select a watershed anywhere in the world!
2) Create a map showing the location of the watershed.
3) Define the boundary of the watershed
4) Write a short description (one paragraph) of the study area and include the following
information:
Location (state, country, etc.)
Area (approximate)
Population (if any)
Identifying the hydrological conditions in the watershed process:
1) Rainfall stations within the watershed.
2) Evapotranspiration
3) Infiltration (groundwater recharge/discharge)
4) Runoff
5) Storage
The project will be completed section by section as we progress within the lectures. The final
report should include, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion.
Further instructions and updates will be posted accordingly.
