Explanation:
The Hunger Games is a story about a girl named Katniss Everdeen who lives in Panem, a country that has been divided into twelve districts. Each year, one boy and one girl from each district are picked by lottery to participate in the Hunger Games, an annual televised event in which the 24 participants must fight to the death until there is only one winner left.
Katniss volunteers as tribute for District 12 when her sister’s name is called during the reaping ceremony. She agrees to take her younger sister’s place after her father volunteers as well and gets killed during training. At first, Katniss doesn’t want to kill anyone but she soon realizes that if she wants to survive this competition then she will have to kill other tributes.
