Yugioh is a Japanese card game that originated as a children’s cartoon and comparatively speaking adolescent comic book that both debuted in the 1990’s. the original basis of each the cartoon and the comic book was story about a boy named yugi who solved a mystical puzzle box and, as a result, had the spirit of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh “atem” a master of the game duel monsters. Duel monsters is basically yugioh but that was the name of it in the story.
The two undergo lively adventures with their many friends. And using the modernized version of duel monster, A card based game that we are more familiar with, they save the world time and time again from evil forces too numerous to possibly list without going off track from the theme we are attempting to achieve here. So now that you have a general idea of where yugioh came from I want to explain why I enjoy playing.
I have played yugioh for a little under a year now, and I must say nothing is quite as thrilling to me as a good game.
Yugioh fully involves every fiber of your intellect into outsmarting and out maneuvering your opponent, it requires one to think before making actions and sometimes know exactly what to do to get yourself out of tight situations. There is also a lot of luck involved. As well as advanced planning. Before playing yugioh you are required to preconstruct your own deck to duel with, there are countless cards to choose from and several different types and themes of decks to take into consideration as you either make your own or prepare to duel another.
a dueling deck consist of 3 parts. A main deck. Which is what you will be using the entire duel, and a side and extra deck, which are entirely optional and the importance of these consist entirely of what your main deck is. There is an immense amount of things to consider when constructing a deck, but all can be summed up with the term “consistency”.
Consistency is a decks balance, it is what determines how effective or lacking there of a deck is at winning duels. Making a deck alone requires a lot of thought and planning, some cards can pretty much be used anywhere but a lot of the time you need to really think about how effective a card actually is, and if you really need to have a card in your deck. The reason this is a big deal is because a deck can only consist of 40 to 60 cards not including the side and extra deck. This means that the more cards you have in the deck the less like you are to draw the one you need when you need it. And every move counts so if your spend the entire time drawing useless cards it won’t be pretty on you. There is also a benefit to playing yugioh. And that is making friends, yugioh is a very social and competitive game. And as such you are bound to meet people whom under normal circumstances you would never
