Forms of Hybrid Cars
Question:
Discuss about the Chauffeur Of Next Generation Hybrid Cars.
Hybrids had been invented for the purpose of addressing the concern related to fossil fuel consumption and environmental pollution. A few automobile organizations believe Hybrid cars as the future of the car industry (Samveg, Phadke and Gopal pp. 1127-1133). However these cars have been subjected to various other types of cars which promise greater mileage and claim to be the automotive industry’s future. The primary question which a consumer comes across in the given situation is that whether they should purchase a hybrid car and what expectations they can have upon purchase. There a various form of Hybrid cars which are available to the consumers. These include Hydraulic, electric gas, hydrogen and fully electric cars. Every form of Hybrid car has its own pros and cons however the electric gas hybrid cars are the most common in the market. There are three primary reasons why a consumer thinks about purchasing a Hybrid car. These include reducing the dependency on fossil fuels, saving money and reducing pollution. In order to get adequate return it may take 4-5 years in relation to such cars in the light of the extra money paid while purchasing them (Ronen et al pp. 1651-1666).
After reading this report the consumers will have a clear idea in relation to the question that whether they should purchase a hybrid car or not. They would be able to know the advantages and disadvantages of the vehicles and thus they can a choice based of feasibility.
Hybrid cars have a special form of Braking System known as regenerative braking. Show the use of this breaking process the energy which is lost at the time of baking due being converted into heat energy is used for the purpose of recharging the batteries. Through the use of this technology the gas mileage in hybrid cars is enhanced. Rather than the use of traditional friction braking system the electric motor in hybrid cars is simply turned into reverse so that the car is slowed down and eventually brought to a halt. When the motor is turned into a reverse direction the batteries of the car are charged through the use of a generator. However there are certain demerits which are associated with this form of Braking System (Sharon and Jarvis 304-319). When the vehicle is at high speed the reverse direction of the electric motor is not adequately capable of stopping the car. Therefore these cars are integrated with the traditional braking system in addition to regenerative braking in case of emergency. This braking system is one of the primary reasons by which hybrid cars are able to generate more mileage in cities as compared to other cars. As cities have a feature of stop and go traffic the cars do not required the traditional friction Braking System (Ghosh and Chitra pp. 80).
Another important reason because of which hybrid cars are able to generate great mileage is the use of lightweight materials. As defined by (Terence and Maoh pp. 59-67 ) force is the amount of weight of an object multiplied by the velocity of the object. Therefore there are two possibilities in order to bring down the amount of force required for the purpose of getting the vehicle into motion. These are decreasing the acceleration or reducing the weight of the vehicle. In situation where high acceleration may be required the reduction of material weight of the car is an appropriate solution. When the weight of the car is reduced by the use of lightweight materials the car can run through the use of small engines resulting in less fuel consumption or less power usage. Therefore where lightweight materials are used for the purpose of building hybrid cars they enhance the fuel economy of the vehicle.
Braking System
The concept has also been used for the purpose of addressing issues in various other fields such as designing of aircraft and space shuttles. The materials which are used in such machines are of high cost however in order to make hybrid cars feasible to the regular consumer they use low cost and low weight material in the scars. The development of low cost lightweight materials has enhanced the feasibility of hybrid cars (Grzegorz, Trépanier and Morency pp. 161-169).
Another feature which adds on to the advantages provided by Hybrid Car is that of an Aerodynamic design. The drag is in control of the aerodynamics of the car. Just like friction drag also acts against the body’s movement. There are multiple variables which govern the equation of drag including the cross sectional area of the vehicle, the thickness of the air, the speed of the vehicle along with the coefficient of drag. Decreasing any of such variables will also lead to the decrease of drag. For this purpose the hybrid cars are provided with a unique shape which have the objective of reducing cross sectional area along with the coefficient of drag. Efficient work has been done in relation to these designs and they can be called as being close to perfect even after maintaining a pleasing shape. There is a vast difference between those cars which have been designed by taking into consideration this idea as compared to those who have not (Kazem, et al 33-41). The drag area of the Toyota Prius is only one fourth of that of the Hummer with respect to the air at similar speed. The significant difference between the gas mileages of these two vehicles is illustrated through this situation.
These tires are used in Hybrid Car for the purpose of decreasing the friction which the car has with the ground show the use of a different thread design and materials. Although these differences are not vast their effects have forced the designers to take them into consideration. Small contribution is made by the use of these tires in relation to the fuel economy of the car. However the feasibility of search tires has been in question. There have been rumours that these tires and not capable of providing the same performance as other tires and are also not durable (Chris and Masrur pp. 33-35). However these criticisms are solely based on rumours and outdated information. According to cars (Grzegorz, Trépanier and Morency pp. 161-169) these tires not only provide a better fuel economy but also enhanced breaking system for the car. For the development has been done in relation to these tires for the purpose of enhancing handling and stopping power of the car. The tires come with warranties and have been scene to last on an average of 90000 miles. New technological advancement in these tires have added great advantage to hybrid cars.
A person who owns a Hybrid Car is usually associated with concepts like environmental sustainability and responsibility. These persons are assume to have the ability of making thoughtful decisions, driving defensively and not being subjected to erratic behaviour. It also shows that the people has the intention of providing protection to the environment and also have additional money to invest a bit extra towards the purchase of a Hybrid Car. In reality hybrid cars are not only a great way of ensuring Environment protection but also help its owners to save large amount of money. When a person purchases a hybrid cars he or she is provided with an Auto Insurance discount. The discount is given because of the perception that these people are more responsible to the environment and there are less chances that they would get involved in an accident because of their behavior. Even where there are doubts that due to the attempt of enhancing fuel economy there can be a compromise with the handling and safety features of the car the insurance company are willing to give discount as the car owners are assumed to be more responsible (Abid, and Shahid pp. 9-12).
Lightweight Materials
Although most of the reaction in relation to hybrid cars has been positive they have also been some negative response towards the vehicles. The concept of simplicity and reparability are affected negatively by the complex nature with the hybrid system brings. Most of the mechanic who lack training in relation to hybrid cars does not have the capability to handle its repairs. For instance was the Toyota Prius is similar to other vehicles in terms of mechanism a small error can lead to significant damages to the car if the car is not handled in a proficient manner. It has to be considered that the primary purpose of a Hybrid Car management is to produce less pollution by enhancing the fuel economy of the car. In relation to this objective air condition system of hybrid cars such as the Toyota pirates uses an electric compressor which needs a special oil (Hastings, Ahearn, and McInni pp.123) The regular mechanics may not have sufficient knowledge in relation to the use of such special oil and it may lead to significant damages to the car. According to a study conducted by (Kazem, et al 33-41) 61% of the people believe that they would not purchase a Hybrid Car because of the money involved in getting and prepared. However most of such car companies provide special offers on maintenance of these cars search has increased warranty and discount. Another disadvantage with and Hybrid Car may have is that it is not as efficient as compared to other cars in the same category (Amir . et al 184-192). This is because hybrid cars are not able to produce the speed and acceleration which can be produced by any other V8 or V12 engine car. However with the enhancement in technology in relation to hybrid cars this issue is also being addressed rapidly and these guys are becoming more and more competitive to the other traditional cars (Philippe, et al pp. 187-194).
An interview has been taken by me from an existing Hybrid Car user in relation to the feasibility and efficiency of the car. The user has purchase the car 3 years ago which is a Toyota Prius. The consumer told that she likes the car very much. She has also provided that the fuel efficiency of the car is great and she only has two pay 40 Canadian dollars for 9 days where she had to spend around 80 to 90 Canadian dollars everybody with respect to work additional Subaru Wagon owned by her. She also stated that she feels good that she is able to contribute to the protection of the environment as environment pollution has become a major issue. She is proud of the fact that she is able to avoid pollution.
Thus from the features and interview taken from the consumer of a hybrid car it can be stated that these cars are going to be the future of automobile industry. They are not only able to provide greater fuel economy and generate very less pollution but are also able to compete with traditional cars based on features like handling, speed and safety. Although these cars cost a bit more than traditional cars in the same segment the consumers can really benefit from the low fuel cost associated with the car in the long run. The car also provides a unique status to the owner as being responsible towards the environment and the society.
- Therefore it is recommended to consumers that they should purchase hybrid cars and add on to environment protection as well as experience management enhanced fuel efficiency. They will also get a unique statue with the purchase of the Cars.
- With the enhancement in technology in relation to hybrid cars this issue is also being addressed rapidly and these guys are becoming more and more competitive to the other traditional cars thus buying them is a good option
- Consumers can easily verify data in relation to these tires before making a decision whether to purchase a Hybrid Car or not. Most of the data suggest that these tires are as good as other conventional tires if not better thus tires are not an issue while purchasing the car.
- The materials which have been developed comprise of carbon fibres, aluminium alloys and plastic. These materials help the hybrid cars to maintain a lightweight as well as comply with other regulatory standards call ensuring safety.
