Question:
Discuss about the Ability to Direct Individual Accomplishments.
As I am an engineering student I have done the Bachelor of Civil Engineering and I came to Australia to pursue further studies, as I was doing Master in civil engineering but the reason which get me into the MBPM is the content and the knowledge which they were giving me were as the same as bachelor of civil Eng. So, I decided to quit the engineering and to do MBPM. As my goal is to be successful in life and as per the present case after five years I can see myself as a supervisor or a manager in Coles supermarket. It is because I am working in Coles for 2 years and I love my work and as I enjoy it and just now I am just the team member (Fresh produce department) in Coles supermarket but as further I believe that if I keep on doing good and fast work then definitely I will be the manager. And, in my field the place where I have been working they have introduced aColes graduated program and If Isucceed in this than I can become the duty manager or the store support manager. And the requirement for this program is Master’s in management and good thing is I am pursuing Master in business and project management which will be finishing soon and I can apply for this program. By these I can achieve my goal.

The political drifts, which have been influencing and are possible to influence the retail industries in the future as well are the government regulations and their policies while the economic challenges that it is facing are Urbanization, recessions, globalization and shifting in the economic power. The cornrstone of the international development and growth is rapidly shifting to Asia (Hawthorne, 2016). Apparently, the demographic changes are increase in the flow of migration, rapidly aging population and diversity in the national and cultural background that are attenuation the entire workforce as one share of total population. In turn, this will be making the governments to fall beneath large pressure for lifting up the taxes in order to maintain the social programs in future. The changes in the longevity might influence the business model of Coles, the pension costs and the talent goals. Apparently, the social trends are the consistent variation in consumer preferences. Furthermore, there are strong competitions for talents in today’s employees. Several environmental challenges that are being faced by the retail industry in modern days include the shortage of natural resources and climate change that are affecting the industry as well as the labour market. It is noticed in some retail sectors because of extreme weather conditions, the working condition is being deteriorating. These have posed grave defies for this particular sector (Hatfield-Dodds, 2015). Therefore, the leaders must embed sustainable cultures. On the other side, the technological convergence shall generate a large array of new product markets, which could make the rest of the existing market obsolete.
Mega Trends in Retailing Industry
following a specific goal till it is achieved cannot an easy task. It needs unparalleled dedication as well as meticulous planning from a person to achieve. Five of my professional goals are:
- scheming a career round my own desire,
- get promotions,
- culturing newer skills,
- making myself as an improved networker
- Reducing my work hours without compromising my productivity.
I have set a short-term, a mid-term and a long-term goal for my future. Speaking of my short-term work goal- is to acquire the position of a duty manager or a store support manager. Being a primary part of a company, I would like to add value as well as continue to take the company even further. My mid-term work goal is developing myself into a senior post and to confirm a long-term relationship with my partner. Lastly, my long term goal includes reaching to the position of a supervisor or a manager in the Coles Supermarket. I desire to get retired from a position in which I shall be extremely admired and reputed among every well-known business tycoons of the town.
Ethics and professional values are vital parts of professional and personal life. It makes a person more focused in his workplace. I try to give my best in every work which I do. I supply the services to my employer just like the way I would have expected my employers to supply if I would have owned my own business. It is performed by being honest and determined towards my job role as well as through maintaining a positive attitude so that I could easily cope up with the day to day matters of my work place.
Ethics and morality are considered to be the core of leadership. This is a range of certain moral values, by which a person or a group is governed. It is to be mentioned that ethics are considered as the foundation of a well-developed leader by most of the scholars (Ciulla, 2014). It investigates the impact of decision-making that plays a great part in the growth of a company (Kaucher, 2013).
Through leading compliance training programs,
- By writing and defining a code of conduct
- By following the role models
I believe that an individual with strong ethical business practice is bound to be truthful as well as trustworthy. He has a stature of being fair in each of his work. He is considered to be moral in his personal as well as professional life. He has higher potential to reach the locus of the senior management, especially in the settings where one can face high performance pressure. The term Ethics however, is associated with the character as well as moral rule of a man that sets the limit for one’s conduct. The main focus of ethics is investigating all questions related to obligations along with duties; justice and injustice, the right and wrongs.

1. Decision making skills |
Tendency of rushing the processes |
No matter of to what extent a person is stressed, he or she must look for every situation in a rational way. Furthermore, they must shelve their ego and emotions as well as always take the advice of an expert before making any decision. |
2. Verbal communication skills |
High use of electronic communicating devices rather than communicating face to face with the colleagues |
In place of communicating with others through e-mail or messages or by using any other electronic devices, one must try to communicate face to face with the other party. Also, maintaining a habit of making eye contact, avoiding harsh tones would be very effective. With the same, one must also practice open and relaxed attitude and body language while communicating |
3. Interpersonal skills |
Refuse to collaborate or network |
Speaking and sharing of the possessed achievements and skills with the other people will help in developing interpersonal skills within an individual. |
Strength and Weakness Analysis
Strength |
1. I am capable of handling tough situations and pressures 2. I am patient and calm 3. Friendly in nature. I can get gel up with people very easily. |
Weakness |
1. There is a Lack of self-confidence within me 2. I was a bad public speaker 3. I used to get nervousness while confronting to others. |
Neither I am best at one particular thing nor I become skilled at something very well. However, as far as I consider, I have the ability to get gel up with others very easily and that too very easily. Furthermore, I am very calm and can handle any type of work load very effectively without feeling pressurized. However, as far as my weaknesses are concerned, like any other individual; I too have my own weaknesses. At first, I was a bad public speaker and I used to get nervous quickly but with each passing days, I have accepted this as a challenge and I have tried and struggled a way more to overcome this deficiency of mine. Now feel the things have changed a lot. Yes, certainly, there are some other faults too that I have within myself but I am assured about the fact that none of them can influence my professional career in any way.
