Timeline
Discuss about the Developing Critically Reflective Practice.
In order to complete and prepare a plan for major work item, personal capabilities of self-need to be developed (Larrivee, 2008). The scope of the following analysis includes personal capability assessment of self in order to understand if skills and knowledge exists pertaining to article review. An article has been taken for reviewing, upon analysis of which personal skills and knowledge could be understood in a better manner. Retail industry has been taken into consideration for the purpose of this review as it is a dynamically changing industry. There are several changes taking place every day at several retail organizations. I have noticed that today there are several offers that are being offered today across Coles, Woolworths and several other organizations (Grugulis & Bozkurt, 2011). They are trying to drive sales for stock clearance hence offering wide range of discount from 30% and above. Retail organizations across Australia adopt various innovative endeavors in order that they are able to attract sizable number of customers and extend their competitive capabilities within the market. In such a framework, there are varied innovative attributes that are currently being adopted by retail organizations in order to establish their brand name and enhance brand loyalty in the market. Therefore, as every company is undertaking such immense types of innovative efforts it often becomes difficult to understand the type of innovation that is being adopted by a company. Detailed analysis and research has to be conducted in order to arrive at an understanding related to the same. It requires immense research and analytical skills for deriving such concussions related to innovative frameworks (Miles, 2008). For the purpose of these report key aspects that would be taken into consideration includes considering factors that drives sales for retail organizations. A timeline to achieve critical milestone for analysis to arrive at detailed findings related to the same.
In order to achieve goals and objectives for the project, an appropriate time frame has to be decided upon. Deciding upon an appropriate time frame would allow designing suitability of the study to achieve outcomes. Key milestones to achieve the project are to ascertain the various parameters that can lead to driving sales for the organization. In order to attain critical milestones, parameters that have been decided upon are arriving or concluding upon organizations on which such calculations need to be conducted. Ascertaining various past activities that have been included by such deciding on organization, arriving at suitable parameters can help arrive at suitable outcomes.

Personal Capability Assessment
Analysis of personal capabilities related to specific tasks will help understanding areas in which a person lags in and areas in which one is effective (Zubizarreta, 2009). Performing a comprehensive SWOT (Strength, weakness, opportunity and threat) analysis helps reveals understanding regard to me. While strengths can be used to deal with threats, weaknesses need to be converted into opportunities by continuous learning endeavors. My personal strengths include hard working skills, honesty, and ability to undertake tasks and complete them on time and so on. In any situation that I face, I will make use of my strengths and then convert them into such that they can be used to deal with threats. I have commitment giving capabilities and once I commit I am able to deliver them on time. A personal examination while analysing skills and knowledge related to organization reveals there are various weaknesses such as;
- Inability to identify organization’s current happenings
- Unable to understand in-depth opportunities existing with innovation with current organizations
- Not being able to comprehend current industry’s whereabouts in relation to industry existing standards.
In order to deal with these weaknesses and overcoming them a development plan has to be prepared (Thompson & Pascal, 2012). I will try and work on my weaknesses such that I can get opportunities from them. Therefore weakness will provide opportunities for me in the future. Weaknesses have to be addressed such that I am able to overcome them adequately prior to completion of the course. In order to overcome these weaknesses, I will be developing a personal plan such as learning by means of self-help books, journals and other books and case studies from the library. I will also take assistance from my professor to provide me guidance such that I am able to effectively overcome these weaknesses of mine. By improving my analytical skills or understand ways to conduct study on practical companies, I will easily be able to overcome my weaknesses and also extend skills relevant to research procedures.
Journals, articles and books provide necessary concepts and background on the basis of which a study is developed. In order to progress on assessment two, there needs to be some articles or relevant literary framework that needs to be accommodated. Two peer reviewed articles that has b en adopted for the purpose of this study are by Jafri (2010) Organizational commitment and employee’s innovative behavior: A study in retail sector (Jafri, 2010). Another article includes Damanpour, Walker and Avellaneda (2009) Combinative effects of innovation types and organizational performance: A longitudinal study of service organizations (Damanpour, Walker & Avellaneda, 2009). These two articles provide relevant frameworks and innovations that are currently taking places across retail organizations in Australia. The articles encompass a number of theories on innovation such as product and processes innovations as well.
Article Identification and Review
The theories that have been discussed in this current article can be used in assignment 3 conceptual analysis as well. Theories such as entrepreneurial innovation theories and innovation leadership theories will form basis for further work in further assignments.
In assignment 3, these theories once applied will provide relevant frameworks for arriving at conclusive decisions (Kantabutra & Vimolratana, 2010). First of all entrepreneurial innovative procedure within an organization allows developing a spirit of freedom where all stakeholders takes part towards process or product related innovations. Adopting an entrepreneurial innovative framework allows developing an organizational culture that is conducive towards innovation.
Another theory related to innovative leadership assumes that a corporate leader, who is responsible for conducting innovation, is essential.
In report framework for assignment 3 there needs to be taken detailed analysis plan. A research framework is developed using introducing the aspects for the research, deciding on its research aims and objectives, proposing a conceptual framework on basis of which the project will progress (Kantabutra & Vimolratana, 2010). Then there will be research methods that will be defined for the study. In the end a findings and analysis chapter will be developed to connect all relevant theories with data that has been collected, and then only a proposed recommendation plan can be provided.
Conclusion
Understanding relevant shortage of skills and knowledge reveals various shortcomings that need to be addressed. The project has provided knowledge transfer and development of several skills as well. Through several knowledge and skill development, learning value had been increased immensely. The major learning that has been taken by undertaking this project pertains to organization identification capabilities, analysing skill development pertaining to understanding ways in which innovation takes place within an organization. Thirdly, there has been my skill growth pertaining to competency to incur practical skills. Earlier I had taken analysis pertaining to theoretical case study. For this first time, I had been able to identify an article and then undertake analysis related to innovation for the same. I had also been able to gain self-reflection and self-development tools, which earlier were not possible, as I did not understand regarding the same. Now I am able to analyse my personal self and prepare a journal to maintain developments that I have undertaken and then devise a future development plan as well.
There have been indicated several outcomes that have occurred from the project, primary one being in relation to analytical skills. I have benefited immensely from development of analytical skills of mine as I feel it will be of immense benefits in my future. Learning outcomes from other aspects includes benefits arising mainly from self-reflection and analysis skills. I was able to critically analyse regarding my personal self and then gain skills and knowledge for more skill advancements.
