Effectiveness of Time Management
Coral Reefs constitute over many of the countries based on a number of countries that would include the developing and the underdeveloped countries. However, it has been seen that many of the coral reefs of the world face emerging threats from several kinds of human activities.
As a project leader, I would propose the following changes that could be implemented for the saving of coral reefs from extinction are:
- Building a resilience for coral reefs based on climate changes
- Enhancing the flow of data and information based on changes in ecosystem (Graham et al.2015)
- Strengthening the use of ecosystem of coral reefs
Based on the current state, I can state that the government is focusing on various kind of innovative measures for the protection of the coral reefs. However, these reefs are highly endangered and would thus need a higher form of protective measures. The recent form of bleaching on a global basis is a distressing point of view for the environment. Hence, I can state that these forms of proposed changes would be highly beneficial for the sustaining of the coral reefs and enhance their growth.
These forms of needs within the changes in the sustainability of coral reefs would be beneficial for the growth of coral reefs. The benefits of the proposed changes would be that it would lead to the restoration and conservation of the marine biodiversity. It would also help in discussing various forms recommendations for the benefits of the sector of marine-based biodiversity. This would be highly useful as they would be able to increase the level of changes within the sector and would also be able to help in the growth of these kinds of reefs. This would also help in a major rise of the marine ecosystem and attracting tourism (Palumbi et al. 2014).
As the leader of the project based on the sustainability of coral reefs, it could be suggested that the effective use of management of time would be very much useful for a project leader. It would help in saving a lot of resources for the organization. With the proper form of management of time, it would be extremely vital for the project leader for scheduling the tasks in a proper order (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). The ways in which I am able to manage and utilize time in the development of the project are:
- Preparing a To-Do List– Preparing a list of tasks to be done is the most important tasks of a project leader for meeting the priority of the tasks.
- Weekly Review– This kind of review over the systems of the project would be helpful for managing the time. The weekly review would be helpful for viewing the performed actions within a task. Within the prospect of the weekly review, the project leader should be able to update the To-Do tasks.
- Blocking of Time– This is defined as one of the important processes within the process of effective management of time. Once the To-Do tasks are understood and the weekly review has been made, there should be some form of blocking of time, which would be necessary for dedicating some amount of time for performing some kinds of tasks (Hornstein 2015).
Based on the following of the above steps, it would be extremely helpful for me to manage the amount of time, which should be given for the management and scheduling of tasks.
As a project leader, I am able to understand the importance of communication skills for the development of a certain project. A high form of use of communication skills would be very much effective for the proper form of diversity within the project. As I am the leader of the project, hence I have to maintain a high form of communication skills in order to develop a better form of interactions with my team members and thus be able to progress in my field of work. I should be a good listener so as to understand the queries of my team members and thus promptly respond to each of the activities of the people (Hackman and Johnson 2013). The use of communication skills would majorly be helpful for discussing various forms of changes with the members concerned with the project. The impact of oral skills would also be able to explain intrinsic details with the team members and they would be able to impact the major form of changes within the concerned project.
Use of Communication Skills
The use of a non-verbal mode of communication also plays a major role in the success of the project. Non-verbal mode of communication is very much essential for the purpose of the project. A friendly tone is very much useful for providing encouragement to the team of the project and helping in an effective process of communication. Trust and respect for every member within the team would be helpful in engaging with an open form of the collaborative process of communication. Based on the kinds of respect that are being provided to each of the team members, it would be useful for gaining motivations for work for the project. It has been seen that people who are of a much-communicating nature would be able to convey many forms of respect and are able to share many ideas (Keil, Lee and Deng 2013).
The use of a high form of leadership skills would be very much helpful for the development of the project. With the help of high forms of skills within the project, it would be extremely useful for the project leaders for seeking different kinds of challenges. The use of a high form of leadership skills would be able to resist deviations based on the current process (Nissen, Evald and Clarke 2014).
Leaders would be able to create a form of vision for the development of the project. Based on this, the strategic goals of the project would be determined. Project managers would be much more focused on designing the vision of the project. The leaders of the project have a much more focus on the achievement of the short-term and mid-term form of deliverables. The project leaders are also responsible for motivating and inspiring the team members. The team leaders would be able to focus on the process of implementation of the various processes within the project.
With the use of a high form of leadership and collaboration skills, the project leaders would be able to have a wide form of influence of the team. As the leader of the project, I would be able to gain a stronghold over my team and allow them for performing the required tasks in an efficient manner (Chin 2015).
As I am the project leader of my team, hence I should be committed towards the welfare of the members of my team and the project, which is under my control. The use of commitment is of extreme importance for the team. The impact of commitment towards the team would be developed for the creation of successful projects. Commitment towards the development of professional skills within the project would be helpful for searching for various kinds of improvements, meeting the challenges of expectation of the clients, encouraging the team members for taking risks within the projects and creation of an open environment (Wagner 2016).
Use of Cooperation/Collaboration and Leadership Skills
The six vital areas where the leaders of various kinds of projects would be exercising their commitment skills are – Values of the organization, higher and organization management, project sponsors and clients, goals of the project and the undertaken tasks, the team of the project and the members. These goals should be fulfilled for the development of a successful project. Ensuring a high level of communication towards the project would be helpful for the development of the project. Commitment towards a particular work of the project is an important criterion for the development of the project as it involves the dedication of the team members. Hence is each of the team members is fully committed towards the development of the works within the project, then it would lead toward the high form of development of a successful project (Brodie 2013).
The use of engineering ethics is a field within the field of engineering would be mainly available for the context of the development of successful projects. As the members of the profession are involved for the development of higher kinds of standards within the work hence they are expected to follow the basic code of ethics, which includes integrity and honesty within the aspects of work. The prospects of the ethical use within engineering would be able to leave a vital form of effect on the quality of lives of the people. The services provided by the members of the team should be entirely dedicated to the protection of safety, public health and the welfare of the people (Von Schomberg 2013).
One of the important aspects of engineering ethics is the requirement of meeting within the deadlines of the particular project. Meeting the deadlines of the project is a vital concern of ethics in relation to the development of a particular project. The meeting of the deadlines for the project leaders is an important form of ethical concern for the development of the project. Meeting with the deadlines of the project helps in the satisfaction of the clients. This would ensure that the clients would be fully satisfied with the deliverables and would increase trust within the organization (Rodríguez, Fisher and Schuurbiers 2013).
One of the examples of engineering ethics is based on the ethical concerns that would be in relation to the protection of the coral reefs based project. The different team members should be entirely dedicated to developing a good form of a strategic plan for the benefits of the project. This would help in developing innovative ideas that would in relation with the ethics based on the engineering-based ethics.
