Discuss about the Leadership Traits In The Dell Company.
My job role in Dell, one of the leading technology companies in the current scenario is of a junior analyst. Various other concepts namely diversity and organizational fit would be analyzed in this assessment for enhancing the interconnection and interrelation of the characteristics and traits of the individual in context to the organization. The assignment aims to evaluate my personal strengths and its application in the context of the company I am serving. This would include my own reflection as well as the judgments and feedbacks of others and the results of the self-assessment tools. This assessment would help me in developing a fair knowledge regarding the targeted areas that require improvement in my traits and things that would result in making me a better professional in the near future. The report focuses on the rising business market of Dell which is one of the leading technology organizations around the globe. It is one of the largest technology organizations which are currently running their business on a global basis. Dell possesses a very strong global network and it is the second largest organization that provides significant IT support to wide range of customers. The company follows network traditional structure for running their business in an organized manner (Grant, 2016). The structure of the organization followed by Dell is closely related to the firm influence on intensifying the productivity of the organization which is essential for acquiring long-term success for the business. The chairman of the organization holds the topmost position in the organization; he holds the responsibility of giving required assistance to all the major departments of the organization. The vice chairman holds the second position in the company and is being supported by other company presidents. Furthermore, it is important to note that the vice president is responsible for dealing with all kinds of financial transaction and marketing techniques together with the activities related to human resource management. The higher authorities of the company hold equal responsibilities for monitoring the performance of each and every department. The central position is acquired by the vice president who is responsible for the control of various activities of Dell. Furthermore, it is the authority of the vice president to monitor the functionality of each and every department of the Dell.
Methodology
The departments of the company are divided into three major levels. These include technical level, administrative level, and the institutional level. The technical departments are mainly responsible for the production of tabs and PCs. Furthermore, all the developmental facility and research within the organization is conducted at the technical level. Dell initiates innovation and thereby raises the sale statistics that form the major and key components for running the entire business platform in a profitable system. The administrative level of the company deals with the internal functions within the company. Furthermore, they deal with the core activities within the organization that is generally organized by various departments of Dell.
The institutional platform of the company plays a very important role in the context of organizational structure and benefits. The level acts as the bridge between the internal and the external environment of the company environment. One of the major activities of this platform is an organization of effective and healthy communication with the clients to understand and explore their requirements and interests. The assistance and support of all these structures of the organization have thus enabled Dell in becoming successful in the tough competitive market scenario.
For gaining a fair knowledge about my personal strength, personality and other emotional and psychological strengths, I have used two self-assessment tools in this assessment. These are The Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test (Appendix 1) and The Global EI Test (Appendix 2). The assessment has been constructed in a systematic and constructive manner for developing the assignment. The data used while developing the assessment were company websites, personal understanding, knowledge, governmental data and self-assessment tools for supporting and analyzing my claims. The personality test was used to analyze the level of introversion, extraversion, the level of intuitiveness and judging capacity within me. The primary tool was utilized for the establishment of the main key factors and the extent of irrational and rational in me while the later one helped to analyze the level of motivation, social skills, and self-regulation that is present within me for the improvement of my personal traits and to utilize it in my personal and professional sphere. Furthermore, some of the data has also been gathered from my friends and acquaintances.

My key strength is that I apply my intuition rather than my sense in case of the completion of an action or before making any essential or important decision regarding the operation of the organization. This enables in greater advantage for me for identifying my true sense of mission and purpose. Furthermore my intuition helps me to open up new and innovative ideas and allow me to identify the voice of caution. Also, I can utilize my basic reasoning resources to apply in any basic circumstances throughout everyday life or inside the peripheries of my association that would require exhaustive arranging, investigation, and reflection. I can utilize this workforce for a self-trained restorative reasoning that would likewise involve viable correspondence and critical thinking capacities inside me along these lines empowering me to beat pivotal issues throughout my life inconvenient to my prosperity (Appendix 3).
SWOT analysis
Furthermore, the systematic thinking will also pave the way for the generation of innovative ideas and new strategies by successfully eliminating blunders and anticipations as much as possible. The capability of judging things in me can be efficient and beneficial for the fit of me in a better position in the organization (Abugre, 2016). A careful judging attitude regarding the environment that is surrounded would be beneficial for the transformation of thoughts into actions since the members of the organization tends to present new thoughts and innovative ideas in every minute or two. This is furthermore required for the linear progression of the company for the achievement of success.
Another of the major strength in me is my introvert attitude (Appendix 1). This is very much advantageous since it will not stop me from the formulation of top quality plans or understand any kind of situation that I may assist or consider important. I believe this is one of the best qualities of strength I have which will forward me towards the growth. This quality of mine can further stop me from participating in any meetings or gatherings which are vague and not useful. The quality in me ensures that I stay away from fraud and useless people and indulge myself in my commitments seriously.
Though there is a lot much strength in me that I anticipated and found out, the presence of my introvert quality can stop me from the formation of some of the best plans which require presentation or voicing of my personal opinions in the team meetings. This can possibly be a hindrance and a factor of hindrance towards the pathway of my growth. This characteristics and quality furthermore can also prevent me from sharing and expressing any of my innovative ideas which can be beneficial for me and my job role in the organization. The nature can be one of the biggest weaknesses of mine since it tends to prevent me from engaging in any corporate social activities which are required in my job role (Appendix 2).
The Global EI Test has put me in the 3 scale of the scorecard in the field of self-awareness and hence I believe that I need to improve that area and undergo thorough consideration over my self-awareness traits. This is because self-awareness would enable me for communicating with my colleagues and other higher authorities in my organization with professional attire and relevant understanding with successful expression of my thoughts and ideas
Strengths
I got the rating of 4 in the field of self-management and hence it is definitely one of the weakest points of mine in the pathway of my evolution and growth. I believe it is a powerful weapon for the understanding of my lagging position in the backdrop of engagement of the organization I am serving. This personality trait has the chances of holding me back in the field I am serving due to the lack of my systematic management skills that result in a productive attitude and enthusiastic nature in the workplace.
The relationship management skills are one of my key opportunities or chances that have been assessed by the self-assessment tool. I got a moderate rating of 5 in The Global EI Test. This particular skill will enable me to construct a strong awareness of the needs of the customer, skills related to marketing and furthermore enhance my traits for bonding with my coworkers which would help me in accelerating towards my targets and goals. The need to develop business partners and clients is one of the major necessities of the organization and the role I am serving. Since I scored high on my social awareness skills, 6 according to the self-assessment tool, this would help me in better evaluation of individuals resulting in positioning myself in a better and favorable position than others.
Some of the threat and obstacles that I face in the organization I serve are the issues of being firmly integrated among the team and irrelevant team interactions that result in the delay of many important activities and process of decision making.
I score considerably low in the field of self-management skills. I scored 4 in The Global EI Test. This can actually hamper my action towards completing any project within the given deadline and making decisions regarding the estimated resources for the execution of a task with proper co-ordination with the team members (Appendix 2).
My current job role is quite demanding and hence my lack of self-awareness skill as concluded by the self-assessment test can prevent me from evaluating and developing new skill according to the requirements of the organization I am serving. One of the major threats of my job profile is the global economic crisis. It is an alarming issue when the global customer orders fall below 24% within the organization (Tims, Derks & Bakker, 2016).
Dell can surely benefit from its diverse workforce by the assurance of the exposition and personal growth of its employees in a new cultural environment that will help them to ascertain a vivid knowledge regarding their position in the serving organization. In the context of management, having relevant knowledge on diversity will develop an understanding of me regarding the value and the effective usage of diversity within the organization. The concept of diversity deals with the multitudes of race, culture, nationality, ethnicity, religion, cultural symbols and practices that are existent to my serving organization. One of the major strength of the organization is emphasizing the diversity (Stahl & Tung, 2015). This is because diversity generates for the formation and integration of various types and categories of perspectives, voices, and opinions that holds immense values to the organization.
Furthermore, policy formulation, diversity practices for preserving the nature of diversity are essential for maintaining the positive productivity of the organization (Frese, Hass & Friedrich, 2016). Thus in the platform of management, having knowledge and understanding of the theories of diversity will help me to identify the core and major issues or problems and the ways to address them in the best manner.
In the near future, on the basis of the SWOT analysis, I can see myself as the employee of the organization, Dell. This is because I believe the structure of the organization will provide me with ample opportunities and atmosphere for improving my decision-making abilities, my communication skills and furthermore give me the opportunity to express and showcase my innovative ideas. Furthermore Dell also organizes campaigns and program for recognizing talents and quality of work in the employees, which will give me the chance to prove myself. Hence, I deem myself fit for the organization for the establishment of a harmonious relationship that will furthermore result in mutual benefits.
Conclusion
From the above study, it can be concluded that I have successfully attained a comprehensible review regarding my strengths, flaws and other traits of my character. These include lack or absence of self-management skills, self-awareness attitude that I really need to develop and improve the consideration of my personal growth and development. The analysis done regarding my personal strengths and weakness would further help me for progress in my life and acquire clear and relevant ideas or knowledge of the things that I can pursue or achieve with my skills or potential. Furthermore, as per the judgments and feedbacks of my acquaintances I require working on my communication skills and my introvert attitude for fitting in a better position in the organization.
