Link between Business Leadership and Communication Power

Discuss About The Organizational Effectiveness In Leadership?
Leadership is the ability of organization’s management to set and achieve challenging business goals, take decisive actions, outperform competition and inspire employees to perform well (Willems 2016). In this reflective paper, I will link the business leadership with my own field of practice. This paper will also demonstrate the area of business leadership, which have most resonated with me. Apart from that, I will also explain my perception on the studied concepts while applying the concepts to my professional as well as personal life. Furthermore, I will also highlight the steps that will be involved in applying the coursework into workplace. The study will also demonstrate my views on the ethical and cultural issues of global business. Lastly, I will explain the key skills that I have improved through the experience from the module.
Business leadership is the activity of leading people in an organization and effectively directing them towards the success of the organization (Hussein and Hassan 2016). I have identified that there is a great link between business leadership and communication power. However, while considering my field of practice, I was quite uneasy to communicate with the people. Such ability of proper communication can hinder my ability to become a success business leader. On the other hand, a great connect can also be identified between the business leadership and persistence. While considering my field of practice, I am very hard working and persistent at my work. I can work persistently to achieve the ultimate goals of organization. A business leader must have to be hard working and persistent at his work, which will also help him to inspire others in achieving organizational goals (Paustian-Underdahl, Walker and Woehr 2014). Therefore, there is a proper link between business leadership and hardworking capacities with persistency.
Effectiveness of business leadership lies on the ability of business leaders to adapt in changing business scenario. Efficient situational leaders must always be able to adapt change as per business requirements, which can lead to business success (Wang, Waldman and Zhang 2014). However, in this extent, there is lack of proper link between business leadership and my field of practice. Moreover, I am somewhat stick to certain rules and regulations and personally dislike to shift from those rules and regulations. It does not link with the qualities of business leadership.
An effective business leader must be highly focused on achieving organizational goals. They should be less distracted by any means of distraction that can create hindrance on achieving the organizational goals. Highly focused business leaders are able to make best alignment between the business efforts and business goals towards achieving organizational success (Peng 2014). I always remain highly focused on my target in every aspect of my personal as well as professional life. I have developed credible selective ignorance within me. I am quite less distracted from my focus by any means of nuisance. Therefore, this area of leadership is most resonated with me and it will lead me towards being successful business leader. On the other hand, an effective business leader must be confident enough and high level of passion for achieving something (Colbert, Barrick and Bradley 2014). Such leaders always have clear vision to achieve organizational success. Hence, such leaders can properly direct others towards right direction for achieving organizational goals. I am also highly confident and passionate on achieving my desired goals. Hence, I can remain highly passionate upon achieving my goals until it is achieved. Hence, this area of leader is also resonated with me.
The Importance of Focus and Passion for Business Leaders
Previously, I used to think that if I keep working hard within the team, then the entire team would be motivated to work hard. However, this particular assumption is completely wrong and I have changed my thinking about motivating power of leadership. Moreover, I have realized that motivating the team members is actually dependent on the ability of the business leaders to communicate them.
I have studied that communication is the first and foremost skills for being a successful business leader. It is absolutely true and effective to applying in professional and personal life. From studies concept, I can say that highly communicative business leaders can better understand the strength and weakness of the employees. Therefore, this communication power can help a business leader to make improvement on the weak area for enhancing their productivity potential. This concept will help me a lot in applying in my professional as well as personal life. Moreover, I can improve my communication power after studying this concept and apply it effectively to make positive environment at my workplace. Being a highly communicative business leader, I would be able to communicate the vision and value of my organization to the employees effectively. In this way, I would better lead then towards strategic direction of meeting the strategic goals of the organization.
I have also learned that communication power helps a business leader to create positive working environment through collaborative working condition. Likewise, I can apply this communication power to better understand the issues of the employees and provide satisfactory solutions to those issues. It will lead to satisfactory employee base in the organization, which will lead to positive working environment. Apart from that, I can also apply this communication power in my personal life. Being highly communicative, I would be better able to express my opinions with my close friends and relative and in turn will also be able to understand their opinion during conversation. In this way, I can make warm and collaborative relationship with the people even in my personal life.
I have also learned that adapting changes in extremely crucial for business leader to bring organizational success. Such learning will definitely help me in getting success in my professional life. Moreover, through this learning, I would be able to get out of traditional boxes of thinking and learn new and innovative things to apply in business process for leading to business innovation. On the other hand, I can also avoid various business risks through adapting to the changes required for business success. Such learning can also help me in my personal life. Adapting changes will always help me to move on in life from any kind of bad experience in the past. In this way, it will make me strong enough to deal with life crisis.
Applying jobs in relevant areas defined in Coursework
First, I need to seek that kind of job, which has great relevance with the type of profession defined in the coursework. It will help me a lot to make right alignment between my coursework learning and my workplace experience. Moreover, the coursework has described the leading techniques of business leaders. Therefore, I need to seek for leading profession towards proper alignment between coursework and workplace. It will help me to apply the relevant learning of coursework into practical workplace in better way.
The Role of Effective Communication in Business Leadership
Aligning learning goals with workplace goals
The second thing that I need to do is proper alignment between learning goals and workplace goals. Moreover, I need to assess the learning goals first and then go for assessing the actual goals of my profession. It will help me in getting proper link between the coursework learning and actual workplace area. Therefore, I would be able to properly apply the coursework through matching goals between the coursework learning and workplace.
Implement coursework learning into workplace
The application of coursework learning would be successful only then, when I would truly apply that coursework learning at my workplace. Moreover, after assessing the actually skills and knowledge of a business leader, I need to start improvement of those area within me for becoming a successful leader at the workplace. In this way, the success of coursework learning lies of practical implementation of those learning into workplace area.
I have identified a proper link between my previous module and mu current module. My previous module was about strategic management and my current module is about leadership. After reading these two modules, I have realized that leadership has huge interconnection with strategic management. Leaders have strong communication skills, which help in bringing the employees together and directing them towards achieving organizational success. The passion of the leaders for innovation can encourage others towards fostering innovation ideas during the time of product generation (McCleskey 2014). In this way, an effective leader can lead to proper innovation leading to competitive advantage for the organization. On the other hand, I have also realized that the strategic success of an organization is largely dependent on ability of the leaders towards adapting with changes. Moreover, as per the modules, the leaders must be able to adapt with the changes in information technology for incorporating online shopping facilities in the business line. Such changes will definitely meet the changing shopping needs of the customers and leads to strategic success of the customers (Dabke 2016).
While considering ethical and cultural issues of global business, I have learned a lot from this module. Business managers are under enormous amount of stress while dealing with different types of culture and ethical norms. I have studied that business managers are more likely to face ethical issues in terms of working condition, corruptions, environmental issues and global code of ethics. From my opinion, the business managers face corruption ethical issues mostly in the developing countries. Oftentimes, the global business can abuse the power for gaining financial power in foreign country. Apart from that, the business managers can also be associated with ethical issues in terms of providing bribes to conduct business in foreign country (Ruggie 2014). On the other hand, the global business can also face ethical issue in terms of violating the ethical standards of international countries.
I have learned several cultural issues faced by the global business in foreign countries. As per my module, global businesses are more likely to face cultural issues in terms of communication, workplace etiquettes, organizational hierarchy, religion, equal opportunity and many more. It is a common problem of global business people to understand the language of foreign countries. It ultimately hampers the business communication of global business. On the other hand, the global business people often face the issue of cultural sensitivity while communication with foreign people. Apart from that, the workplace etiquettes highly differ from one country to other, which considers different working conditions, rules and regulations, workplace confrontations and many more (Dyllick and Muff 2016). Hence, global businesses face huge issues in adapting with different cultural of foreign countries.
From this module, I have realized that I need to improve on my communication skills for better interacting with the people around me at my workplace. I have experienced that better communication will lead me to increase the unity of workforce. It will actually help me in being a successful business leader by creating positive business environment. The employees under my team will be able to share their feelings freely with me, which will lead to collaborative working environment. Hence, I have started improving on my communication skills and already improved a lot in terms of interacting with people around me. On other hand, I have also experienced that I need to be able to adapt with the changes for better understanding the business opportunities and avoiding the possible business risks. I have even improved somewhat in this area and start practicing on thinking in innovative way.
Conclusion
While concluding the study, it can be said that communication has a great link with the success of business leadership. High level of communication power helps in making better connection and collaborative relationship with the employees. However, I was somewhat less communicative in interacting with the people. Hence, I have started to improve on this area for being successful leader. On the other hand, I am highly focused on my desired goals and this skill of leader is most resonated on me. I can apply my coursework at my workplace through better aligning the learning goals and workplace goals and implementing the learning truly on the workplace area.
