Issues in the case
Discuss about the Perceptions of HRM Service Value.
The study of human resource management” href=”https://#”>human resource management is mainly based on a wide range of functions and aspects which can help in ensuring enhancement of the human resources and the proper process of management of the various organizational functions. The management of the employees who are a part of the various organizational processes is the most important function of the human resource management department of the company. The analysis will be mainly based on the case of the organization named the No Name aircraft. The company has its headquarters in Australia (Albrecht et al. 2015). The major factors that will be analysed in the report critically are based on the lack of maintenance of the organization based on the employees who belong to diverse cultural backgrounds. The difference in the character of the employees and their ways of operations has been a major issue that is faced by the company in the various years. The maintenance of a particular culture in an organization is important for the proper functioning of the company in the industry. This further leads to the appraisal of the performance of the employees. The lack of proper channels of communication is another major issue that is faced by the company (Amarakoon, Weerawardena and Verreynne 2016).
The main aim of the report will be based on the analysis of the process of diversity management in the various organizations. The process of the management of the performance of the employees will also be analysed in the report. The importance of the training and development in the international organizations and the ways by which the employees can be managed effectively will also be a major part of the operations.
The management of diversity in the workplace has become increasingly important in the modern business environment. The domestic workforce of the organizations has become increasingly diverse in the 21st century The culture in organizations mainly refers to the seven most important essentials of the cultural competency in the workplace. These seven important factors based on organizational culture are, the norms, the values and the traditions which affect the operations of the organizations in the diverse environment (Banfield, Kay and Royles 2018). The cultural competencies of the companies are thereby based on the ways by which the members of the groups are able to perceive the various situations that have occurred in the organizations. The ability of the employees to interact with each other is thereby based on their levels of cultural competency. This ability of the employees is thereby based on the knowledge and awareness that the employees have about the various cultures that exist in the environment (Bratton and Gold 2017). The more number of people belonging to different cultures further emphasizes on the need of the training based on cultural competency that should be provided to the. The cultural issues in the organizations can also occur due to the high levels of miscommunication that has been developed among the employees and the departments to which they belong. The cultural diversity in modern organizations can be maintained with the help of various processes that can further help in increasing the productivity and growth of the company (Brewster 2017).
Ways of dealing with the issues
The diversity in the workforce has become a huge reality in the modern business environment. The organization that has been taken into consideration in this analysis is the No Name aircraft which is facing major issues due to the lack of proper diversity management. The company has its base and headquarters in Australia and the subsidiaries operate in the countries like, Singapore, Vietnam and China. The organization has an employee base which consists of the members from these countries. The main focus of the organization is to improve and enhance the processes of diversity management and the ways by which the employees are able to interact with each other (Brewster, Chung and Sparrow 2016). The lack of proper diversity management has affected the coordination among the employees and the ways by which they provide services to the customers. The levels of services are highly affected by the various issues that are taking place among the employees. This has further caused losses in the revenues of the company and unsatisfied customers as well (Farnham 2015). On the other hand, the lack of coordination among the employees can further lead to the issues in long-term operations. This can cause huge losses for the company as the employees are always considered to be the main pillar in the organizational operations.
The communication process in an organization is important for the proper operations of all the departments together. The absence of the proper communication related channel can thereby cause misunderstandings among the employees and with the managers as well. The poor levels of communication can thereby act as a destructive factor for the proper ways of functioning of the company. The conflicts among the employees is also increased due to the lack of proper communication and the ways by which the employees can interact with each other (Jackson, Schuler and Jiang 2014). The companies thereby need to maintain proper and effective communication channels and processes so that they are able to compete in the fast changing environment. The organization which is being analysed in the report has also faced major issues related to the communication among the employees and the interaction among the departments in various countries. The communication levels are thereby based on the ways by which the employees are able to interact with each other and solve the issues that are being faced by them (Kramar 2014).
The process of training and development has played an important role in the various organizational operations. The employees who are a part of the modern global organizations need to be provided with the right amount of training so that they are able to adapt to the various changes that are constantly taking place in the organizational operations. The employees thereby need to go through various types of training and development processes which can help in making themselves comfortable with the operations in the company. The No Name organization has also faced issues in the training and development based programs that are designed for the employees (Lu et al. 2015).
The first issue that has been faced by the No Name aircraft in the environment is related to the lack of the diversity management based programs of the company. The organization has a base of employees who belong to different geographical areas and have different cultures as well. The management of multiple cultures by the organization has been a major issue in the headquarter and the subsidiaries as well. The company has been facing losses in the revenues due to improper management of the diverse group of employees (Marchington et al. 2016). The ways by which this issue can be easily resolved and the revenues of the company can be increased is with the help of proper leadership. The leaders or the managers of the company are able to play a major role in the management of diversity in the organizations. The leaders can play an important role in the management of the employees who belong to diverse groups. The managers or the leaders of the company are thereby responsible for the proper management of the employees who are considered to be a major part of the entire operations (Meijerink, Bondarouk and Lepak 2016). The creation of a positive working environment is important for the proper operations of the diverse workforce of the company. The managers can create an environment where the all the employees belonging to any part or class of the society are made to feel their importance within the organization. The inclusive work environment will thereby be based on the participation of the employees in the process of decision making in the organization. This will be helpful for the employees to increase their personal growth and improve their position in the organization as well (Paille et al. 2014). The organization is able to provide the employees with opportunities of growth in their own fields so that they are able to create their position. The employees also need to be examined on a regular basis so that the issues that are being faced by them can be analysed easily. The leaders also need to train the employees and create an awareness that is related to diversity in the workforce. The employees are provided with the written documents or emails so that can be encouraged to provide their services and the increase the levels of diversity as well. The official emails that are provided to the employees help in making it clear that the organization is expecting the tolerance of diversity from them (Purce 2014). The leaders need to efficient enough so that they are able to manage the conflicts that are occurring with the culture of the company. The leaders need to be dynamic and sensitive as well so that they are able to understand the grievances of the employees. The employees thereby need to enter an arrangement which is based on compromising about some of the areas and adjusting with the others in an effective manner (Reiche et al. 2016). The consequences that can be faced by the employees for their behaviour in the organization needs to be uniform in nature. This will help in reducing the levels of bias among the managers. This step will make the employees feel that they are equal parts of the company and all of them have similar rights to speak up related to the issues that have occurred. The feeling of equality among the employees will further help in the reduction of conflicts between them (Salas et al. 2015).
The second issue that has been faced by the No Name aircraft is related to the lack of communication among the employees. The issues related to communication are faced in the organization due to the lack of proper management of the diverse employees. The differences that are present in the sex, race, beliefs, sexual orientation and the lifestyle of the employees can thereby cause major communication based problems. The main problem that was faced by the No Name organization was based on the lack of proper communication among the overseas departments (Schumacher et al. 2016). The process of resolving the issues related to communication in the diverse workplace thereby requires a considerable amount of patience from the employees and the managers as well. The most important part of successful communication among the employees is based on the respect that the employees provide to each other in spite of belonging to different cultural backgrounds. The generalizations in the communication needs to be avoided so that the employees are able to communicate with each other easily. The employees need to be provided with sufficient amount of knowledge about the other cultures in the organization (Sheehan 2014). The multicultural organizations can thereby operate in a positive manner with the help of the cultural awareness that is present among the employees. The differences in culture can be mitigated in the No Name aircraft if the employees are aware of the values that are followed by the other employees. The honest and open discussions among the employees can be created with the help of the coordination of the employees (Shields et al. 2015). The awareness of the cultures can thereby help the employees to understand each other. The conflicts among employees belonging to different cultures can be reduced with the help of reduction of the blames that they tend to put on each other. The teams in the domestic and the overseas operations of No Name aircraft need to work together so that they are able to increase the levels of communication and various work related issues can be solved faster (Vivares-Vergara, Sarache-Castro and Naranjo-Valencia 2016). The skills of the employees related to the ways by which they are able to listen to the issues that are faced by each other can also enhance the process of communication. The employees need to understand the needs and the demands of each other and further work in a collaborative manner to solve the various issues that are being faced by them within the organizational settings. The employees need to pay full attention to the various discussions that are taking place in the organization and resolve the various communication based conflicts (Vivares-Vergara, Sarache-Castro and Naranjo-Valencia 2016).
- The first recommendation that can be given to No Name aircraft is based on the ways by which new leaders or trainers can be appointed for the purpose of providing extensive training to the employees.
- The organization can also implement various sessions where the employees from the different areas and departments will take part. ‘
- The choice of the trainers that is made by the organization needs to done in a careful way. The trainers need to be open minded in nature and the they need to provide them with the best possible training.
- The leaders need to take care that a positive environment has been created in the organization. This will enable the diverse employees belonging to any part of the society to create a profitable position.
- The leaders need to pay attention towards the various functions that are performed by the employees and further try to maintain their levels of confidence in an effective manner.
- The communication based training also needs to be provided to the employees so that they are capable of communicating with the employees belonging to different departments in an easy way. This will further help the employees to improve cultural knowledge and communication skills.
Conclusion
The report can be concluded by stating that the issues that are faced by multicultural and global organizations can be solved with the help of proper management by the leaders. The diversity in the organizations can be managed successfully with the help of the coordination between the managers and the employees. The proper coordination can further help in increasing the levels of communication between the employees and the leaders can be enhanced with the help of the highest levels of communication. The No Name aircraft can thereby aim at increasing the revenues with the help of positive and inclusive work environment. The organization can thereby improve the operations and create a different position in the industry. The management of the diversity levels is important for the purpose of providing equal chances to all the employees. The management and the leaders of the organization play an important role in the entire process of diversity management. The proper management of diversity will thereby provide huge growth opportunities to the company. The inclusion of the diverse employees in the process of decision making will increase the implementation of new ideas in the organizational processes. The proper management of the diverse employees can therefore beneficial for the company as a whole. This will provide the organization with huge opportunities for growth in the environment. The diversity in organizations have thereby become a necessity in the business environment.
