- Summary of Guest Speaker- The first speaker spoke about the challenges he faced in commencing with his business. He discussed about the recent trend recruitment though Facebook, therefore emphasizing on social media platforms being increasingly used for recruitment of new employees. He stressed on an important issue about not focusing on the destination but on the journey. He was of the opinion working in a company would render experience to the person. It should not be considered as the final destination. He wanted to become a primary school teacher but he quit that job as did no find it suitable to his temperament. He learnt German and realized that it was not an easy course. He wanted to do something different. We will move from the companies and enjoy at each stage of the company you are. His motto in life is no to concentrate on the results. Technology is changing. Companies he has worked for an overview. He started in the marketing department, when he in second year. He has worked in Adidas that faced Puma. He worked in the marketing operations. During the 80 months, there is a team that worked with the stage of design to manufacturing and he was bestowed free stuff. He had the opportunity to interact with people who belonged to diverse communities. His instilled in him the passion to work. According to this an advantage of working with global companies as they give you exposure, make you appreciative, tolerant and aware about different cultures and you get to learn the value of pluralism (Inc.com 2018). He learnt a lot throughout his journey. During the period of recession when he finished his masters, there was a crisis for employment. He had to compete with people who are much senior than him. The big corporate he worked it was not his cup of tea. His felt happiness is more than paycheck. He started hating himself when he started getting rejections.

Job interviews can begin with internships where one does not salary. He had experience n advertising and that helped him to understand the world of advertising better. He wanted to do something different and wanted to come out of his comfort zone. He joined a small company to gain experience and his contract ended after a year. Once a person start working with reputed companies, the person tend to build networks that would be important for professional career. It is not just about paycheque that interested him about working with companies. Apart from Facebook, the company recruits through Instagram. As a recruiter, I would be interested to take the person on-board who possesses the abilities to apply the communication and interpersonal skills required for business (Recruiterbox Business Guides 2018). Technology has ushered in revolution in communication, this can be witnessed in the way the customers and potential consumers interact with the brands

This kind of model has widened to incorporate connections and networks to enable companies to choose their potential candidates and is not limited to the individuals.
- Personal Takeaways – One does not need to be a science people in order to recruited in companies that involve technology. He had his share of challenges but he tried to overcome these challenges and move beyond them. If you want to understand the industry and marketing, you do not really need to be specialized in technology. His message was pursue what your heart says rather than adhering to a profession that does not match with temperament. It is not just about experiences but is about skills. Know the culture of the company and they will feed your curiosity. If a company does not match your personality or expectations do not involve yourself with that company. Be hungry and humble. It is all about how you get your work done and know your weaknesses. Knowing your weakness is actually a sign of strength. It is important to know your strengths and collect feedback to improve yourself (Matt, Hess and Benlian 2015). A person need to continuously make an effort to improve oneself. He is with Facebook. Never seek for favour but rather look for a job that suits you. Failure is part and parcel of your career. Mentorship is important to survive in the career. Professional career is not a smooth journey, sometimes people will learn the hard way. The idea is to always keep striving and moving in your career. Stagnancy is not desirable. Failure is the key to learning rising like a phoenix from the ashes.
- Summary of Guest Speaker- The second speaker intended to share the experiences that he has accumulated throughout his career journey and those experiences are not necessarily about him. He began his journey working as a consultant. He is interested in transforming business. His salary is based on what people want to do in life. He was good in academics although he was interested in what he was doing. He joined the sales as it was considered as a safe career. After pursuing his CA, he chose a safe job as suggested by many people. During his second year in college, he came across a range of companies during his placement time that were offering lucrative remuneration. He heard that that a successful career spans around getting a job that covers the investment made on education and guarantees free lunch. He did not get a good opportunity right after he completed his college. He did three years of degree in college and then went on to pursue one year of masters. He initially found it difficult to make a mark. He worked with PWC and spent three and a half years of life with the company. He spoke about the perception of people that if someone has a background in finance, the person would not be able to work in sales. After spending an arduous amount of time in education, he felt that the job he was associated with was not all the effort. Therefore, he decided to quit his job. He left PWC after his contract got over. He went on an introspective mode at that stage of his life contemplating about the futility of his career considering the kind of education he has received. The job he did so far did not match with his temperament. Then Google recruited him and his motivation for working with the company was great work culture, free supply of food, incentives and rewards, and other perks. This time he realized that if he cannot survive in this company, then he would not be able to survive in any other company. Therefore, Google became a turning point in his career. He was interviewed by the sales team

- Research the topic or piece of technology stated by the Guests – The speaker spoke about smartphone, laptop and smartwatch that connect with internet and provide a plethora of information. He was speaking about connecting devices. Smart-connecting devices have revolutionized the business model of companies through the creation of disruption. Companies these days are making use of smart-connecting devices to reach out to their market and gain a competitive advantage over other companies. Therefore, connecting devices that connect to the internet has a huge potential in generating money and expand one’s business.
- Personal Takeaways- He was associated with Google for a period of nine long years and he had to begin from the starch to reach the top level of management. His salary was based on his performance and the salary was quite lucrative. However, he felt that he did not see himself pursuing this career for the rest 35 years. He picked up many skills due to his association and experiences in different companies that he was taught not in college. Interview can sometimes turn out to be an intimidating and exhausting process. He emphasized on work-life balance and the need to interact with friends and not forget their contributions. He picked up skills that are not readily available. Extra-curricular activities are very important. First activity in the morning that he does is checking his phone. Everything that we use is technology-driven. It is important to self-assess and understand about the uniqueness of oneself. Everyone has the same degree but it is important to rise above conventional degree. It is a competitive environment and the candidate needs to realize that s/he is not just competing with the immediate peers but also many other people who have acquired the same degree (Paulins, Hillery and Sturgill 2016). One need to understand what makes them stand out from the rest and compel the recruiters to recruit you (Goleman 2017).It is crucial to enjoy the job that one is doing. The resume of a person need to demonstrate the adequate skills especially leadership skills that would veer companies towards an individual. Training is important to realize the potential. He argued that it is not necessary that one will get their dream job right after completing their college education. In fact, it may take longer time than expected. Therefore, it is important to patient and at the same time seeks experiences until the candidate finally finds his/her dream job. There can be bad jobs but experiences cannot be bad. The experiences accumulated from each of the odd jobs in the life of an individual will be useful during the pursuit of the dream job. It is important to be ready and grab the opportunities (Y?ld?z, Ba?türk and Boz 2014). The competitive advantage would be the experience, resume and knowledge about technologies in case one wants to succeed in the domain of technology.

According to her video games was quite a cool option as with most the millennials (Westerman, Bonnet and McAfee 2014). In B-school, she learnt about entrepreneurship and programming since she was interested to understand the world of video games. She worked in a company for three years and learnt about the practical details of programming.
- Overview of Topics/ Facts/ Issues of Interest- She secured her first job in the second last year of college. She was vice-president of a club during her college days that taught her the importance of leadership skills and contributed in her journey as an entrepreneur. Extra-curricular activities indicate the capabilities and range of the person. It is very important focus on nurturing extra-curricular activities as it enables the individual to explore their range and incorporate those learning in their professional journey.
- Research the topic or piece of technology stated by the Guests –The technology discussed by the speaker was video games. According to a report by The Economist. (2018), the video-game market has come a long way from starting as a backyard market to a full-fledged multi-billion dollar industry. The video-game industry is quite lucrative as it can turn any consumer into an addict. It has been reported as one of the fastest growing industries in the major business hubs of the world. It was by the 1970s that the video games were became instructional tools to demonstrate the capabilities and potential of the new technologies. Scholars have tested rudimentary forms of artificial intelligence on games like chess and tic-tac-toe whilst displaying their research findings to the public events like that of the Festival of Britain and the National Exhibition. The video games during this time became important for the commercialization. It was Saga and Taito who was the first ones to understand the public interest of gaming. This was realized when they released the electro-mchniacl games and crown Special Soccer. Atari became the first company to entrench its position in the booming market of gaming in 1972. The penultimate video game boom came in the firm of Space invaders who witnessed the mushrooming of a number of shops who were selling video games. I t was Sega nad Nintendo who moved the gaming into the online gaming sphere. It was since the 2000s, that there was an explosion in internet that led to rhe development of new video-games that were suitable for the internet sphere. - Personal Takeaways- She emphasized that if one intends to teach a subject, one needs to completely immerse in the subject and learn about it from the scratch. Teamwork is very important and coordinating between different members of the team would teach a person the lessons to run a company (Swanson and Frederick 2016). One needs to try out different opportunities that come in their way. It is acceptable to be uncertain about what to do next in one’s career. It is important to build on one’s extra-curricular activities and provide an insight about one’s personality to the company.
