According to Fennelly (2017), there is no lock that is completely invulnerable. The effectiveness of a lock is determined by how long it can resist the attempts of an intruder. Fennelly (2017) tells us that the two basic methods for attacking locks are the following:
- Surreptitious techniques
- Illicit keys
- Circumvention of the internal barriers of the lock
- Manipulation of the internal barriers
- Shimming
- Force
- Attacks on Bolts
- Attacks on Cylinders
Select and discuss 1 of the attack methods. Also mention why you selected that particular attack method.
