Directions:
Think of all the tasks that you perform when you purchase a car. Include any research, decisions, or financial issues that relate to the purchase. Create a graphical model of a Work Breakdown Structure in logical sequence in the form of a PERT/CPM chart. It must show the task name, task ID, start day, end day, and its estimated duration for every task. The PERT/CPM chart will show task patterns and the logical sequence of the tasks. Use ONLY full days as the time period, NOT hours, half-days, or weeks. Be sure to include the proper identification of the Critical Path, both textual and graphical. Your response will demonstrate your comprehension of the content presented in the chapter. Your answer should look similar to the textbook, page 103, Figure 3-22.
Your chart MUST contain at least one multiple successor task pattern AND one multiple predecessor task pattern. Make up the information if necessary to accomplish this. The textbook, page 100, Figure 3-16 illustrates an example of a multiple successor task pattern and Figure 3-17 illustrates a multiple predecessor task pattern. I am interested in your ability to document a project using a PERT/CPM chart, NOT whether you know all the steps involved in purchasing car and their correct pattern!
